I have been going to this jewelry store since it opened and always enjoyed my visits. However, twice recently I have run into an employee whose name I cannot recall. She has a wealth of tattoos and is blonde. She made me feel unwelcome the first time that I dealt with her and I thought perhaps she was just having a bad day. Unfortunately I went in again today and was not asking for anything out of the ordinary, but was treated almost rudely by her. Because of her attitude I mentioned that I can always go to other jewelry stores. And she suggested that I do that. This is certainly not my idea of acceptable customer service. This is such a shame because the woman who makes the jewelry is delightful and the pieces they have there are wonderful. Nevertheless, until I know this clerk isn't there any longer, or I can figure out when she's not working, I will not darken the door. read more

This is my favorite local jewelry store and I have bought a lot of my earrings there. I also got a ring as a gift from years ago that I treasure. Highly recommend their products and selection! However, the last time I was there a couple months ago, the store smelled very strongly of marijuana. It is possible a customer before me carried in the scent but it was strong enough to make me nauseous. That is the only bad shopping experience I have had but it has decreased my desire to shop there. read more

Diamonds are a girls best friend, I know... but Cocoanut Jewelry is a close second. I'm glad to have found their location on Ridge Rd. I used to love them at Willow Lawn, and I seldom drive to Short Pump, so now they are right down the street! The variety of jewelry is unique and exquisite. I've purchased several sterling pieces, some rose gold earrings and an onyx ring. I've always been pleased with my choices. One of their best selections is the eye ware! They have readers in varying strengths which are encrusted with lots of bling! I've gotten 2 pair and I always get compliments! The have some gifts items too! The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Stopped in to get a watch band adjusted. The jeweler had me all set and ready to go in about 5 minutes. I also asked her about fixing a ring that needs tiny pearls replaced, and she said she definitely could do it once she finds the proper pearls. So, I'll be taking the ring to her to get fixed. I took a look around in the store, and they have a lot of cute stuff, particularly in silver. Some of it is priced a bit high, but it's the perfect place to buy a gift for a lady friend. read more

This was my favorite jewelry store on the east coast. There are many chain stores with jewelry that's boring, but this was the rare place that was a unique boutique with jewelry that had charm and character, and was genuinely pretty. I don't live in Richmond any more, but I went out of my way to stop by this store when I came back to visit because I liked it so much. I don't normally write reviews, but this time I was compelled to after having such abhorrently rude service. My mother is a frequent shopper at Cocoanut Jewelry having spent several hundred dollars there over the past few years. She raves about them, constantly talking about how good of a selection they have. She recently bought me a very beautiful and very unique bracelet from their store as a birthday present. I fell in love with it and after a few months went by decided to call the store to inquire after the jeweler (I live from out of far out of town, otherwise I would have simply gone in the store myself). When I called and explained the situation, the woman on the phone immediately adopted a snide and unfriendly tone and flat out refused to give me the name of the jeweler because "it would not be in the stores interest from a monetary standpoint to give me the name." When I reexplained my situation, stating that I could not come to the store due to its location, she still refused. While I do understand that this company would not have benefitted immediately financially from telling me the jewelers name, they certainly made the wrong move financially in the long term. True customer service is about making sure that the customer is happy. Having worked three different customer service jobs myself, I know this to be true. I told my mother about the incident and she said she would no longer be shopping there. read more
