I was craving croissants on Sunday morning so I went to check out this place since it's close to where I live. Just a heads up parking is honestly pretty difficult so it may take you a bit to try to find parking in the area. I got the strawberry croissant, chocolate croissant, and almond croissant! along with an iced latte. Took all of them to go to eat back at home. The iced latte was just ok but the croissants were pretty flaky and smooth! Both the chocolate and strawberry have a cream filling on the inside. I would try to come again earlier in the day to get a fresher batch. I would say the croissants are the best thing to get at this cafe. read more

We found this coffee shop and bakery while searching for a coffee shop to visit. The shop is pretty large with seating area next to main area. This store looks like same group as the one in Santana Row. It has various of unique pastries and macaroon and all looks yummy. Looks like this shop is popular for the pastries. We ordered couple pastries, croissants , tiramisu, lattee, mocha. All are yummy. The highlight is the pastry. I like this place as the seating area is nice where you csn chat nicely. Food is great, if a bit on the pricier side. But the you can tell that the quality of the food is top-notch. All of it is also gorgeously and meticulously made (French patisserie at its finest!) and delicious and fresh tasting too. Cocola Bakery is one of the few places with food within walking distance of my work, which is mostly an industrial area bordering a residential neighborhood. So we come here when our work cafe is closed. Service is simple, you order at the cash register, pay, sit, and they bring your food to you. The dining area is no fuss, but bright and well lit with lovely windows that let in a lot of light. You self-bus your silverware and dishes when you are done. I like to get the turkey cranberry brie sandwich or the ham and cheese sandwich. They each come with a side salad/potato salad portion, which you can change to fresh fruit salad for an upcharge. And I also like to swap the baguette for a croissant for $1 more (worth it)! The food is always really yummy, even if pricey. Each of those sandwiches runs over $16 after tax. read more

They're very tasty , my husband loves the Napoleon it's just wow delicious, my fav is Bamboo (Mango & Passion Fruit Mousse). The place has plenty of dining space, very nice and peaceful! During my visit the only thing I didn't like was the man getting my pastries started placing them over the pastry glass stand which look dusty, and when I mentioned it he said it was fine that the napoleon had a plastic wrap so it wasn't fully touching, I found this unprofessional, they have trays and he could of used one or he could of started placing them in box but He ended up placing all 10 pastries over the glass stand other ones did in fact have a little carton pastry plate but not the napoleons which I got 4 of and I bought the happy birthday chocolate sign . I spent 93$ on 10 pastries and a chocolate sign, very worth it. They can definitely improve in customer service since that's the part that was 2 starts for me. We come 3 times and no one welcomes you or engages in any form of a welcoming customer service . Nice little bakery in an area with a lot of car shops. I hung out here while getting my car serviced. Ordered the monterey chicken sandwich and some pastries. Really liked the sandwich, great bread and very refreshing with the apple, celery and herbs. Also liked the red cabbage. The chocolate croissant had a nice filling with some custard, not just the typical chocolate batons. Ham and cheese croissants was also good, but had better ones from other places. I randomly found this place while looking for breakfast near my work.  Everyone seemed to rave about the strawberry croissant. I was a little hesitant because of the price.   I think it's like $8?  I figured it's Friday, and we all deserved a treat. The place was a little hard to find, but Google Maps got me there.  The parking was a little confusing because it's situated between businesses, and nothing was clearly marked. I walked in, and the place wasn't too big.  They had 2 display cases in an L shape.  It kind of worked in my favor because everything looked so good.   I wanted it all .  I did well and purchased the strawberry croissants, pineapple coconut pastry, and biscotti. only.   I did see a huge double chocolate cookie, but I figured I'd save it for next time. The gentleman who took my order was super nice and patient with me.  It looked like they had a seating area, maybe for lunch?  I'm not too sure if it was part of the bakery or something else. 1.  Strawberry croissant - This is so pretty. It had the pink stripes that people mentioned.  It was crisp on the outside, but once you bite it, and you hear angels singing,"Aahhh" .  I didn't know what to expect but I had to take another bite to figure out what I was tasting. It was flaky and the filling,  I knew it was strawberry but it tasted like so much more.   I felt like it was passion fruit or guava with how creamy smooth it was.   This was definitely worth it.   I did not share mine,  I just wanted to savor each bite. 2.  Pineapple coconut pastry - Crispy snap when you bite into it.   You can taste the fresh bits of pineapple and hint of coconut. 3.  Biscotti - This was fresh and you can taste the almond and chocolate.   This goes perfect with coffee or tea. This review is specifically for the Redwood City store. I picked a large cake from the daily readymade ones. It was immaculately put together, or crafted, I should say. It was unpretentious from the outside but incredibly tasty in the inside. The layers inside were so so delicately arranged. As you eat it, you don't want it to end, but at the same time, you will also be so gratified. The sweet and cream were well balanced. It was undoubtedly the best choice I made for a work event. People took pictures of the box and bombarded me with questions. The cake was indeed a piece of art ! The lady at the counter was very friendly and receptive. The store itself is at an unassuming place, if you don't pay attention , you would miss it. I had to drop my dog off at the vet. I asked the lady working the front desk for a good place to go get some coffee. This place was right down the street. The smell of baking bread meet me at the door. I wanted to order more than a ham and cheese croissant because everything looked great. I also got a latte. Friend and I wanted to try this place. I've driven past it for years. Was excited to give it a try. Best part of lunch was the bread. Period. We both went for the tuna. Uh. It was really green and weird. Not at all what it sounded like and definitely not well balanced. We both were sad at how much we had paid so tried to take it to our respective homes to doctor it up. I just gave up and composted it. Decided to try their banana something iced coffee. Definitely unimpressed. Feeling like we wanted to try to feel better about the meal so gave some dessert a try thinking that perhaps that was what might be their forte. Again. Cocola Bakery is a pastry and coffee spot known for their desserts. In my opinion, they do not serve the best coffee but their cakes are decent. I rarely come here and only stopped by when the other coffee locations inside the Stanford facilities are closed. I was craving for the banana espresso inside the Stanford cafe since they actually blend a whole banana with the espresso. That drink cost only $5.5 and it was tasty! Unfortunately, they closed because of the Thanksgiving holidays so I came here to grab a coffee drink before starting work. I saw that Cocola had a new banana mocha and decided to try it. Truthfully, it was gross! Tasted like someone just mixed a bit of chocolate into water and poured banana flavored sauce into the coffee. It was super watered down and cost more than the Stanford banana espresso. I was quite disappointed and actually tossed it away. I also ordered the keto breakfast bite and it tasted awful. I actually wanted to toss it away too but I was hungry and needed to eat breakfast. $6.50 for that and it did not satisfy my tastebuds. Same worker here every time I come and he is friendly. Desserts are displayed inside the store and there is a sit down area in the next room and outside. It is a good spot for people who are early for their appointments and waiting to be seen at Stanford clinic and infusion. They sound sandwiches, pound cakes, and cookies as well. Super clean bathroom and nice library ambience with old books. You can ask for your food to be heated up, my bacon quiche was amazing. Wish they had ketchup though. They only had salt and pepper. We have tried most pastries and the croissant ones are great, apple turnover is amazing (it's sweet so you have to have a sweet tooth!). Terrific place for good Latte's AND pastries!! I tried their sliced apple tart and was amazingly good! I'm particular with my pastries and discovered this place while walking my dog while my partner was at an appointment 2 blocks away at Stanford Medical center. They are opened late in the afternoon (I got there around 3:30pm during a week day) and although there weren't much pastries left, decided to have a hot Latte with oat milk and tried the apple tart. The apples were thinly sliced and the pastry itself was crunchy and it tasted like it just came out of the oven, even though it was room temperature, but not cold! The young gal behind the counter was very friendly and the place was well kept and very clean. I came back a week later with my partner in the morning around 8am and we both had the hot Latte with oat milk and was just as delicious as I remembered. I tried their almond croissant (I saw it the first time I was there) and I have to say was one of the BEST almond croissant I have had in a long time!! It was flaky, had just the right amount of almond filling and tasted like it just came out of the oven! An older gentlemen was behind the counter and was just as friendly and knowledgeable as the young gal was when I was there by myself. We saw some cakes, I believe around 10 inch size in one of their opened refrigerator case and they looked delicious and plan to buy one the next time we're there! Found this little gem today. The guy helping us was really nice and super fast. It looked like he was the only person, but maybe there were people in the kitchen. This quaint bakery is located right by the Stanford Sleep Center. Chicken Sonoma Sandwich: Their take on a chicken salad sandwich. It had both apple slices and grapes inside. The bread was perfectly crispy and chewy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The side salad that comes with has pickled cabbage with a vinaigrette on the side. The portion is pretty good for lunch. Rouge: Aka strawberry shortcake. This was soooo delicious! It wasn't too sweet and I wish they made bigger slices. Very light and refreshing. Passion cheesecake: The creamy smooth cheesecake with a top layer of passionfruit flavored jam/compote/jelly. A little bit heavier than the Rouge but still a light cheesecake. This is such a great spot to pick up something quick to eat or to treat yourself with some sweet goodness. We were surprised that so many similar places were closed on a Saturday, but this place came in clutch. The worker was very nice, and informative. The pastry choices were limited but that's only because the place was about to close and they had good ratings that we could see. What we did have, was tasty! We visited from the Central Valley I always take the time to find places I am glad I found this place! I must say it was a wonderful experience! I was able to sit outside with the pups!
