    Ham and Swiss on croissant
    Leslie H.

Food is great, if a bit on the pricier side. But the you can tell that the quality of the food is top-notch. All of it is also gorgeously and meticulously made (French patisserie at its finest!) and delicious and fresh tasting too. Cocola Bakery is one of the few places with food within walking distance of my work, which is mostly an industrial area bordering a residential neighborhood. So we come here when our work cafe is closed. Service is simple, you order at the cash register, pay, sit, and they bring your food to you. The dining area is no fuss, but bright and well lit with lovely windows that let in a lot of light. You self-bus your silverware and dishes when you are done. I like to get the turkey cranberry brie sandwich or the ham and cheese sandwich. They each come with a side salad/potato salad portion, which you can change to fresh fruit salad for an upcharge. And I also like to swap the baguette for a croissant for $1 more (worth it)! The food is always really yummy, even if pricey. Each of those sandwiches runs over $16 after tax.

They're very tasty , my husband loves the Napoleon it's just wow delicious, my fav is Bamboo (Mango & Passion Fruit Mousse). The place has plenty of dining space, very nice and peaceful! Perfect to enjoy a pastry, and read a book or work in your laptop. We haven't tried the food yet or coffee. During my visit the only thing I didn't like was the man getting my pastries started placing them over the pastry glass stand which look dusty, and when I mentioned it he said it was fine that the napoleon had a plastic wrap so it wasn't fully touching, I found this unprofessional, they have trays and he could of used one or he could of started placing them in box but He ended up placing all 10 pastries over the glass stand other ones did in fact have a little carton pastry plate but not the napoleons which I got 4 of and I bought the happy birthday chocolate sign . I spent 93$ on 10 pastries and a chocolate sign, very worth it. They can definitely improve in customer service since that's the part that was 2 starts for me. We come 3 times and no one welcomes you or engages in any form of a welcoming customer service . And again when buying so many little cakes it wasn't appropriate for person to start placing them all over the dusty glass counter, it's unhygienic.

    Gorgeous pastry case.

I could not write this review fast enough. I was blown away. Stopped in on a whim as I was in the area and hungry for late lunch. The pastry counter was gorgeous. I wanted one of everything. Ended up with the tuna sandwich on their baguette -- bread was lovely, tuna salad super flavorful, side salad and then lemon tart for dessert. Yummm!!! I'll be back.

Don't let the industrial looking building facade throw you off. This spot has good desserts, sandwiches and other treats. There is also plenty of seating at otter left when you enter. I got a chocolate banana pastry which was yummy and a quiche which was a big portion and also good. Service was very friendly and attentive.

Great service from Lawerence and a bakery menu of birthday cakes, deserts and even Quiche. All delicious. I highly recommend.

Nice little bakery in an area with a lot of car shops. I hung out here while getting my car serviced. Ordered the monterey chicken sandwich and some pastries. Really liked the sandwich, great bread and very refreshing with the apple, celery and herbs. Also liked the red cabbage. The chocolate croissant had a nice filling with some custard, not just the typical chocolate batons. Ham and cheese croissants was also good, but had better ones from other places. Overall nice bakery and will come back to try more things.

Bacon croissant...want to try next time

I randomly found this place while looking for breakfast near my work.  Everyone seemed to rave about the strawberry croissant. I was a little hesitant because of the price.   I think it's like $8?  I figured it's Friday, and we all deserved a treat. The place was a little hard to find, but Google Maps got me there.  The parking was a little confusing because it's situated between businesses, and nothing was clearly marked. I walked in, and the place wasn't too big.  They had 2 display cases in an L shape.  It kind of worked in my favor because everything looked so good.   I wanted it all .  I did well and purchased the strawberry croissants, pineapple coconut pastry, and biscotti. only.   I did see a huge double chocolate cookie, but I figured I'd save it for next time. The gentleman who took my order was super nice and patient with me.  It looked like they had a seating area, maybe for lunch?  I'm not too sure if it was part of the bakery or something else. 1.  Strawberry croissant - This is so pretty. It had the pink stripes that people mentioned.  It was crisp on the outside, but once you bite it, and you hear angels singing,"Aahhh" .  I didn't know what to expect but I had to take another bite to figure out what I was tasting. It was flaky and the filling,  I knew it was strawberry but it tasted like so much more.   I felt like it was passion fruit or guava with how creamy smooth it was.   This was definitely worth it.   I did not share mine,  I just wanted to savor each bite. 2.  Pineapple coconut pastry - Crispy snap when you bite into it.   You can taste the fresh bits of pineapple and hint of coconut. 3.  Biscotti - This was fresh and you can taste the almond and chocolate.   This goes perfect with coffee or tea. I can't wait to come back and try the cheese danish or bacon croissant

Really really great croissants!! The strawberry is my favorite. Super light strawberry filling but really nice strawberry taste without being too heavy. Croissants are crisp in the outside and pillowy on the inside

Really luscious cakes - had the tiramisu (enrobed in a chocolate shell), mango mousse, and chocolate mousse which was my favorite. Beautiful presentation as well. A wonderful bday treat!

This review is specifically for the Redwood City store. I picked a large cake from the daily readymade ones. It was immaculately put together, or crafted, I should say. It was unpretentious from the outside but incredibly tasty in the inside. The layers inside were so so delicately arranged. As you eat it, you don't want it to end, but at the same time, you will also be so gratified. The sweet and cream were well balanced. It was undoubtedly the best choice I made for a work event. People took pictures of the box and bombarded me with questions. The cake was indeed a piece of art ! The lady at the counter was very friendly and receptive. The store itself is at an unassuming place, if you don't pay attention , you would miss it. Google map was a bit lost when I am close to the place, but my find was well worth it :) Be ready to pay the price for the taste and the craft (I am not complaining)! Don't complain later that I have not warned you : ) Thanks to the team at this facility. You made our team's day !

Always nice to drop by and get my favorite pastries and cakes. The lady at the counter is always nice and accommodating. They have another store in Santana Row. However, not the best staff though.

Stopped here on my morning commute from SF to SJ and I feel like I found such a hidden gem! I got a punch of pastries for my coworkers and they all got rave reviews (especially the almond croissant). I got the pistachio croissant and I'll definitely be going back for it again. Super friendly employee greeted me and helped me out just a few minutes after they opened. Overall amazing vibes and delicious pastries - this is for sure going to be a commute go-to for me in the future!

I stopped by for a pastry and ordered a chocolate croissant. There was a good variety of pastries and desserts. It was flaky and crunch on the outside. There was a chocolate cream in the middle which wasn't super sweet and had a nice chocolate flavor. The service was quick and the worker was friendly. There was more seating indoors than outside. There's also a station for water, utensils, and sugar. I definitely want to come back to try their strawberry croissants and their other desserts.

We purchased the black sesame crossiant, which had a nice flaky texture and nuttiness. It also included chocolate as part of the inner layer of the crossiant, so it was partially a black sesame and chocolate crossiant mashup. The outside was topped with a black sesame and cream cheese-like frosting -- I could have had a little less of the cream cheese flavor (generally not a fan of cream cheese), but did enjoy it. If you want to enjoy any of the crossiants at this pop-up, get there early. We arrived only 15 min after their opening and was online for 1/2 hour and almost missed the black sesame and also missed a few of the other pastries already. It seemed like this popup had frequent visitors and that they tended to order in bulk, with each customer ordering multiple boxes of pastries even for a small group. We saw about 15 minutes after we left they were already sold out, so even arriving after the 1/2 hour mark may be too late to enjoy any of these pastries. There were a lot of options for fans of sweet pastries, but no savories at this one. I'll watch to see if the menu expands and maybe go again for the black sesame and a few other options in the future.

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.

My family and I stopped by Marvel Cake during Mother's Day for a sweet treat on Sunday. This location is in the strip of Downtown Palo Alto and has limited parking (similar to the rest of the stores there, there is a lot of parking, and you will need to get lucky). My mom does like the Marvel Cake in their first location, so we swung by here to try this one out! Location-wise, this is a smaller shop than the original one in West San Jose with limited seating inside. I would say it's not work from home friendly however, I did see a college student next to me on her laptop so maybe I am incorrect here! The interior is nice and light, matching the elegance of the desserts. We ordered three items on the menu: the pillow cake, the bisou, and the blueberry lavender roll. Here are some thoughts: * Pillowcase cake: It may seem like this would be a fluffy cake due to the nature of its shape, but it is a gelatinous Jell-O cake with fruit jam. It was not bad, and tasted refreshing and light. I didn't know if I liked it at first, but ultimately I did come back for seconds and thirds, so this is approved. * Blueberry lavender roll cake: This was not at all what we were expecting. I did not taste any lavender, nor did it have a strong blueberry flavor. I think what threw our party off was the layer of gelatin that surrounded the cake. Texturally, we were not a big fan. * Bisou: This one was our favorite one. I appreciated the nutty crust in the bottom layer of the cake, while the filling was soft and bouncy. It is very sweet, however, but overall, I really enjoyed this one and feel like it would go great with a cup of coffee. What made the experience here a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 was the service we got. We weren't greeted when we came in, which, to be fair, is totally fine, maybe they were busy. However, the person helping us stared at us the whole time and did not really communicate well with us. When I tried to order the cakes for my family, they looked bothered that we were there, and I was not sure if they understood what pastries I was ordering because they did not repeat it back to us at all or confirm anything. When I did place the order, they slowly grabbed the plates and looked visually confused, which again, if they wanted to, I could have repeated it back to them. After they gathered everything, they put it in front of us and rang me up. The whole time, they did not say a word to me at all. Did not reconfirm anything, did not acknowledge we were there, did not say thank you. It was a bit strange, and I had to check with my family if it was me or if that was a really weird experience (it wasn't me).
