Walked us through add ons without being pushy. - Tomo was my masseuse and was very knowledgeable. She looked at my back and could immediately see I was side sleeper. She gently asked if two places on my back were in pain - and she was right!!! She recommended both Lomi Lomi and shiatsu combo techniques and would gently warn me if something would be a little painful (it wasn't - but a little tender). She also made recommendations on my body that had low circulation (Were cold spots on my body) and how to mitigate with heating pad etc. I've never had such a thoughtful masseuse. She explained each body holds different areas of stress that can manifest as pain/knots and she loved to figure out what a client needed - like a puzzle. You can tell she took her job seriously and also wanted her client to get the very best out of the experience. One of the best massages I have had. Honestly, just pay the extra five bucks and ask for Kishiko, you won't regret it. I booked her for both reflexology and a facial, and they were amazing. I've tried a few other spots on the island, like Shirley's Foot & Spa and Kamaaina Massage. They were fine, but Kishiko at Cocolomi is on another level. The prices are better here too: 10% off for couples, and they don't tack on that annoying 4% fee just for using a credit card. I came here during my trip in April 2025 and again this August, and I don't even know why I bothered trying anywhere else. From now on, Cocolomi is the only place I'm booking when I visit and want to relax. Clean facility, reasonable rates and Kishiko! Highly recommended and don't forget to tip, the therapist work hard. We had a tremendous experience yesterday with the couples massage. Early and I could tell we would be cared for by committed professionals. The staff was lovely. The massage was professional and thorough. My therapist worked closely with some neck and shoulder pain that I had been experiencing. I asked that she feel free to apply intense pressure on my sore trapezoid. She very much accommodated this request. The pain was expected and manageable. But I did have to breathe through it and considered if tears would actually come out of my eyes! We will definitely return to this location if we are ever lucky enough to be back in Waikiki. My wife's experience was similar. She is coming off an episode with her shoulder, and again the massage professional tended to her needs extremely well. To be clear, expect to pay $80 per person. I don't know what went wrong but it's very obvious that they either lie to us so that they can get us to the location and then switched it on us and we couldn't back out since we were already there. Had she had told us that she didn't have 90 minutes we had moved on to another massage place that could accommodate the time we wanted. Or is it secondly they are being slightly racist due to the fact that we're not japanese? Why would someone make a decision not to do the 90 minutes as they arrived and saw who we were? I am writing this because I just want the owner and the staff to understand that doing business this way already left a bad taste in the client's mouth right off the bat when they are supposed to have a relaxing massage at their facility. To be lied to or tricked prior to her service will not make your service any more relaxing. The massage was okay although my husband liked his, but not sure iif he jnows because he was snoring haha.. Too much jerking with the fingers, not smooth at all. I paid extra for them to use coconut oil vs the other oil that's not good for the body and she rarely used the oil. Actually she was skimpy with it. I get massages in a regular basis (over 25yrs as this is my addiction to my fitness), lately 5-6 days a week. When I session was 80% done (from a 90 mins) I got so frustrated that I finally said I'm not wanting my arms, hands, fingers, nor legs so can you please work on my areas of tension.
