Usually the first class is free but I did pay $30 - $40 for each trial class. My son didn't like the robotics class at all. He said the instructor was having a hard time keeping the kids engaged or on task. He also said the classroom was dirty and there were not enough parts or components so they had to get some from other rooms. As a new trial student you would think the instructor would give some background or guidance but he said there was no explanation or instruction from the instructor on what was going on. She was just helping kids that needed help or find parts for them. He knew one of the other kids in the class so he just sat next to him and observed (not sure why I had to pay for him to just sit & observe). He was supposed to take the coding class right after, but he was already done and didn't want to go back inside. We went after school on a Friday so he was already tired. Since I already paid for both trials, I rescheduled the coding class. They were very accommodating & rescheduled us a couple of times. He said this coding class was much better and the instructor was better. All the coding was done on the computer. My impression from the 3 times I walked in was it's chaotic: kids darting here and there and some parents picking up their kids. There are tables with robotics and coding plaques or instruments by the entrance and hallways, cluttered & dusty. The 2 young gals there were very nice but just sitting at their desks looking at their computer monitors amidst the chaos. They didn't ask him how the trial class went. Didn't seem organized or clean. I had high hopes with all the 5 star reviews on yelp but was not impressed. It's in a narrow and long strip mall with different businesses: a dentist and 2 - 3 other tutoring type afterschool places. Looks like a lot of local kids hang out after school. My son has gone to a dozen or so lego, coding and robotics camps over the last 2 summers and he said he prefers those classes/camps.

She asked if there was classes for survival. Luckily I found California Survival School. We were fortunate to have Dan as the instructor. He background is quite extensive and impressive. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Although I thought my seven year old would get bored with the lecture portion, Dan kept the group engaged throughout. The hand on activities were our favorite, like building a tend properly. Both my daughter and I enjoyed the class and learned essential skills that can be used in everyday situations. Highly recommend the class for any age.

We took the core survival class, and found it to be very useful. Many of the essential components of surviving in the wild are counterintuitive, especially based off of pre-conceptions we have learned from movies and TV shows about wilderness survival. We are now much better prepared because of the knowledge we gained through this class. I won't give any spoilers cause that would ruin the experience- but on top of basic survival priorities, we learned how to build shelters, purify water, best react to dangerous animals, build fire, and even identify some plants. I also learned that I am kind of a pansy and really don't want to get lost in the wild. I would definitely recommend wearing long pants and long sleeves due to some of the tasks required during the training. Don't be like the girl that came (loudly pronouncing that she was) super hungover, wearing a super deep v neck and no bra (come on man- save it for Burning Man), because you are going to have to actually do stuff. This is a hands-on course, not a powerpoint presentation. Overall, would highly recommend this course for adventurers wanting to better learn how to be safe in the wild.

The facility has 3 separate rooms, 2 classrooms and a computer station. The walls are in need of fresh paint, the bathroom sink is chipped and broken in some areas, the rug is in a huge need of cleaning. The center really needs some touch and care. It is a children center after all (that is the reason I took away a star). Location is great, close to the Asian grocery stores, restaurants, businesses, and to the Puente Hills Mall.

Personally, I recommend doing the at home study because they'll send you home with the book to…read morestudy along with the test packet that provides you with the "practice test answers" ( where each practice question will be categorized by chapter) as well as the actual exam which is 25 questions ( need at least minimum 18 questions to pass ) but to simplify how this will work is basically what i did was I would read each question while reading the book and answer as i read if that makes sense for example on the practice question. I believe 2-3 questions. Will be categorized under each chapter and as i read the chapter I'd match the questions to get my answer because some questions will be tricky questions And so forth with the exam. Instead of reading the entire book first then doing the packet after. It saves time plus it's super easy. I paid 55$
