    water area was not on

Large, clean park with different elevations and incredible views. I was driving to dinner with my son when an accident took our GPS on a detour past this park, it looked so interesting I pulled over to go explore. You drive up the side of a small mountain and it opens up to a HUGE 29 acre space with almost too much amenities: -baseball, softball, basketball -large section of exercise equipment -large section children's play area -a modern and clean community center -water/splash area -BBQ and picnic benches -large parking lot My favorite part was the view from the top of the mountain, very well maintained landscaping as well, surreal in ways with the large power lines right next to it.

The park: There are kids playground, BBQ area with lots of table and seating. Perfect for gathering and party celebration. Large grass area. Very well maintained. Quiet and safe park. The Parking: private parking lot. Plenty of spots.

Saw a homeless went by to take shower. It was gross. The sign says water recycled. There were a bunch of kids and even babies. I think there should be a way to stop homeless from doing so. It was fun but after someone showered there, everything was ruined.

It is a pretty cool place, they have playground for the kids, they have a outdoor gym which is pretty decent, You can definitely see some animals if you like to take photos, have a great path for a walk, they have tennis court, baseball field, and much more.

This park is very pretty with beautiful scenery. There is a not too long hike with beautiful flowers on the side.

I liked this park; it was not only tucked away but also came with a beautiful view. (I don't dare describe the view; I wouldn't do it justice.) But, alas...I digress. I came here with my kids for the splash pad. They enjoyed it! Good set up for toddlers and younger-aged kids. The crowd is a mix of families with mostly little ones ages 1-10 or so. Lastly, the playground is worth mentioning. The play equipment is not the typical barrage of swings, etc. It seems to be centered more toward balance & development...maybe more appropriate for elementary school kids. Nonetheless, my kids had fun climbing about....they even tried the wobbling balance beams...talk about a bit of a mommy heart attack! Overall, a fun time!

It's the perfect quick escape -- close enough…read moreto civilization for convenience, yet far enough to leave the hustle and bustle of traffic and city life behind. Right now the cherry blossoms are in full, breathtaking bloom, turning parts of the park into a dreamy pink wonderland. The wildlife is thriving too: squirrels galore that are so bold they'll walk right up to your feet if you sit still and stay calm. On warmer days I've spotted rattlesnakes scurrying across the trails, so I always recommend staying in the middle of the paths as a safety precaution. From the main entrance at Colima Road, you can choose the paved walkway or head straight for the dirt trails depending on your mood. I usually make my way toward the horse stables and equestrian area -- watching the horses get fed or running around their enclosures is one of my favorite parts. Just be mindful of the occasional big mounds of horse droppings on the trails; it's a small price to pay for the beauty. The park is generally very clean, with plenty of trash cans scattered throughout. There are numerous benches, picnic areas, fire pits perfect for groups, a children's playground, and even a seasonal creek with several charming wooden bridges crossing directly over it (though the water is pretty dry now that the rainy season is over). You'll also notice signs posted along the trails warning about bobcats and mountain lions. I've been coming here regularly for six months and haven't heard or seen any myself, but I've seen quite a few hikers carrying pepper spray as a precaution. Just be safe out there. Weekends get busy with families celebrating birthdays and enjoying the outdoors, but it's all part of the lively atmosphere. For dog lovers, there are two fantastic off-leash dog parks right near the front entrance -- one for large dogs and one for medium/small dogs. Outside of those areas, dogs must be on leash per the signs. The hilltop trails offer absolutely stunning panoramic views that make every visit worthwhile. My only heads-up: the park is officially closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (per LA County rules), but a lot of locals park across the street at the nearby mall and walk in through the gates anyway. If you're in the Rowland Heights/Hacienda Heights area and looking for a beautiful regional park with trails, nature, horses, cherry blossoms, and those lovely wooden bridges over the creek, I highly recommend Schabarum. Just bring water, wear good shoes, keep an eye out for those snakes in the summer, and stay aware on the trails! 5/5 -- I'll definitely be back soon.

There is a round about parking near the entrance with a moderate amount of parking spaces but if you go past that further in there are more parking available. The play ground is quite large compared to other smaller park playgrounds. The cool think i like was that stairs from the first parking lot with the restrooms connect to the playground. So kids can jump right into the fun. Next to the playground its surrounded with plenty of picnic tables (concrete) and lets parents sit and relax while the kids play. The playground has multiple entries with two slides? Two monkey bars, stepping stone style elevated steps, a fireman pole, etc... definitely a fun park to come to. There is a little creek adjacent to the playground where you get a nice tranquil stream of flowing water drowned by the screams and laughter of children in the background, lol.. its nice really and something that sets it apart. We did not go further past the stream but there appears to be additional tables and a trail. Had a great time meeting our friends there and enjoying some fun times with the kids in the process. My kids loved it.
