We had a great experience with Cody Davis Videography for our wedding. The team was extremely professional when onsite for our wedding and came fully prepared for our event. They took extra care to make sure they understood our timeline, special events, and our key areas we wanted to make sure we captured. During the even their team made sure to capture some special moments and different angles of the ceremony to ensure we captured all aspects. We made an absolutely great decision there…read more We first met Melanie to do our engagement photos at the Blanton, those obviously turned out stunning, as she was able to get both of us to open up a little bit and get some good shots of us. Highly recommend doing an engagement session first, the chance to work with her twice was so awesome! Emails with her were always responded to in a very timely manner, and she was very helpful with any questions I had, so great to work with. She and her assistant James showed up and were ready to go on time, kept our day running smoothly through all the photos we wanted taken and they got so many shots of things that I didn't even think of! Finishing off the night with a gorgeous nighttime shot! Their personalities shone throughout the day, everyone was talking about how amazing and fun our photographers were.This was the first time that Melanie had worked with James, but you could not tell in the least, the two worked so well together and then the way they worked with the guests...I can't compliment them enough! As for the final product, it was beyond compare. Somehow she made it seem like when I scroll through the pictures of the day that I am just walking through memories of that day. Most of the photography booths were hard to tell apart, and it seemed like theirs was the only one with a definite /style/. I didn't interact with "he" much, but "she" was awesome. Melanie and a helper photographed our wedding. They were friendly, relaxed, and totally flexible - there was no rigid list of shots to get, and they did some fun stuff working with the location. If you hire them, your wedding photos will look like a dream sequence in a slick modern magazine. I booked a newborn session with Anja on 9/19 for today, 10/4. It was last minute, as newborn…read moresessions go, so when Anja wasn't super responsive to my emails after we booked, while frustrated, I didn't think much of it. We had a 10am appt, and at 9:51am, she emailed me to say she wasn't coming because a. she didn't have confirmation from me, and b. she didn't have my address. I have every email we exchanged saved, and I have proof that a. I confirmed on Sunday the 1st and b. I had given her the address immediately after booking on 9/19. I immediately emailed her back, as well as calling several times and texting. I sent her the screen shots of these emails and explained, via all these channels, that I was heartbroken. I had gotten up extra early to get my entire family ready for photos, which is no small task when you are getting no sleep with a newborn and have a toddler to contend with as well. I was SO looking forward to capturing these photos, as my daughter was born early and was already on the "older" side for newborn photos. I still have not heard back from her in any way, shape, or form. So unprofessional, disrespectful, hurtful, and just rude. This is certainly not a woman who should be running her own business, let alone catering to brand new parents who are already in a fragile state of mind.

Someone who could work with the reserved nature of my husband and camera-awkwardness of myself for one. Secondly, someone who had a portfolio with an eye for detail that would capture the details and vision I curated for our big day. And of course, a classic editing style that would outlive trend and serve as a gorgeous timestamp of our wedding day. John David ticked those three important boxes and exceeded my expectations in his professionalism on our wedding day, and even more so in the gallery of our photos we received last week. He and his second shooter moved us through our wedding day in a timely manner and kept us on schedule, totally cool as a cucumber leading us from getting ready scenes to portraits to wedding party shots with nothing but positive energy. They captured the love reverberating in the ceremony space when I see all my friends and family surrounding us. They didn't miss a beat when it came down to running through our list of family/ friend groups and capture the energy of our people non-stop dancing all night. His final product is a work of art. Full stop, gorgeous photos. They deserve to be full page in Vogue - and not at alll because we're models who can pose for a shot but because JD's ability to make us comfortable and read people made it intuitive for him to catch us in our most natural moments. I am forever grateful for the photos of our day he's given us and couldn't recommend him enough. If you want someone who will be a calming presence on an inherently hectic day, professional in all interactions, a keen artistic sense, and a bottom line kind human being to work with -- seriously look no further and write the check without looking back. Working with KHP and her all-star team is not just a professional photography session but an experience that allows you to feel good about yourself and have that self shine in a way that feels completely authentic to you. I've had the pleasure of working with Olympia twice now -- once when I needed professionally styled headshots quite quickly for an upcoming feature/publication and once for a lifestyle shoot. To say that their product is top notch is an understatement -- no detail goes unthought of...from styling, hair and makeup, lighting, vision...and it all comes together with this fun, carefree, beautiful experience, working in their studio (and having fun as well) that makes this team worth every penny. A few months back, I logged into a Zoom call and noticed that my awesome headshots from that session didn't really look like me at all anymore. In this post-Covid lockdown world, as we might be tip-toeing slowly and carefully back to the world of in-person meetings and conferences, using an old headshot felt like a little bit of "bait and switch!" Let's face it, hair is longer, skin is still fabulous, but...I'm OLDER. Still awesome, still sassy, but I needed an update. This time I worked with the fabulous Olympia Roll (and again, why on earth would you make this investment without the professional makeup add-on specifically for the photographer?) who "got me" from the first minute. One thing I especially love is the super light touch on touchups and post-processing. These pictures look like me, not an air-brushed, over-filtered, a little too pose-y overly contrived version of me. Now I need to either write a book or run for office (or both! ha!) because she gave me photos that make me look and feel like a BOSS. Thank you!

Everything about the…read moreexperience was extremely streamlined from booking to filling out waivers to navigating to the marina. Willo gave superb instructions on operating and piloting the boat including an overview of relevant customs and laws while out on the water. Our group had six adults and one 2-year old and they had plenty of water safety devices for all ages. On a side note, it was wonderful to see how genuinely excited Willo was about Lake Travis once again having a healthy water level after several dry years. In terms of our experience on the lake, we got excellent advice on where to travel based on our team's interests and after following his directions it felt like we had arrived on our own private lake. We probably only saw a handful of other boats during our 3-hour excursion and that was only in passing. The boat came with a Garmin GPS that made it really easy to retrace our steps. For those wondering, there was excellent cell phone service out on the lake and we were able to use our phone GPS, make calls, and stream music. The boat had some nice integrated speakers with Bluetooth connectivity and we were able to jam out to our own tunes. There was also a cool flotation device attached to the back of the boat called the Aqua Lily Pad which we unrolled after anchoring, we had multiple adults laying on it without sinking into the lake. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience and we would highly recommend booking with Float On.

That level of service carried over to most of the staff on the boat, making the experience even more enjoyable. During the event, I was introduced to Paul, who was seated with a group of friends. He was introduced to me as the boat owner and came across as relaxed and not at all pushy--qualities I appreciate when considering a business, especially since part of my motivation for attending was to explore options for my birthday celebration. Unfortunately, Paul's friends left a negative impression. A couple of them outright refused to acknowledge me, turning away when a gentleman attempted to introduce me. Others made inappropriate jokes about my accent in a condescending and offensive manner. One individual even made vulgar comments, implying that Paul should get my phone number to discuss event planning details later, which was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. While the event itself was enjoyable, the boat ride interesting, the behavior of those around the boat owner and the fact that the boat owner never replied to my text message trying to discuss my event, was disappointing and detracted from my overall experience. This experience left me with a negative impression of the boat's management, and I strongly feel that they are not welcoming to immigrants. The group consisted of older white men whose behavior was filled with prejudice and hostility. And for that reason I felt compelled to post a review discouraging people like me- and those against this type of behavior - to stay away and make better choices. We can use our money to invest in a much better experience elsewhere I left the boat traumatized and truly disgusted by those old men behaviors. Do better!

We hired Cody Davis as our videographer for our wedding on December 18th, 2018. I was looking for a videographer extremely last minute (5 days before the wedding) and was grateful Cody Davis was able to accommodate us. Cody Davis is one of the only companies that we could find that would allow us to book for only 2 hours, which was amazing because we only wanted the ceremony recorded. The videographer that was sent showed up one hour early to the venue and (without asking) stayed an extra thirty minutes past contract time with no additional fees to capture certain shots. His videographer was such a pleasure to work with, extremely personable, and really made me feel like he wanted to be there. In addition, Cody Davis and his team are very responsive and easy to communicate with. The price we paid was an absolute steal for the value of video we received and the time we were given to shoot! read more

Cody Davis Photography and Video did the most incredible job on our wedding video. We decided to hire a videographer last minute and we were so lucky that Cody Davis was available! From the start they were not only professional, but very nice and so easy to work with. I honestly don't know what we would have done without them, and in fact, I had wedding guests coming up to me during the wedding asking who the videographer was because he was so amazing even while filming the wedding. This company was great to work with! Cody's videographer was lovely and I really felt like he was excited to be there-- it's always great when your vendors make you feel special! Cody was accommodating of some weird requests and his videographer, Thomas, was VERY easy to communicate with via text and was so helpful during the whole process. We didn't want a glamorous, cinematic video. We were just looking for some special moments to be recorded. I communicated this to Thomas and he captured my day absolutely perfectly. Cody davis photography was probably one of the best decisions ive made during the wedding process. We booked them about 6 months prior to the wedding and they were easy to deal with, attentive and listened to everything we had requested from them. We had a very traditional middle eastern wedding and they were on point with everything. The pictures and videos came out really beautiful and me and my wife were both happy with the results. Also from a price perspective they were extremely reasonable and well priced compared to other Austin photographers. Would definitely recommend. read more

Cody was easy to work with and provided us with some great pictures. He was on time, organized and had good ideas on where to get some good shots as well as having a good eye for candid moments. The film crew was also super nice. They picked up some really nice footage of the ceremony along with a lot of "in the moment" scenes, where we hardly even knew they were there. Very professional. Cody's team did a really good job of capturing my wedding. We requested raw footage. I was expecting just simple footage of the ceremony and reception but they went above and beyond. They did little interviews where the guests wished us well on our special day. Cody is very direct and follows through.
