Really enjoyed the Cody Steakhouse. Filets were tender, juicy, and flavorful, and cooked exactly as requested. There were plenty of sides from which to select. The baked potatoes were huge, loaded with all the toppings! We arrived without reservations and put our names on a wait list. This gave us a chance to look around before being seated earlier than expected. The wait staff was attentive and did a remarkable job of keeping water glasses filled, crisp salads served before the main dinner. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and it was obviously a popular spot! The greeter was very courteous, and we expect to return the next time we are in town. We were visiting Yellowstone and Heart Mountain. This stop added to a pleasurable experience in Cody. read more

The menu boasts filets and meatloaf but also chicken dishes if you prefer. I ordered ahead of time for a takeout meal. I had a small filet along with red cabbage and broccoli, plus some fried beans as an extra side. We came here because we were still craving Bison Ribeye (after our entire trip through the Dakotas) and this restaurant had seemingly good reviews on Yelp! We made a reservation over the phone, but ended up just getting seated at the bar because we arrived about 10 mins early. This place was busy! All staff were wearing masks and the restaurant space appeared clean, however, some other customers were not fully abiding by the mask rules and waiting at the bar without masks while crowding the people seated at the bar, including us! My wife ordered a house special cocktail (cucumber mint and gin) which was quite tasty, though they did not have a drink menu. We ordered the $50 Bison Ribeye steak which came with a salad and a choice of side (we went with garlic mashed potatoes but it came with garlic mushrooms instead, NP) we also ordered the sausage stuffed mushrooms along with a side of sweet potato tatter tots. Tick Tock.. our appetizer finally arrives 40 mins later! The sausage stuffed mushrooms were OK, it tasted like mashed, creamy turkey stuffing rather than pork sausage on the mushrooms. The Bison Ribeye came, and unfortunately it was overcooked you medium rather than our requested medium-rare :( so they re-did the order of course and it was much better, but it also took another 30 mins. read more

Not a great experience. Our server was lovely (Caitlin), but the food was mediocre at best. We had Chicken Fried Steak (fine, not exceptional), and Gorgonzola pasta (good, but weird). Kids meals were standard, but a pepperoni pizza should have pepperoni on it, not sausage and peppers. Asked to use restroom, was directed to one. One of the most tender steaks i have had in a long time that had flavor. And was not over seasoned.. I didn't like that you didn't have your choice in vegetables. Went there to get a nice steak with my wife. Decided to get the 28oz Buffalo Ribeye and medium rare. It's a big piece of meat without much marbling. Apparently in the West medium rare is nearer rare than I am used to in the South. The steak had a good flavor and was chewer than I expected despite being fairly rare. The sides were great. Came here tonight for dinner on our last night in Cody. Had reservations so got seated quickly. I ordered a Baseball Sirloin done blood rare with veggies but no side. My steak was more rare then blood rare but not many places will cook a steak properly when you order it blood rare. When I say blood rare I really do mean blood rare. Most places think when you order it blood rare you really don't mean it but rare. The veggie were broccoli, red cabbage and what they called carrot soufflé but was more puree then a soufflé. Nevertheless the carrots were amazing as was the red cabbage. The broccoli was a bit over cooked for my taste as I prefer it with some crunch and this was a bit mushy. I ordered a Sola Pinot Noir with it because its more of a burgundy style Pinot and not a California style. They didn't have the Sola so they substituted another that was more California so not really my taste. The steak was very tender and flavorful so despite being over cooked a bit was still good. The hubs had the pork chop. He loved it. I had the ribeye steak - perfect! Dinner comes with soup or salad, a side (like baked potato or mashed), and also includes their carrot souffle (Oh my gosh, so delectable!), red cabbage, and broccoli. The soup was cheddar, potato, and steak. So good! The salad was fresh and included field/mixed greens, red onion, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and croutons. To top it off, we had the creme brulee. My husband and I stayed in Cody several days during the Labor Day weekend while we visited Yellowstone Park. Our last night in town it was hard to find somewhere to eat. We walked in and there was an hour waiting list. So we put our name on it and went down a few doors to the Silver Dollar and had a few drinks and enjoyed the live music.
