Group of 12 of us went for breakfast twice. The food was good and the service was fast and efficient even though they were very busy. The staff was super nice and accommodating. I had the gyro omelette one day and eggs Benedict the other. The Benedict was better than the gyro omelette but both were good. The potatoes were the highlight of both meals. Ordered the hot beef sandwich with gravy. When the huge plate was served the gravy had a dull gray color and tasted awful. The potatoes were instant with no taste at all. I love this place... from breakfast to lunch the food is great... I have never been disappointed. I go for a sausage and cheese omelette for breakfast. The hash browns are always golden brown and the omelette is always cheesy. They could use a bit higher grade white bread. A little more substance to it is needed.... For lunch it's the hot turkey sandwich fOr me.. it's so yummy.... Mashed potatoes gravy between a pile of turkey on white bread ( the right white bread for this.... Try their homemade soup.... Coffee Cup does the bare minimum to earn your business. If you change your order in anyway the charges are outrageous. Cottage Cheese instead of Hash browns will cost you $3. Making my way home from Galesburg, I decided to drop into this eatery. Breakfast all day is what sold me, as I wasn't craving any of the normal dinner options North America eats. It appears they had recently renovated the interior, which looked nice, but the booths are rather small. If you wanted to seat four husky men at a booth, you'd be cramped. I got the pecan waffles and a side order of sausage patties. The waitress was kind and attentive, and the sweet tea (supposedly home brewed) as a good blend of not too sweet but not too bitter. My food arrived quicker than expected, and the waffle "dinner" was divine. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this Family Restaurant to anyone passing through. I will be back sometime. My husband and I stopped in for breakfast. At first sight it seemed quaint and friendly, until we got our food. We were greeted by our waitress, who didn't smile or greet us. She seemed to be in a big hurry but the restaurant was not busy. My husband ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. The waitress brought him eggs, bacon, and fries. He told her it was wrong, and instead of making it right, she became rude and argued with him, insisting that he was wrong and refused to fix it. I ordered biscuits and gravy, with sausage and toast. All-in-all our food was bland, and tasteless. Biscuits were very dry, toast was soggy and cold, and bacon and sausage was too greasy. Stopped here on a whim on our way to Chicago, I do not like to eat fast food when I am road tripping. This place serves breakfast all day, and would say it is a pretty solid dinner. The decor is a blend of country and modern and looks like it was recently remodeled. The servicer was pleasent and the food came out fast. This place at one time was a good place to have breakfast, but not anymore! Had breakfast there yesterday, had eggs,sausage patties, and fried potatoes with onion. Sausage was a very low grade of sausage, had no flavor! Onions with the fried potatoes were added after potatoes were fried,( raw onion). I think they are trying to keep cost down by using cheaper grade of food, but in the long run they will loose customers! Not a good choice! Service was good, food not so good! This place has excellent food however my biggest complaint is I had no idea they don't take cards. My breakfast ended up costing me $3 more than it should have because they force you to use the ATM because they don't accept credit or debit. I love diners! A friend of mine and I ended up here when we were in the area for the day. We had been going-and-blowing all day, so I guess I should put that into account, but we are in love with the coffee cup to this day! I had chocolate chip pancakes and an egg. Delicious and affordable! Our waitress knew we were kind of exhausted and immediately gave us water. We are definitely coming back here when we're in Princeton/Bureau County. What a worthless dive this place is. Stay as far away from here as posible. First off when you go in and sit down they say nothing of the sort they don't take credit cards. Why is this? Won't step foot in here again. The service was unfriendly and terrible, the food was less than mediocre. I received my toast pre-buttered and politely asked my waitress if I could get dry toast. She rolled her eyes...didn't say a word and snatched my plate away...10 minutes later I still didn't have toast. I had to go and ask for it, it had been sitting in the window by the kitchen the whole time.
