Visited here and was treated horribly by the owner because I was listening to something on YouTube with my phone. We were the only customers in the shop and the volume was very low. He approached my partner and rudely said "Turn that off!" Taken aback, my partner asked him to repeat what he said. At that point the owner reached over and attempted to grab the phone himself as he said "I told you to turn that OFF!!" The saddest part is that this was a place we really enjoyed in St Augustine. We had been there several times over prior visits. Never again. Not another dime. read more

Super cute coffee house. I would like to point out that its actually a house turned business. When you walk up, you have this nice wrap around porch with seating. The inside has its rooms filled with art work and an lounge area. They do have merchandise for the coffee house logo and the local artwork to purchase. The counter to make your purchases is towards the back of the house. Its a small area with a pastries and a board in the background with coffee options. It's pretty cold outside and we just wanted coffee and a snack to go. The coffee was good but the spinach cheese pastries was amazing. The goal was to share with Bryan because we wanted to hop around and try different places. That was hard to do and would recommend getting your own. Neat little coffee shop just a short walk from Ripley's and Castillo De San Marcos. They were very pleasant, and my coffee was ready very quickly - much faster than those "big name" coffee shops! Just discovered a gem of a coffee house. The ambiance was eclectic. You can sit outside by the coy pond or on the porch. Many local artists paintings on the walls. Brightly colored walls convey a welcoming tropical feeling. In every corner you will find different curiosities. I sat in an antique chair which was quite comfortable. Diane and Theo, the owners are friendly. They have an assortment of croissants and muffins. I had the cranberry orange muffin with a cafe americano. The muffin was so large I took half home. The coffee was delicious. I thought I was in Europe. Diane and Theo are also realtors and have a B&B behind the coffeehouse. There is parking out front was well as behind the coffeehouse. I highly recommend this establishment. I'm hooked. I'm going to be a regular from now on. BTW all utensils are plant based. The staff was very nice, as were the blueberry muffin and danish. We also enjoyed the cafe con leche. It was worth it to take our time to relax in the well-designed interior. It felt homey and comfortable. The only thing keeping this from being a five-star-review (and not a huge deal) is: (1) asking if we would like our baked good warmed up would have been great (2) when handing the coffee to customers, I would strongly suggest not putting you fingers on the lid, especially where people will have their mouths. This is my favorite coffee shop in St. Augustine. I come here with a friend every week. The house made cookies, cakes, and breads are delicious! There is a great variety of pastries and there are some quiches available too that I haven't tried since I'm mostly dairy free. My standard coffee is an oat milk latte. The couple who runs the place are friendly and attentive. It's a cozy place to hang out, inside or on the porch. I love seeing what's new in the gardens. This place has it all! Well I thought I had reviewed here already since prior to moving to St. Augustine I have been here so many times; definitely more than the check-ins I have made. The coffee is unique I always order the cafe vianese and an almond croissant. It is always perfect. Prices are steep. Those two items cost me $11.00. More expensive than my regular shops in California. Today I was thrown off, I had my laptop going to do some research on Medical School Programs, and upon paying for my items at the register the owner (man) had gently said " you know we have a no laptop policy"? I said, well I have seen the sign pointing to a printout of a laptop in the middle of a circle with a red line in it, and another sign saying "no wifi, talk like it's 1995". Yet I always thought it was a joke... but he was serious. So, I said okay that's fine I'll finish my food and coffee quickly so I can go. He said oh you can stay as long as you want, just don't open your laptop. To me it was weird, because at this point I am paying your steep prices it shouldn't matter to you what I am doing with my electronic devices especially since everyone was on their phones my laptop is no different. Plus the typical coffee shop scene is use your laptop to do work etc something bigger than a cell phone screen. That threw me off to the point I didn't even want my croissant or coffee anymore. The owners are nice I have never had a problem as far as customer service with them. However, this POLICY is not for me; especially if I am paying top dollar for items. I don't think I will be back. My husband and I stopped in today and all we can say is that the place is so quaintly decorated and the service was excellent. We got a cranberry orange muffin, an iced latte, and an espresso frappe. We sat on the outside porch to eat the muffin while the frappe was being made and even though we couldn't have been there for more than 5 minutes, it was still worth leaving a review. Had unusually rude experience. After ordering our coffee, tea and pastry, we asked for a paper/plastic cup for a Diet Coke we brought, since it wasn't sold there, only sugared Coke. We were reluctantly given a tiny paper cup with a few cubes. I then asked for some kind of plastic drink cup, and was asked: "What's it for?" I answered, "For a drink." I was handed a cheap but perfectly suited, plastic water cup. We were at our table for a few minutes when an employee approached to say if we were going to pour our drink into the cup, it would be $1.25. We told him thanks but no thanks, and he retrieved the cup and took it back, presumably to give it to the next customer (after it was touched by all of us.) We were astonished, having never experienced anything quite like this. When we were leaving, I approached the employee to say while the food and coffee was fine, the experience was very strange, having never been treated like this. They were decidedly dismissive and seemed to couldn't have cared less, though we were still in a state of disbelief. I will go back there again. Recommend Juniper cafe across the street where the food and coffee were great, and importantly, the staff was friendly and accommodating. read more

I was having my car services next door at Firestone Auto, I had a nail in my tire. I stopped by looking for a drink and a snack. I was told I was not welcome because I had a laptop computer and they are not allowed. She pointed to a sign with a laptop and a red line through it. This is not my first bad experience there. But I went at a time when there were few people, so the owner herself took care of me. A person with a beautiful soul, super affectionate and caring, she made me a coffee, and said: drink and close your eyes and enjoy the journey. boy was the best lavender coffee I had in my life, and every sip took me to a different place, I've never had an experience like that, I loved meeting this place, these people and being able to take a journey in just one drink , my whole day was beautiful because of this coffee, and believe it or not it was that way. so today i went back there for the same coffee but in the hot version i liked it iced coffee better. It I could give a business zero stars this would be the place. My family and I came in to support small business Saturday. I'm not a coffee drinker so I asked if they had a matcha latte, which they didn't. My family stayed and ordered multiple drinks and I went across the street. When I came back to meet my family I realized they had tons of of syrups to choose from. I asked the man behind the counter how much it would cost to buy a little bit and he told me he does not sell anything to add to other coffee shops. If I wanted some I would have to buy a coffee..... really?!?? My entire family just bought coffee and today of all days businesses should be supporting one another. read more

Such an awesome find! This place is run by an artist husband and wife team who located from Key West just 2 weeks ago. Located in a beautiful old home which is so cozy and welcoming. The coffee amazing and their pastries (all made in house by the wife) some of the best I've had. Really unique combinations. Think Rosemary & Pear or Raspberry & Sausage all stuffed into a most perfect flaky phyllo crust, brushed with butter and flakes of salt. Their offering of Key Lime pie was the real deal, as well. No electric lime color, but rather the perfect shade of light green letting you know, no artificial color or flavor. Again, one of the best I've had. Ordered a mediocre coffee but could not "enjoy" it because as I was setting up a hotspot for my laptop to join my IMPORTANT MEDICAL SCHOOL meeting, I was rudely informed laptops were not welcomed even on hotspots. This place is cute and the coffee is good as well as baked goods. The one thing I did not like and that may be enough for me not to come back or recommend is the owner came outside where I was sitting and told me I could not use my e-reader, they don't allow laptops (I have an e-reader). I noticed there was no wifi, which is not a big deal, but to come and tell someone they cannot use their e-reader, which many of us who travel have our books or puzzle games that you can play that don't use internet. (I was doing a puzzle and then going to read) Maybe just the approach was enough to put me off. I did not see any signs in there that said no e-readers or laptops. If there was, I would not have brought my reader. Plus, they do run a real estate business there and I am sure they have a computer. But, it is their business and they can dictate what they want. All in the approach, which was enough for me to never return. read more

Rude owner! Waxy cups. We were happy to find this place so close to our Airbnb. We were greeted very kindly and got 2 cups of coffee for $10 tipped $2.50 went and sat on the porch in an old pew chair. I propped my feet up on an old wooden bench in front of the pew And the owner with white hair came out and walked by me while he was feeding his goldfish said, get your feet off my table very rudely! The bench was the perfect height to prop your feet. I had on clean sneakers. He could've kindly ask, but he said it in such a way that caused me to write this bad review. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this great little shop. After walking and shopping, we stopped in and had a coffee and homemade dessert and sat in fun and regal chairs and had a visit and then left refreshed. It was delightful. Lots of fun art lines the walls, mostly with a "Key West" vibe. Very Florida-ish and bright and lovely.
