Don't let the name fool you. This coffee house has fabulous coffee and treats along with an ambience that cannot be matched. The interiors are like sitting in a very eclectic living room room in an old home in the heart of St Augustine. They also have an Airbnb property attached to the Coffee house that is worth checking out.

I live in St Augustine , Fl and love this warm and friendly coffee house. The baked goods are outstanding and the atmosphere is serene. The owners are delightful and accommodating and treat you like family. Everyone should stop here for an enjoyable experience.

Wonderful, cozy coffee shop with beautiful artwork created by the owners of the shop. Beautiful big front porch surrounded by plants and flower gardens. Diane and Theo the owners are the warmest, most welcoming people with a gift for creating a comfortable place to relax and connect with others. Delightful coffee and a nice selection of home made pastries made fresh daily. We like their policy of no electronics, takes us back to simpler times where people actually talked to each other and connected! We will recommend Coffee House Realty to everyone we know who is planning a trip to historic St Augustine.

Arrived just after opening - she just pulled croissants out of the oven. Hot and delish! Lattes were great! Staff and other patrons very friendly. Lots of cool art on the walls. It's quiet and pleasant to enjoy your morning coffee. We come every time we are in town.

This gorgeous coffee house has become my morning go to this past week. I discovered today that they are closed on Monday's- shame. I started with cafe con leche and just love that strong cup of coffee! The house has plenty of art everywhere, lovely seating inside and out. I prefer sitting on the porch swing, & have thoroughly enjoyed morning coffee and various baked goods! I also tried my cafe con leche iced, iced and hot lattes & I am working my way through the pastry case. The cherry-cheese croissant was delicious! I also loved the spinach croissant. The favorite is the almond croissant- that was exceptional! This spot is a block from where I am working and I simply adore the gardens.

This place is amazing! It feels like a little home and encourages people to interact with each other than to work on computers. The owners are amazing. Super friendly and gives neighborhood vibes. There are a bunch of games inside you can play. And the syrups are montet and top notch. My coffee was delicious and my quiche was decent.

Coffee was good. Owner (red hair), unfortunately, was rude to various customers while I was there. Disappointed and will not return.

During that initial stay, I walked here a couple of times to pick up treats and they didn't disappoint. Since then it has become a go-to when we have guests visiting and want to have dessert on hand. It is a pretty interior space with desserts and treats galore. They are beautifully made and a treat for all your senses. The staff on my visits have always been so friendly and helpful. (I love the southern hospitality we experience at so many places in St. Augustine.) My favorite treat may just be the cannoli. They are smaller sized than what I am used to back home...but this is good thing! in my opinion. There are an assortment of chocolates, brownies, cookies, some candies, croissants...and a variety of cakes and pies. We are not huge sweets eaters but this place is hard to resist.

The stand outs were the pumpkin flavored desserts including the cheesecake. They were so flavorful, I kept going for more. I also got the raspberry cheesecake which didn't have enough raspberry flavor but had a delicious crust. I will come back here the next time I'm in the area and try more.

I ordered two glasses of Prosecco and she informs me that they are out of Prosecco. What!? I then order a can of IPA and a glass of white wine for my gf, which took way too long to get. Plus my beer wasn't even that cold and her wine wasn't good either. I asked about the cheese tray + wine and she looked confused. I asked her what cheeses came on it and she said she didn't know, but she'd find out, but never did. lol. I came here prepared to buy a bottle of Prosecco and a cheese tray to sit outside and enjoy with my gf but that didn't happen. If you are working at a place you should know the couple things that you do serve and know them very well. There also wasn't any clean glasses for the spa water. The deserts did look good but god forbid I asked either of them a question about them because they would have looked at me befuddled. I highly doubt I'll ever come back here again. Good luck with your questions and selections.

The cake pop was really the only item that drew praise from my crew. Breakfast croissants were "mid" per my teens... I now know what an overdone eggs tastes like. The "pancakes" were thick and more of a biscuit like consistency. Next time, will likely stick to the pastries in the window.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

The Bloody Mary is where it lost me. $15 is a serious price for a cocktail, and mine arrived as a tall glass of ice with what was left over poured around it. By the time I was a few sips in, it was mostly meltwater. For that money I'd expect the drink to outlast the ice. Suggestion for the house: given the name, lean into it. Send everyone home with a free bag of ice -- at least then I'd feel like I paid for something I got to keep. Would go back for the food. Would think twice before ordering another cocktail.
