Cute little diner. Cook is preparing food right in front of the bar-nothing to hide. I ordered eggs over medium, bacon crisp, grits and toast. Easy peasy, right? Should've been. Eggs were a tad runny (I opted to keep them in lieu of time), toast was not 'crisp'-just a little under cooked, and bacon came out normal-not crispy/not soft. Flavor was good, grits were delicious I think the cook may have been in a hurry as there were two additional orders of undercooked eggs that came back to him while we were sitting there. He was less than pleased, but remade the orders. I can't say that I would not go here again, but the cook could do better by spending the extra 30 seconds it takes to actually finish cooking the food. Good service from the waitress.

I have enjoyed eating here a couple of times. The staff were friendly and inviting. The restaurant reminded me of a Waffle House with its similar arrangement.

Love the food but have concern about safety of the plasticware tumblers with chips & cracks on the rim top of all tumblers at my table.

If you like a great traditional home style short order breakfast then this place is for you. It's very similar to a Waffle House style restaurant with counter and booth service. The waitresses are very friendly and take care of you. They have a wide variety of options including the traditional eggs, bacon and sausage as well as waffles, pancakes and omelettes. They also do a chop steak or country fried steak. We had the biscuits and gravy and the Big T Omelette with a side of toast and grits. The biscuits are light and fluffy and the sausage gravy is delicious. The Big T comes stuffed with hash browns, sausage, bacon, ham, cheese and tomatoes and onions. It is topped with sausage gravy. It was filling and delicious. My only negative remark would be that the grits could have been hotter and had more salt. However, I am admittedly very critical when it comes to grits. Overall, we really enjoyed our breakfast and I recommend a the Coffee Shoppe to anyone in the area.

    Lord's prayers.

Food is okay. Older lady that works there was rude. The facility was dated and dirty.

But as the saying goes: never judge a book by its cover. We were absolutely blown away by the experience. Despite the modest exterior, the food is nothing short of world-class. I ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked to absolute perfection--tender, flavorful, and easily one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Since we were a large group, we ended up ordering a significant portion of the menu. Between us, we tried the fish, shrimp, and various pasta plates. It felt like we sampled almost everything they offer, and every single dish was an absolute hit. It's rare to find a place where the entire table is equally impressed with their meal, but Basil & Baxter's pulled it off effortlessly. Beyond the incredible kitchen, the service was outstanding. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and handled our group with the kind of professionalism that makes a night out feel special. If you're in Niceville, do not pass this place up. It might look humble from the street, but the flavors and hospitality inside are massive. We will definitely be back!

She was so welcoming and thanked us for allowing her to serve us. Ambiance reminded me of Germany, as the owner had lived there for years and brought it to Niceville with her. Food was great, schnitzel was perfect, just like back in Germany. Our son had the Jaeger Schnitzel, my wife had the plain Schnitzel and I went for the Bangkok Schnitzel, all three were on point, our daughter went for the Currywurst which was a good level of spice. My Bangkok Schnitzel had a Thai Curry sauce and pineapples, it was a nice fusion. The bread was homemade and we ordered a second basket, because who doesn't love a great homemade bread? He ordered the jagerschnitzel with spaetzle and mushroom gravy, and had enough to bring some back to the condo. He proclaimed it very tasty and five-worthy, in his opinion. We also shared a pretzel with cheese sauce, and they gave us some delicious tasting homemade bread. The unsweetened iced tea tasted delicious once the pink stuff was added, and that's only saying something because you wouldn't believe how often the iced tea stinks in restaurants. They had next to nothing for vegetarians, since they seem to enjoy putting bacon in everything. Why? They kindly swapped the Swiss cheese (blech) in the kasespatzle for Alfredo sauce, and I got a cute salad plate too. It tasted fine, I had no complaints. I would like to point out that, according to the interwebs, "In 2022, about 8.12 million people in Germany identified as either vegetarians or largely forgo meat consumption." Meat substitutes like quorn are quite facile to work with, and make excellent meat substitutes in traditional dishes. Try it!
