Not going back! Completely off my list. The link sausage never browned and sent it back twice. By the time I got the sausage back, I had finished my meal. Coffee tasted watered down. Just a bland breakfast. Waitress took drink order then did multiple things before she brought my coffee. I got the view of the outside ac unit. I was really excited to try this place as I'm new to the area and it came recommended by my coworkers, but I ended up being very disappointed. I got an omelette but the omelette itself was maybe 1mm thick? 1.5mm if I'm being generous. I swapped cheeses and was charged $3 for a minuscule amount of cheese and wasn't told there'd be an upcharge. None of it felt like restaurant quality. The service was mediocre and was never offered a refill on my drink. I'm just saddened by the poor quality of food and the overall experience. Average but local favorite place to eat. Back for my 3rd time as this place is not too far from the church we attend. We arrived around 9:30 and were able to get in. As different churches were let out the customers coming here had a wait by the time we left. Usually pancakes, waffles or breakfast sandwiches and scrambled/easy over eggs have been ordered in the past, with success. This time all 4 of us ordered omelet's. #1. Loaded omelet $13.49. I'm thinking this is a 2 egg omelet as the egg part was so thin you could hardly taste the egg. Not even sure how they were able to fill it with so much filling without it breaking apart. Inside was green pepper, onion, ham, bacon, sausage, tomato, American cheese and hash browns. Biscuit and and cheesy grits were chicken for the sides. The omelet was full and tasted with all the ingredients. On the first bite a cold chunk of sausage was a surprise but the remainder of the omelet was warm. Cheese grits were pretty tasteless. Salt, butter and hot sausage was added to help but it did not really help. It tastes more like a cream of wheat than grits. The biscuit was ok. #2 Veggie omelet $11.59. This omelet has green peppers, onions, tomato and mushrooms with cheddar cheese. It was pretty skimpy. A biscuit and home fries were the sides picked. Nothing special here. #3 under the Supersized omelettes a ham and cheese was ordered. The omelet did take up more space on the plate. But it was skimpy inside also with a chunk of cheese in one bite and that was the cheese for the whole ham and cheese omelette. A side of biscuit and hash browns with hash browns which were pretty generic. #4 also under the Supersized Omelettes for $11.49 but not sure why because it looked like the first two was ordered the Polish Omelet. This omelet has green pepper, onion, polish sausage and cheddar cheese inside and like the other omelets, except the loaded omelet, was pretty skimpy. All 4 of us agreed that the omelets were not that good and will not order again. Customer service was excellent which helped to bump this to a 3 review. We will still go back here but just not order the omelets. read more

Four of us went and the staff were very friendly! I ordered the ribeye and eggs which were cooked perfectly and tasted phenomenal. We also ordered the lumberjack breakfast and the western omelet, both of which got rave reviews. From the outside of the restaurant is a nondescript exterior, but once you go in you'll see a cute interior of vintage kitchen decor/memorabilia and beautiful wooden booths. On their website you'll find the statement: "Since opening May 1, 2005, we've treated every customer like they were a part of our family." Much to our pleasure, the greeting and attentiveness we received on our recent visit filled that statement perfectly. Our servers were efficient, congenial, and friendly. They checked back on us several times during our visit. 5 Star Service! Now, as for the food...In my family we have some great cooks including a professional chef, some really good cooks, and a few other family members who have trouble boiling water. Somewhere in between those boundaries is where we found the food/chef skills at Neighborhood Cafe. To our chagrin, our breakfast fare was just a run-of-the-mill, nothing special meal. The reviews I had read had gotten my hopes up, but the reality is that while the service is A+, the food is just C or average at best. The omelets my wife and I ordered (a Polish Sausage and Veggie and a Veggie and Cheese) were cooked as requested. And the home fries accompanying mine were very, very tasty. In fact, the seasonings of pepper, salt, and (likely) thyme were the most savory part of this meal. Sadly, those two things - eggs and potatoes - were the highlights. The grits were gritty, dry, and as bland as they possibly could be. The toast was slathered with margarine to the extent that my wife scrapped it off in blobs (check the pic.) My buttermilk biscuit was baked and browned nicely, flaky and tender. But there was a slight metal taste (perhaps the leavening?). I'm sure that could be masked with a good portion of gravy. Finally, presentation was sorely lacking: no flare, no garnishes, (except one small slice of Kielbasa on my omelet and a slice of mushroom on my wife's). That's a creative way to identify which is which, but is rather sparse in terms of presentation. And although both omelets were cooked successfully, for the most part, the taste was uninspiring - very little seasoning. So our trip to the neighborhood was not a trip to Grandma's or Cousin Rob's but rather one to an unnamed relative's house where they have a penchant for reheating store-bought breakfast items. I still recommend this place for fair prices and relatively consistent food - just don't expect anything fancy or dressed up. read more

This is the local mom-and-pop restaurant that you think of when you reminisce of your hometown. Neighborhood Cafe is a breakfast/brunch spot to grab a cup of coffee and a plate of eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. They were previously located in the TJ Maxx strip mall in between the PetLand and Tropical Smoothie Cafe, however they have moved into the former bank at the entrance of the plaza. Their new location is spacious and bright, but it still captures the small town charm. The kitchen and seating areas are much larger and spread out, so the wait times have dropped significantly. The food is always served hot, the hashbrowns are crunchy, the ham with the bone in, the sunny-side up egg yolks are runny, and the toast is pre-buttered. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu whether it's the french toast, BLT, or their version of pigs in a blanket. read more
