I think I tried a chocolate coconut latte but it was called choconana or something. I thought it was chocolate banana. Idk it was confusing. But the drink turned out good. My friend got a tea latte which she liked. Served in a cute mug for here. The guy at the register was nice and informative. Not very sure if we would come back though. It's small so if you go during peak time you might have to sit outside. Hannah B is sweet, and very helpful. She understands what it means to give good service and she takes the extra time to go the extra mile. Now to the food: I had 2 breakfast tacos and a bacon egg and cheese croissant. My favorite by far was the croissant. It was delicious!! I didn't care for the Mediterranean breakfast taco, but the quality of ingredients was good. Tip: The building says coffee on the outside and Good company on the door. I thought I was in the wrong place at first. I look forward to coming back when it's not a Saturday morning. I appreciate that. Blueberry Matcha: I'm a fan, but not a fan of matcha. To explain, not everyone knows how to balance the taste of matcha. It's either way too earthy/gritty or not sweet enough, it has been rare that someone knows how to balance that combination. I have never tried a blueberry matcha and was excited to see this was one of our options. This was superb. The blueberry wasn't in syrup form, it was a blueberry foam that added the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness. This is something I'd get again, and again. Too many people ruin matcha's with syrup that swims on the bottom, here, not even. Seasonal: White Chocolate Rose Scone I'll admit, I'm not a scone person. The scones I've tried in the past, were hard and flaky and that's what turned me away from there. But this scone was soft and moist, I truly enjoyed every bite. I am now open to trying others, but only at this cafe. Cheddar Chive Biscuit: My favorite. Well, my favorite is their Pepper Jack Jalapeno Biscuit, so this will be my second. I warmed it up and added a touch of butter, OOOHHWEEEE, it more than hit the spot. I can't wait to have one again. With this latest visit, I learned they alternate their biscuits monthly and they have calendars available to remind their patrons. Staff is helpful and I haven't had anything I haven't enjoyed from here. They do want folks to leave pretty quickly when its closing time, to the point at the 5-10 min mark they start going around to customers to say hey we're about to close up. Which when the book club is only an hour it sometimes cuts a little short when it lands on a day they close at 8pm but totally respect needing to let the staff get out on time.

Kellan was super personable and patient when I was snapping photos and asking 100 questions. I was able to meet one of the students, forgot name (sorry), but he was also fantastic as the first thing I noticed he did was start necessary tasks like cleaning surfaces and refreshing coffee ground trays. As well as the pastries I grabbed a drip coffee. The shop had two flavors: breakfast blend or a pecan. Since I love pecan coffee that is what I ordered and it is delicious. Smells and tastes like praline pecan and is smooth with little acidity. I need this flavor all the time! I'm so happy I stopped by and I look forward to my next visit.

They also shared that the employee helping me was in her first week, which gave helpful context to the situation. As a kind gesture, they sent me a $10 gift card, which I thought was very thoughtful. When I came back in to use it, they recognized my name from the situation and took the time to talk with me in person and explain everything again. That really meant a lot and showed how much they care about their customers. Customer service and communication go a long way, and I'm grateful for the way they handled everything. I'm looking forward to continuing to support them. Old review: Melby's has really great drinks and the atmosphere is honestly one of the reasons I keep going back. It's a cozy spot and the coffee itself is consistently good. That said, the customer service can be hit or miss. The employees often come across as a bit unpleasant, which takes away from the experience. One thing that's especially frustrating is their refusal to allow personal cups. Almost every other coffee shop I visit is happy to accommodate this, and it doesn't require much effort, many places simply set the cup on the counter and pour the drink without even touching it. It's a small thing, but it makes a difference for customers who are trying to reduce waste or just prefer using their own cup.
