Kindred Coffee is one of the places in rotation for a book club my wife is a part of. Its a nice location due to its proximity to other things if you want to eat elsewhere or need to stop for something on your way back home. Staff is helpful and I haven't had anything I haven't enjoyed from here. They do want folks to leave pretty quickly when its closing time, to the point at the 5-10 min mark they start going around to customers to say hey we're about to close up. Which when the book club is only an hour it sometimes cuts a little short when it lands on a day they close at 8pm but totally respect needing to let the staff get out on time. read more

Kindred Coffee continues to be one of my favorite coffee shops. The staff are friendly and they get your order out quickly. I love that they have a rotating menu of drinks, including seasonal ones. I ordered the brown bear latte with 2%milk which had brown sugar and cinnamon in the drink. The latte was flavorful with an abundance of sugar and a nice kick of espresso. Kindred gets plenty of natural light and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food/pastry and drink as well. I look forward to my next visit. read more

The Banoffee Choffee seasonal latte had a perfect banana-caramel flavor, and the Matcha Tea Latte struck a great balance between vanilla and matcha. I had the Lavender Latte and coffee cake. The mug is huge and it was delicious and so pretty. The coffee cake is enough for 2 people to share. It was pretty good. It did taste a little dry. It was 2pm. So maybe it was from the morning. It was served warm. You order at counter and pick up when ready. They didn't call our bar or number. So, we just had to keep an eye out. Great place to meet a fried and play a game, chat, learn something new. Plenty of room and we didn't feel rushed. When you are done, you clear your own space and put in dish bucket. It was over flowing and should be emptied more frequently. I find it kinda gross to look at a stack of dirty dishes. (That is why the got 4 stars) read more

Update- My friends live close here so I was bound to return However my latest visit was not great. With every single coffee shop I've been to, I've been able to get a remake or a new coffee if I'm not a fan of the flavor. This barista or manager I don't know really was trying to tell me I'll have to charge you 50% for it- it's a drink and I'm a return customer - really?! The valentines latte I got was horrible. Do not recommend. Thankfully another barista said ok and allowed me to get my usual vanilla and honey latte which was much better. Also I keep forgetting that even though it's awesome that they make pastries in house I don't love the brownie. Also the place is kept on freezing for some reason! read more

UGH.....If you want to terrorize your customers maybe take a sick day. There was a really simple miscommunication about what I ordered and the girl there just made me feel horrible and shamed me in front of other customers. When I asked who the manager was, she said she wouldn't tell me and I could try to come back when ever they were there.....smh and then proceeded to tell me that the manager would have treated me even worse.... I've fallen for Kindred coffee! I had been intending on stopping by here for awhile as I regular a number of the places here off of Davis and North Tarrant and had heard great things. During my first visit I fell in love with a chocolate banana smoothie they had at the time, I'm a sucker for chocolate banana flavored drinks and treats. The coffee options I've liked more than options I've had at most chain coffee options. I had gotten a sausage roll to split with a friend, which they liked more than I did but I have to admit it was big! I've enjoyed trying other options they have over time. There are a lot of places to sit and enjoy your drink and chat with some friends. During one visit I did note they had a sign saying no outside food or drink. Which I get, especially with the pizza place and mochi donut place not having seating and they don't want folks taking up their seating from paying customers. I feel like it would be asking that if you do bring outside food you must have a purchase from Kindred to hang out/use their seating. Cause that's what I've seen most other indie or chain coffee spots do. Then that way you're still supporting the neighboring businesses ... and I feel like you could earn some extra, thinking on parents getting coffee and a snack here while kids, that may be on the picky side, get a drink and have a pizza to split. read more

I genuinely think Kindred Coffee is the best coffee in the area. I love the Grizzly Latte and the Chocolate Almond if you're looking for a recommendation. Be warned for the coffee buzz, their regular lattes have 4 shots! I go here weekly to sit in the coffee shop ambience or just to try a new latte, and I have yet to be disappointed, their roast is never burnt, the milk ratio is creamy and light and the service is immaculate. HIGHLY recommend the breakfast muffin with chunks of pineapple...so good!. I have training for my new job every Wednesday right next door and now I can't go home without stopping in! Key West salad is also so great! I wish I lived closer so I could try it all! Staff is helpful and doesn't make you feel overwhelmed standing there trying to order. And I didn't love the oat milk, too strong of a flavor. My medium oat milk latte was about $7.50. Medium Americana black was about $5. I think the atmosphere justifies the price- IF you are looking for atmosphere. And maybe the food would raise it to 5 stars... the pastries looked delicious. I will NOT buy my coffee beans from anywhere else than right here at Kindred. The in house roasted beans are the BEST in the area and makes my (much needed!) morning home brew in my Breville machine miles better than an in house barista made brew from any of their rival coffee shops! Second time at Kindred, the first time I ordered an Americano to go and received only a half full cup. I had the staff add hot water to fill the medium (not large they only have small and medium sizes which is ...meh) so in filling my cup I was offered no apologies nor did the staff look surprised at the lack of product I paid for. I was confused, service wasn't nice but the Yelp reviews were so I and didn't return for a while and I opted not to post about what I assumed was an off day. Wanting to give Kindred another chance I stopped in for a coffee to enjoy inside and I have to say, my experience is not on par with other reviews. The young lady at the counter was not courteous, she was far more interested in rapid orders, and bouncing between two registers to provide any level of service, even with only two patrons in line- myself being one of them. Her ordering quickly does nothing for the barista actually making the coffee, so you still have wait, you're just not waiting in her line. I waited a normal coffee shop time and watered the poor dying/ dried out plants on the counter while there. Received my beverage and turned to the self service bar to find the cream empty so again I'm back at the front requesting that should have been caught by an employee with no "oh let me fill that" or "thank you for letting me know" just a carafe grab with no eye contact but hey, ordering is fast. I do like the taste of the coffee, the indoor decor is very nice and they will stay in business for the location alone but it's not friendly or excellent in any regard. Giving 3 stars based off two visits within a three month time span. Will take my money elsewhere. read more

Its not too sweet at all! the small was $5 something which was expected. Great wifi Lots of seating inside and out. Only con is that the place echoes a lot. Everyone's voices sounds double the volume so if you're looking for a place to concentrate and not be too distracting I wouldn't recommend. First time there. Walked in and the place was pretty busy. That was a plus, ordered a lavender latte which was really good I had never had one before. I also ordered a cranberry lemon scone. I stopped by Kindred Coffee to finish up some work. There is plenty of parking in front and to the side of the building when you arrive. There are also at least 20 tables where you can work inside. Kindred Coffee was serving holiday drinks, and I couldn't resist ordering the peppermint patty latte, which was delicious. By the way, the small lattes contain two espresso shots, while the medium lattes have four espresso shots. I'm looking forward to visiting Kindred Coffee again in the future. read more

Can't believe I have been in the DFW area for 3 years without finding this place. Oatmeal raisin cookies bigger than my head (Ok well maybe not that big, but they were huge!). A latte with the designs in the foam beans that were that right kind of medium roast for a well balanced espresso. Best part plenty of seating.
