Stopped by on a Monday early afternoon around lunch hours, and the place was quite busy, which is always a good sign. The space is roomy with couches in the back, and plenty of people were working or studying, so it has a relaxed, productive vibe. I tried their lavender latte, oat milk latte (extra hot), and of course their drip coffee because you cannot judge a coffee shop without trying the drip. The drip was excellent, rich, well balanced, and tasted very fresh, clearly brewed fresh. The latte was just as good, creamy with proper foam and a smooth lavender flavor that did not overpower the coffee. The only small hiccup was that we were told the drinks would be brought to our table, but after waiting a bit I went up to grab them myself. I may have misheard, so it was not a big deal. Overall a great experience, comfortable atmosphere, plenty of seating, and genuinely solid coffee. I stopped in after lunch this time but will definitely be back to try their food next time. read more

I love coming to Roots when I'm in the area. The quality of the drinks and the friendliness of the staff is consistent. Roots has plenty of natural light which adds to the cozy atmosphere. The prices for drinks are pricey, so this will be an occasional treat. IIf you sign up for their rewards they periodically will send you $3 off a drink which I redeemed for this visit. I got the warm cookie butter latte from their seasonal menu. The latte was subtly sweet while the taste of espresso was strong. I enjoyed my drink and look forward to returning to try their honey and olive oil loaf. read more

This is my second time coming to Roots. And it was OK. I got the lavender honey latte I guess the 16 ounce size is their large and I had it there in store so it was served in a nice ceramic mug. But it was tepid. And the place was kind of dirty. Tables were dirty. I have to flick crumbs off the table to sit down. I am instantly put off. I think in this economy and especially the economy that's coming... Everybody in service is going to have to step up a little bit more to keep customers because we have a lot of choices where we can spend our money if we even choose to spend it at all. I'll give this place another shot, but for having spent $10 with tip, I think I would've gotten a better coffee at ( shudder ). McDonalds. read more

I love local coffee shops and Roots doesn't disappoint. It's cozy and inviting. There are spaces to linger and spaces to work. The staff is incredible and coffee DELICIOUS. I appreciate their rotating seasonal menu, gluten free options, and the cortado - it's the best in town. read more

I loved this place! With exposed brick walls, high ceilings and a disused piano on display, this felt like a quintessential coffee house. They use Novel Roasters coffee beans and had plenty of bagged beans, mugs, t-shirts and other merch available for purchase. I tried an oat milk latte which was not too sweet and piping hot. They do have a pastry case with plenty of items to choose from. This was an ideal space for grabbing my laptop and getting a little work done. The place was well staffed and my drink was delivered quickly. Don't miss the giant bonus room in the back with comfy couches and a community bulletin board next to clean bathrooms. I guess Roots turns into a bar at night? I saw beer taps at the counter, next to Topo Chico. read more

Great coffee house, lovely staff. They have a small food menu, and regular and gluten free baked treats. Normally I get a lavender honey latte, but it was evening on a weeknight so I did a decaf of the same drink. It was great. Not the same as caffeinated, of course, but still lovely. I met a friend here, it was her first time. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Wish they had more cozy nooks, they fill up fast, even on weekdays. Wish I had gotten some pictures of our great time there this evening. read more

I've been coming here for 10 years. Ownership changed a couple of years ago and things aren't quite as nice as they used to be. All of the delicious pastries they source through Main Street Bakery in Grapevine are no longer available (sausage rolls, muffins, etc) An iced latte is now $7.30. Oh and half the time they make my lattes with expired dairy products :( I highly recommend Babalon coffee across the street. Everything is baked from scratch and they have reasonable prices. read more

This is a really cozy coffee shop with a lot of interesting flavor options. I personally opted for something more simple (oat milk latte) so that I could taste the espresso more, and it was really good. They also had tasty sounding food options that we didn't try this time around, but will definitely need to order in a future visit. It was the weekend, so seating was very limited (we snagged one of the last available tables). That's the only heads up especially if you are looking for a quieter place to enjoy a cup of coffee. read more

Stopped by Roots Coffeehouse for a morning coffee. When you arrive there is plenty of parking in front of the building. The coffee shop is large and is right across the street from Tarrant County College. This seems to be a popular spot where students come to study. I ordered the Honey Vanilla latte which was so good and they also roast Novel Espresso beans which are always good. I will definitely be visiting Roots Coffeehouse in the future. read more

Honey vanilla latte with a double shot of espresso is divine. I stopped by because I wanted coffee and wanted a shop where I hadn't been before. Service was friendly and fast. The place was busy and yet had a no wait line. Seriously -- I'm not making this up. The shop is comfortable. You can bring in your LT or tablet and use their wifi. Roots is green aware (greenwareusa.com), plus utilize disposable cups/tableware and all made is USA. They have tons of scones and muffins and goodies, or carrots and celery if you prefer. I LOVE LOVE LOVE roots!! I come all the time but today I walked in and the barista behind the counter was eating a full togo plate of food and her open topo chico was sat right next to the coffee bar. I'm a barista as well and I just thought that was off putting and actually made me reluctant to order. I noticed she didn't wash her hands after putting the plate of food down and also got my order wrong and didn't call my name when it was ready. So, when I finally turned around to check to see if my food was ready, it was but i'm not sure for how long. Long enough for my toasted bagel to become room temp. I enjoy working at Roots in my free time but this instance was definitely not the best. I just wanted to make this known. read more

The prices here are insane! If you get in on their texts you'll get coupons, but with those coupons the price for a latte will be what a regular coffee shop is. The coffee is good, not out of this world but it is yummy and the staff is kind. It's a cute ambience and is always clean. This isn't a beer half-drunk- this is how they served it to me. Didn't drink out of it when picture was taken- half a glass, foam all out. I asked them isn't there supposed to be more. Nothing special about it, no whip, drizzle etc. Literally just an iced vanilla latte. Also the hanging rope plant fixtures could use a good dusting. This is my favorite cafe ever, their avocado toast is the best avocado toast ever, I also always get their foggy london and they always have best and have the nicest employees because one time i spilt my coffee and they gave me another without charge and cleaned it up I felt awful but they handled it well, they also always remember my order. The cafe has very chill vibes good for studying unless someone decides to bring a loud group in. read more

I came here to do some remote work, take a few calls, etc. It is located in strip mall and offers a small food menu. Parking was easy and since it was around lunch time, I was aiming to eat there as well. It was easy to find a table in the back, but the options were limited. I ended up right below a speaker so it was a bit loud for my call, but a good ambiance generally. I ended up ordering the Sweet and Spicy Melt, which was on their seasonal fall menu. It was turkey, with cheddar, bacon jam, and pickles, on sourdough. It was a large portion for the price and my only complaint was that the bread was too hard. It is kind of a key ingredient in a sandwich though. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly and it is a good place to meet with people and catch up. read more

Loved this place last time I visited the area so made it a first stop but it pretty expensive for the lack luster energy. I'll probably skip it for a while. Cute coffee shop full of plants! What more could you ask for? Great vibe. Great for working as there are additional plugs made available for power. Wifi is also a nice bonus! Staff was friendly and I loved drinking coffee out of a real cup vs plastic or paper. Coffee sure hit the spot! I love that there was a sugar free option for syrup, not so thrilled that skim milk wasn't an option. I'm diabetic and much prefer skim milk. Not sure I'll be back as I'm visiting from out of town. Did my research and had picked this place out ahead of landing in Dallas. Plenty of surface lot near the shop as well. read more

My daughter and I visited this coffee shop. It's cute and the employees were very friendly. I tried the chai and my daughter had an iced honey vanilla latte and a blueberry lemon ... bread? My chai was lacking in chai flavor and unfortunately tasted like cinnamon milk. My daughter said her latte was ok. Her pastry was good. How hard is it to pull a good shot of espresso and froth the milk without scalding it? It's actually quite difficult and so far in the mid cities area, this is the only shop I found that made an excellent cortado (unfortunately I tried a few others and was left quite disappointed). If you are a speciality coffee aficionado, and aren't really buying coffee-flavored milk, this is a legit shop when you don't have access to your home setup. read more

I would say I had a pretty good experience here for the most part. We were looking for something local and it was really easy to find this coffeehouse. The parking was not bad at all and it was pretty spacious inside. There was a lot of room for seating both in the front and the back that were very comfortable. I ordered the iced coffee which was delicious and my friend ordered the pour over which was also yummy if you like black coffee. We did get the brownie though and were not very pleased unfortunately. Overall though, the vibes were great. The staff were so friendly and helped us make our decision on what to get according to our liking! read more
