Although the beverages and food here are 3-4 stars, I sincerely dislike this Coffeebar location because of the employees. I have visited this location several times, and the employees have been rude, passive aggressive and have made me feel like I was wrong or stupid for asking questions regarding products. After another disappointing experience there today, I am turned off from ever going to this Coffeebar location again. Are the employees here that unhappy that they feel the need to lecture, correct and disrespect customers? What happened to the customer is always right? Do not recommend this place. Not sure if this is how they normally operate due to COVID but my experience was disappointing considering the price of the food. The coffee was good but the food was disappointing.... First of all, after requesting dietary modifications to the food the employee indicated they couldn't modify certain items because they are pre-made. Once placing an order I waited 20min to receive my food when we were the only people who had ordered in the shop. Second, the breakfast burrito is considerably less food compared to the breakfast bowl even though they have the exact same ingredients except for a tortilla, and costs a dollar more. Makes no sense. Lastly, on my breakfast panini the avocado was brown. Overall, great ambiance of the cafe & location but over-priced for disappointing food. Don't waste your time. read more

First time I came when they opened 2 years ago, and really enjoyed the raclette platter. I find the lines at the register long, but you get the drink fairly fast. You walk over to their espresso station, and barista prepares your drink in front of you, FACING you, with a lot of attention and creativity, the machine is under the counter, so you observe the whole process. The cappuccinos are fantastic. They always have kind words for your kids, and will answer all basic questions about the beans, sourcing and processing. Great people. Keep it up please! read more

Both were so watered down that I dumped them before my wife or I got even half way down. I'm not even sure the chai latte had espresso in it at all. Neither milk or milk substitute was even remotely hot. Energy balls saved them from a one star review, as they were quite delicious. Saturday morning, Memorial Day Weekend, I had their oatmeal and coffee, which was excellent. I sat on their patio with absolutely gorgeous weather. I came back in 20 minutes later to ask for water and stood in front of the barista for about five minutes. We made eye contact but she never asked if I could be helped. Another customer came in and was asked if she was there to pick up coffee. She asked for water and was directed to a fountain. I was never asked, why I might be standing there. But having heard where the water was I just went directly to the fountain. I am an Asian American, and rarely do I feel slighted due to my ethnicity. However, with today's anti American Asian environment, it did cause me to wonder if racism was at work here. read more

Super weird experience just now -- it took 30 minutes to get through the line and get our drinks. They were SO slow. The drinks are pretty good, but gosh it took forever. I think I paid for a "large" iced drink but my friend got a small and they're actually the same size? I'm not super sure we paid differently but we're confused. Also the drink I ordered was priced like it came with espresso and it was just milk and ice and lavender syrup. Quinoa bowl was the bomb, wasn't expecting it to be warm, which was a nice and tasty surprise, and the quinoa looked not like regular quinoa (tiny little circles that give me the heebie jeebies when I look at them up close), but sprouted, and tasted even better; husband liked the shredded sweet potato, slightly too sweet for me, but, all in all that dish was a healthy bomb! Husband had a muffin, not the bran, but another, not cakey (which he doesn't like), but grainy and moist (which he does). His iced decaf Americano was very strong the way he likes it. My husband and I eat here regularly during ski season. Some days the service is a bit slower, but the food has always been tasty, and most importantly, what you get is what is described on the 'menu'. Today was not the case. I ordered a quinoa bowl and received about 2 cups of quinoa, smashed avocado, an egg yolk without really any discernible whites (which seems hard to do), some wilted mixed salad greens and a few sunflower seeds. (Subbing mixed salad greens for pea shoots on a hot dish packed into a small container ended badly. (No sweet potato hash and no pea shoots. My husband ordered avocado toast and got no chili flakes and no pea shoots, but got mixed greens (which is fine on a cold dish but they should still make you aware of the substitution). It was a small really good place that expanded really fast and they seem to have sacrificed quality. It's a shame as squaw has already so few spots for a tasty lunch. read more

Good craft coffee is hard to find in destinations like Tahoe. There are only a handful of places and most call themselves craft coffee shops, but don't actually have good craft coffee. I go here every time I'm in Tahoe and it never disappoints (Other than we go too late in the morning and they run out of certain breakfast items, but that's my fault, not theirs). They know what they are doing with all their coffee drinks and I've never had a poorly pulled espresso shot or a bad pour over. Their food is good and healthy, and I love all the art in the place! A line tends to form if you are there on a weekend morning, but quality like this is worth the 5-10 min wait. read more

The breakfast pastries/goodies are exceptional and the coffee is excellent. Service can be slow due to low number of employees and high number of customers. We cancelled an order one day because it was taking forever. The next day when we returned the young woman remembered us even though we hadn't talked with her and she tried to comp us with coffee. This place needs to sort out their logistics issues and improve customer service. The staff there seem like don't know how to handle the crowd. My friends and I went there two weekends ago around 9AM and there were about 15 people in front of me. I ordered 1 burrito and the cashier gave me a number for my order. My friends behind me ordered 2 more burritos on a sperate order and the cashier put their food on my number as well. After we waited 20+ minutes for the food, the server gave us 2 burritos and tried to take away our number. We told her we are waiting for a 3rd one. She said:"I don't know, there are only 2 on the order". I tried to show her my receipt which says there's one more burrito under the same number. She just lost her patience and said "how about I give you a another one and let's stop all of this" and walked away. 10 more minutes later, she came back with the food and SLAMMED the plate on the table, walked away without saying anything. I get that the place was packed, but that's not how you treat your customers who paid for the food and tipped for the service. I've had my fair share of bad experience at restaurants and coffee shops. This one definitely is among one of the worst. This is my first time at a ski resort. I don't ski or snowboard but my boyfriend does so I came up to Squaw to take in the beautiful scenery while getting some work done. I was really worried about not being able to find a place conducive to working on a laptop (wifi and outlets being the most important). I read the reviews for the Starbucks in the Squaw Village and they were pretty negative- yelp says it's always packed. And yelp doesn't lie, guys. Never. Starbucks was completely packed at 830 am (might be because of its proximity to the lifts?). I was more than happy to get settled in at coffee bar for the day. Been here for over an hour so far and I love it! Lots of seating (inside, outside, high chairs, low chairs, stools, you name it). Free wifi is great and there are even tables outside!! It's a little too chilly for me to be outside right now though! My coffee probably took 8-10 mins to come out but they were really busy in the morning so I didn't mind too much especially because my cappuccino was absolutely delicious. Good coffee, perfect temperature and nice frothy milk. Their tea selection looks amazing - they have a decaf roobois latte that I'm eyeing up for later in the day. The people at the counter are super nice and personable. My favorite part is the view can't be beat. I'm literally looking at the slopes and tiny little ant-sized humans coming down the slopes as I write my thesis. I will be coming back here to write whenever the boyfriend decides to hit up the slopes next! read more
