Overall good food. Everyone was happy with their meal. We started off with the poke nachos ( they call it a tuna town which it wasn't) . They were on fried wontons- very good . Would order it again. Had the thai soup with shrimp- the shrimp were grilled perfectly ( they were juicy and tender , yet flavorful) the broth was a little on the thin flavorless side which is such an easy fix - just use more coconut milk. The noodles were a little hard to eat with the soup- didn't know whether to use a fork or spoon or both. The salmon with cheesy grits - the grits were delicious but the salmon seemed a-little mealy vs flaky . Maybe it wasn't very fresh but overall the dish was tasty and all the elements worked well together. read more

I wanted to try a new restaurant in the Squaw Valley village for my birthday, so we came to the 22 Bistro for apres drinks and snacks following our ski day. We snagged the last patio table around 4pm on a weekend. There is an amazing view of the mountain from this patio and it's a great people-watching spot while you hang out and relax. They don't have many waiters who come out to serve the patio, so the hostess told my husband he should go inside to order then the food/drinks would be brought out to us. I was expecting the food to take forever based on how busy they were but was pleasantly surprised that it was only a 15-20 minute wait! We got two appetizers, the baked brie and mediterranean platter. The baked brie was delicious but should have been served with apple slices, crackers, or something to dip with. The mediterranean platter came with all kinds of snacks including hummus, olives, feta, artichoke hearts, and pita. Prices were pretty standard for the village, more than you'd pay for the dish elsewhere but you're paying extra for the view and experience of enjoying it in a ski village. This was a better experience than I've had at other restaurants in this village, so I will definitely be coming back! read more

HUGE, gorgeous, filling salads! The 22 House salad with salmon is super high quality. Lots of lettuce (and I'm not talking cafeteria style iceberg or romaine -- I'm talking gorgeous spring mix)! + Candied walnuts, Gorgonzola cheese crumbles, and amazing dressing. The food itself was excellent. The tri-tip sandwich was juicy, flavorful and cooked perfectly. The homemade chips were crispy and fresh and well seasoned. The sweet potato gnocchi was made in-house and was sweet and delicious. The food was served hot and looked great. We came here on a Wednesday evening in early March. Not overly busy, one server and she was hustling. The overall interior was a little old and tired but not unclean or unkempt. We would definitely return. read more

Sit down restaurant with a bar and a lot of tables. We ate here inbetween skiing and it was a good break spot. We got the mezze platter and the chicken strips with beer. I enjoyed our food and convenience is what this spot is all about. Brussel spouts. I'm not sure why they are so prolific on menus. Aren't they out of style? I enjoy them so I guess not. These were pretty tasty, until I discovered something unappetizing hidden amongst the greenery. It was brought to our server's attention. She was embarrassed and apologetic and fired up a fresh order. How she handled it was exactly how she should have. We appreciated her grace. Anyway, enough of that. This place was what we expected for a restaurant off the slopes, filled with skiers. A fun atmosphere. My red river gin cocktail was different and enjoyable. We only came for a couple of drinks and appetizers. The Brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries filled us up. When leaving, I spotted some pho looking soup on our neighbor's table that looked amazing. we opted for this cozy little restaurant in the palisades village instead of the food court (which was crowded, and didn't have too many options). they have quick service and clean bathrooms, which is a plus! their menu had thrice as many options as the food court does (which featured $20 burgers and $30 ramen ). truffle bacon brussels sprouts: this dish was quite delicious. definitely priced on the steeper end, but i'm a huge fan of anything truffle. brussels sprouts were cooked to perfection, with an added crisp! the chicken sandwiches were much bigger portions than we were expecting. the chicken was good, but the bread was quite stiff. chicken wings were pretty standard across the board. solid restaurant to refuel with! check it out! read more

Great spot to grab early dinner, even with my dog! She enjoyed the open patio as we watched the finish for the ultra running race that was going on. Worried at first about the wait, but were quickly seated and served. the menu has a wide variety, Highly recommend the salad! The food is decent. We liked it enough that we would come back. It has a very young crowd for apres ski but would be fun. This was our choice one day after skiing with a group of 10. We put our names in and was estimated a 20 minute wait. After 45 minutes we checked in to see if there was an estimate. They said 10 more minutes- when we checked back and were shown to our table (for a group of 10) that only had 6 chairs. The hostess said she could pull up more chairs and we could squeeze in... we were all planning on eating meals, that clearly wouldn't work so we asked if we could combine with the empty table next to us to make it a little bigger so we could actually all fit. They initially denied us but when we explained how ridiculous it was to try to have a group of 10 sit at a table for six and explain how we've been waiting for 55 minutes when our quote was 20 they obliged. It was understandable that it would have a hard time fitting a large group of 10 but the back-and-forth and ridiculous. Ridiculous expectations were very uncool. read more

Great for a lunch between a day of skiing. We are inside but the outside tables seem perfect in warm weather. The menu is actually great. Not your typical crappy ski lodge fare. My gf and I stepped away from the Lake Tahoe Reggae Fest to beat the heat and buy some reasonably priced food and drinks compared to the ones being sold at the concert grounds. We showed up at 22 Bistro around 4:30 and stayed until about 7:30. Starting at a tall table by the front door then moving to the bar for conversation with the bartenders once seats opened up. The employees were pretty cool and just down to earth folk from Truckee. We shared the sweet potato fries which were AMAZING, they came with three sauces for dipping and that's always awesome. After a couple hours we got hungry again and shared the sliders. The plate came with two good small to medium sized burgers. All in all this place was fun to hang out at and I would go again just for the fries. read more

One of the servers physically grabbed my arm and shoved me. The servers and bartenders were horribly offensive. An officer took our statement after my fiancé was grabbed by the neck and other patrons saw what happened and how horribly we were treated. We just wanted a snack after skiing and so we decided to get 2 appetizers to share. We ordered the Kobe beef sliders and also the gochujang wings. Both were so delicious. We initially wanted a Mac and cheese, but they were unfortunately out of it. However, the food we ended up ordering were great so no loss there really. The gochujang wings were spicy and I loved that kick. The ranch did help to lessen the spice, but they were nice and crunchy. Such good wings! The Kobe beef sliders were delicious and so tender and juicy. I personally don't like bleu cheese, so I took it out of my slider. We decided to exchange the chips that came with the sliders for their sweet potato fries and GET THE SWEET POTATO FRIES! They were so crispy and sweet. I really liked it. read more

He made sure to fill us in on what was going on in town which was great! I got a espresso martini and it was amazing - the perfect mixture of coffee and vodka. We also got the tuna nachos and chicken wings which were both amazing. The wings came out hot and we're crisp to perfection - may be done if the best I've had. The chef or manager seriously needs to reconsider their serving sizes when they charge people $18 for a few pieces of lettuce and a coupon chopped beets. In the beginning I asked for the Mulled wine. Come to find out "they don't have that anymore" I said okay and continued to look at the drink menu but was confused since it was a few simple ingredients to make, knowing you simply can not "have it". So I asked if they were missing an ingredient as to why they would not serve it. She was very off about and not really sure of her answer and shrugged it off saying they just don't. I wasn't going to push it and went about ordering, thinking it was odd. The food was good on the plus side, we had the Chicken sandwich and the Tri Tip sandwich. Would of liked if the waitress would of told us there was an up charge on the fries because she asked if we wanted those or chips. Ended up being an extra $6 total on top of the already pricey plates. In the end I payed and was getting my gear on to leave and the waitress wanted to confront me and ask about if there was something wrong with her service after taking the check. The way she went about it was off putting and threw me off guard. It was extremely unprofessional and rude of her the way she was going about it. I'm not one to escalate so I just left.
