During my recent visit, I sampled the Shakshuka. While the flavors were commendable, it was presented with a singular poached egg and served at a temperature less than optimal. For the $16 price point, I anticipated a serving inclusive of two to three poached eggs, which is customary in many establishments. The coffee shop boasts unique beverage concepts and offers a variety of alt milk alternatives. However, they utilize Califia Farms oat milk, a choice I find less preferable compared to the Oatly brand. I think they should offer more food options to those who have more stringent dietary restrictions. All in all not a bad stop, its clean and the quality of the products are decent. read more

Sometimes local isn't better. I ran into someone walking through Olympic village and ask them, "where is Starbucks." the guy said, it's at the other end, but the Coffee Bar, right here, is much better oh, and it's local. So I said, what the heck let's give it a try. + Only one of the staff wearing masks contrary to California state law. + No nonfat milk. In fact no 2% milk. + Medium roast coffee simply tasted terrible. The cinnamon roll was good, but I wish I had bought it and carried it down to Starbucks. Unfortunately I ended up throwing away my full cup of coffee then walking to Starbucks. read more

The soup bowl was less than half full and covered on oil. The manager rudely told me that the portion size for a bowl of soup was one cup. When I asked her why didn't they advertise it as a cup of soup, she said that I could have my money back but did not offer to fill the bowl. The grilled cheese was cold by the time they served it to me. The menu says you're buying a bowl of soup for $8, beware it's really exactly 1 cup of soup! read more

Stopped by for early morning coffee and breakfast. They have a great selection of pastries and hot sandwiches. The coffee selection was also large as well but kept it simple and went with a shot of espresso. The best part was how dog friendly they are! We came inside with our pooch and he got excited by all the friendly smiles and pets from patrons and staff. The food and coffee was pretty quick and we just stood at a high top to quickly finish our breakfast. They also have some pretty cute merchandise with their logo and various prints. I ordered a vanilla oat milk latte and my husband ordered a caramel latte. We went to sit outside because it was warm inside. While we waited we never heard our name called so we went inside and saw the drinks on the counter! No big deal, till we noticed nothing was written on the cups to show the difference. We asked one of the ladies working if she knew what drink was which and she said "just drink them and find out"! I can't drink milk so if I was alone I wouldn't have been to do that due to being very lactose intolerant! Luckily my husband is not and figured out the drinks but I was very disappointed with the no labels and servers not knowing what drink is which since nothing is labeled! So maybe start writing on the cups? The coffee itself didn't taste that great and I ended up getting a Java smoothie instead from The Dam in town. read more

We have been to the coffee bar In Olympic Valley as well as the two in Truckee. We have enjoyed the experience in the past but today was a unacceptable situation. We ordered food for seven of us. Five of the orders were delivered to the table. The last two were forgotten. When one of our party went in to check, the young man blew him off by saying they were busy which they were. I then went in 10 minutes later, and the same young man said he would check on the order. A woman behind the counter said she would check and she did. Yes, they forgot the last two orders. They said they would get them ready right away. I went back to the table and wait for another 10 minutes and they did not arrive. I went back in and told them to forget the order and to give me a refund. The rest of the party was getting ready for the hike and we were delaying them. I did receive the refund for the two sandwiches and we left. Now that Starbucks is closed at the other end of the village. This location is very busy. The fact that the people behind the counter seemed overwhelmed, and stressed out is the fault of the owners/managers. I also noticed there were three people making coffee, including the young man and laughing a lot and not really stressed out. It was the rest of the people trying to take the orders and satisfy the food orders were stressed and understaffed. We have enjoyed the coffee bar in the past, which is a shame that has such a terrible experience. read more

Can we be real for a second? People on yelp suck a lot of the times! The bad reviews here are just from the bottom feeders of the world... This place is AMAZING! The coffee is better than any coffee ANYWHERE in Tahoe... I searched high and low for the best coffee in the area and I'd say a close second is the West Shore Market (great cold brew there as well). Anyone on Yelp comparing Starbucks to this place has 0 taste. It's MILES beyond Starbucks (unless you love the over roasted, burnt taste of oily coffee beans, then definitely go to Starbucks) Loved it and will go back every single day we are here, nothing better in a 50 miles radius. read more

What a great find! Located in the Village in Squaw Valley. On a Sunday morning, was staying steps away and in search of a coffee. It's the off season, so many of the shops were closed in the village. Fortunately, Coffeebar was open to get my fix. Always weary when trying new shops and decided on a cappuccino. Noticed they had a great selection of pastries. Also, saw they had a full bar. BUT, we had a brunch to head to, so no snacking. My cappuccino? Perfect. My date said his coffee was excellent, too. Bonus, was grabbing a quiet seat and looking at the view. I imagine during ski season that this is a great spot to warm up after some skiing. We had a second round, enjoying the brew, tunes & view. Service was friendly and brought my cappuccino out to me. Too bad we had to leave for that brunch. read more

I love cafes that have an espresso drink menu to help me pick from. I got the Cozy Cardamom latte which was perfect as we waited for lifts to open. I'd try the lavender latte or Home for the Holidays next time! Also the breakfast burrito looked great and is a few dollars cheaper than down at the bakery on the other side of the village. read more

Average egg sandwich w/bland scrambled egg, very few caramelized onions, pretty tasty cheddar on a brioche bun that was ok. The eggs seemed previously frozen or kind of like what you'd get at a cheap hotel breakfast buffet. Mocha and coffee was good, but I won't be coming back. Service wasn't great either (my wife asked what's on the egg sandwich) and the cashier just pointed and said it's there on the menu. Laziness and lack of smiles on the part of the cashier. I recommend he should become a plumber or find a different job not in hospitality. I can't believe I left a tip too. I need to stop doing that unless we're actually being waited on (unless they're being very personable and going out of their way to go above and beyond). This was Nov 4, 2024 just after 9 AM if any of you slacking owners / management would like to know which cashier worked today. Oh and our table was dirty when we sat down...which is not acceptable when workers are standing around just chatting with each other. I was excited to find a cute coffee shop in the area so easily, and the entire squaw village shopping area is so cute! The coffee was decent, I ordered a Lavender Latte and it wasn't overly sweet which I liked! I also ordered the veggie burrito bowl and I was kinda confused as to what exactly I was eating LOL. It tasted like airplane food. I give this place a 5/10, perhaps I'll try other items on the menu if I ever go again read more

Great selection of food & pastries which are all super tasty, and coffee is good all-around, but extremely pricey and the service & follow-through is disappointing. They're definitely staffing up which is a great sign, and the employees are generally nice, but you have to be on them about what you ordered & be prepared to spend a lot of time waiting and/or hunting down the items you ordered but which they forgot. It can take forever to simply get an employee's attention when it is busy! And then if you try and track down a manager to resolve an ordering snafu, they completely disappear and you have to follow-up after the fact via email or just let it go. A lot of positives but also a lot of room for improvement. I don't experience the same issues at the Truckee location. read more

It's a very cute local coffee shop with plenty of tables to study at! I spent a Friday here working while my friends were at the resort. The coffee and food is very very pricey but everything in the village is expensive so it was expected. For just plain coffee, there's a Starbucks nearby. The baked items were delicious. My friend ordered a veggie bowl and it was a very small and slightly disappointing bowl of food. I wouldn't go here for food. Instead, get the coffee + baked items! read more

Coffeebar is conveniently located in squaw valley. It took til the end of our first visit that weekend to realize it's the same coffee shop that we go to in Truckee. Overall, the coffee here is good. However, it is a bit inconsistent. Sometimes our lattes were perfect and others the milk was just frothy and not smooth. There's a large selection of pastries on the counter and warm meals above the register. The banana muffin we got was very dry and our friends that came in after said their hash was extremely salty with the rest of their order being very bland. read more

This coffee bar is just located in a beautiful little mountain town, so the vibe is already just wonderful. I love the outdoor seating and just the look of this cafe to start with. Unfortunately, we didn't get to spend too much time here since we were on a roadtrip and a time constraint. But the coffee and food was just great. The croissant and avocado toast we got were just mind-blowing. I love the cafe and I'd easily go back if I were in the area again. The only drawback, for lack of better words, is that everything is a little too pricey here. But so is every place in California for someone like me from Austin, Texas haha. And we have some really great coffee shop culture going in Austin! Apart from that, I'd really upvote this place. read more

I usually like staying put at Alpine but whenever I'm at Squaw I try to stop by this gem. I really appreciate that they have such friendly staff + that they are the same ppl that own the other coffeebars so it's not a total tourist trap situation in terms of food and drink quality. I no longer drink coffee but the matcha latte + hot chocolate here are both super good. I also love their cinnamon donut holes...make sure to ask for a side of whipped cream to dunk them in if you can! This season they also have cute little bicycle cups which are absolutely adorable! read more

Got the chance to visit the Lake Tahoe area recently for work and while staying at Squaw Valley I had this amazing coffee shop just a hop, skip and a step away. I first had it when I arrived, close to closing time. I was coming in on East Coast time and needed a pick me up so I got an iced tea to go. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was intoxicating. I found out that the rings and much of the wood/ski's used to decorate the walls were all donated! The second time I went in I got one of the awesome branded mugs (Miir) which gave me a free drink. The barista suggested I get the most pricey on the menu since I was buying the cup (hehe) so I got a lavender latte that was heavenly. I also got the veggie quiche which came out promplty. The staff was friendly, and very engaging with their customers whom you could tell were regulars. Very spacey location with lots of room for groups or indivduals who simply want to work on their computers. Bonus - I spotted olympic skiier Gus Kenworthy while I was in the shop. Very hip espresso and tea bar at the parking lot end of the Squaw Village. (Polar opposite of Dave's Deli) Great seating inside and outside...and lots of it!! A fine place to sit and chat or work on their free wifi. Way roomier than Starbucks and more comfortable than Wildflour if you plan to camp out for a while. The coffees are $2-3, which seems fair, and the Americano I had was tasty n dark. They have a couple types of sandwiches and brkfst items, soup, a salad. Menu is minimal but functional. Coffeebar is a locally owned badass business that keeps serving up quality. They started in Truckee and have expanded to Squaw and to Reno. What they don't skimp on is quality - and that's definitely reflected in their drip, espresso, and also - surprisingly - in the food they offer. As a keto, gluten-free type, I don't expect anyone to cater to me, and usually I just find something that looks okay that I can eat. Coffeebar has an actual "Keto bowl" that was absolutely delicious and I'd have a picture of - but I inhaled it. Lots of gluten free choices. The drip coffee is always perfect, with a choice of darker roast or medium style. Espresso is sweetly bitter, that crema just right every time I get a shot. I wish they'd open in Sacramento so I could get my daily fix. I make a point to come here every time I head to Olympic Valley. I suggest you do as well! read more

Barrista had a nasty attitude , got our holiday drink with no spice topping and extremely bland kindly asked for the sprinkle spices it said on menu and she poured the entire thing and said oh , purposely knowing . As a barrista how do you do that to customers. She's disgusting. Not only angry that she's making the drinks wrong but to be petty , how do you even employee people who HATE their job. Nothing about your holiday drink was special like the menu stated! BLAND we're talking coffee pot from Walmart type of coffee ! No spice no flavor no nothing read more

This business lucks out with its location. The coffee is ok - nothing unique in today's coffee culture. Got some pretty good heat- up food. But the staff are not all that great. It is hard work to get a smile. Not much personality. They all seemed kind of sluggish. Had to wait for two employees to finish their conversation before I got service. But the main thing is the lack of cleanliness and a clear sense that the employees don't care. The bathrooms are all gender and were pretty gross. No hand towels, low on seat covers. A giant roll of toilet paper hanging from the safety bar by way of a plastic trash bag. And pee on the floor. When I quietly mentioned it to an employee, the response was "Oh. That isn't our responsibility. Another company takes care of that. And it does get pretty bad sometimes." When I suggested they might want to make a call about it I got a shrug and the employee went away. It is too bad that the level of care and service is so lacking these days. Bummer After I wrote the above, I saw they locked the doors at 2:36 (their sign says they close at 2:30). About 5 customers were turned away over the next 4 minutes as a result. Of course, it is Sunday and it is understandable they want to get going as soon as possible. And they did serve everyone who was inside ... so that is nice. read more

Nice space and good drinks, but food can be super inconsistent. I've had delicious breakfasts and bowls. And then I've had similar stuff to what I had today: a tiny bowl missing ingredients and made up of the dregs of the remainder (a few lukewarm pieces of chicken, maybe a third a cup of dried-out rice, and a handful of pea sprouts) for $15. I get restaurants run out of stuff, but when they do, they should tell customers or take items off the menu. I'm gonna stick with drinks and pastries from now on. read more

Two words: Lavendar Latte. Delish. Got mine with almond milk. Fragrant and light. Love it! Breakfast panini also delicious. A bit of sea salt sprinkled atop the bread when it's done is a savory touch. Inside, it's clean, with full-length windows to drink in the mountain view. Spacious, with both bar seating and tables with chairs. Outside: Patio/ deck w/ stools and Adirondack chairs. I submitted a request on Evo Hotel's contact form 3 weeks in advance to request a large party reservation and got in contact with their events coordinator, Alexis. While the restaurant doesn't typically accept reservations, she offered an event hosting fee to confirm our large party of (originally) 12. I agreed to the charge (BTW, which was $990.23 after taxes and service charges, and required $750 food/bev minimum). This included 22% gratuity. Signed a contract. Soooo I basically paid almost a grand in advance. For a table that's not even in a private room! I just wanted the peace of mind :-/ A day prior, I let Alexis know that my party size had changed to 11, and she responded that it had been updated. OK COOL, CONFIRMED RIGHT???? LMAO The night of, the staff were completely confused why our big ass group was saying we had a reservation because, again, THEY DON'T TAKE RESERVATIONS! Only when I mentioned ALEXIS and showed the contract on my phone, they basically scrambled to get us seated ASAP. Fortunately there was space, but the restaurant was nearly full... Imagine if I paid $1k to wait outside for an hour or something??? Waitstaff were very flustered and apologetic, and throughout our meal I had to reexplain the situation to different people, who each seemed even more confused than the last. Frankly, I would've considered another restaurant when we found out the reservation wasn't honored but 1.) I already paid and 2.) where tf am I going to seat 11 people on short notice who are hungry after a day of hiking and climbing?! The food was just... Not good. I reached out to Alexis after my trip and requested a refund. While apologetic, she only waived the $750 minimum, 3 items and the soda, and still charged me for 22% gratuity. PLEASE BE SO SERIOUS LMFAO. I'd still tip 15% for the hardworking waitstaff-- or whatever the typical restaurant large party auto-gratuity is-- but 22% for all this mess????? And then as if it couldn't be a bigger mess, her email wrote the refund was $462.32, but the new attached invoice listed $426.32. Girl. To her credit she also sent a $50 gift card but unfortunately there's no way I'm coming back. This is probably the most negative dining experience I've had in a long time... I was genuinely shocked. Sad bc my bf and I stayed at Evo in Utah and had a great experience, and hyped it up to our friends (they have a rock climbing wall and a skate park in that location!!!), so this was a big disappointment from start to finish.
