I used to be a regular at Coffeeholic and brought a lot of visitors here. However, the last two times I went, I got a stomachache and so did my friend who was visiting Seattle. I noticed that they now pour drinks from a pre-made plastic jug instead of making them fresh like when the store first opened. I usually don't get sick from drinking coffee but twice in a row is pretty bad. Their drinks are also overly sweet and most of them do not have a 0% sweet option, which is usually what I order from other coffee and tea shops, and it's probably because most of the ingredients are pre-mixed. They also use thick plastic cups, considering that Seattle is a pretty green city and a lot of similar Vietnamese coffee shops use sustainable cups. Sad to say, but my time visiting this chain has come to an end. read more

I've been staying walking distance from here and have now come here three different times. I'm a huge fan of Earl Grey Matcha so I decided to try their Tokyo fog. which is iced Earl Grey tea with Matcha cloud foam. I found it very delicious and light and refreshing. If you're looking for a Matcha, the Matcha flavor isn't very strong and it mostly tastes like an earl grey latte, but it is delicious and creamy. I ended up coming back and getting it again but with extra Matcha foam for additional Matcha flavor. Absolutely loved this drink. I also got a Matcha latte with black sesame cold foam. I've had a black sesame Matcha from somewhere else before, and the sesame flavor was very light, so that was what I was expecting, but was met with a very strong sesame flavor. I was not a huge fan as it felt overpowering and I couldn't taste the matcha. However, this is just a personal preference thing and if you like black sesame you should definitely try it! I'm not sure what much they used, but it didn't taste like the best quality, but it is still delicious and their drinks are all fun . I've been on a matcha kick for a while, which means I've had a lot of really mediocre to bad matcha, with a good one from time to time. This place serves a really good matcha. And if you're like me and not from the neighborhood and want to try it all without having to decide, they offer this split cup where you can have two drinks. Coffeeholic House is one of my boyfriend's favorite go-to coffee place to visit whenever he is in Seattle. Since he was visiting for the holidays this year, he stopped by to grab coffee for the both of us while I was working. I requested for the Iced Peppermint Mocha Latte since it fit the festive mood at the time. However, it was not the best peppermint mocha latte I have ever had. It unfortunately missed the par and my standards of taste. The mocha flavor just didn't suit the peppermint flavor that was also in the drink. Fun little coffee house with very unique fusion flavors. This is definitely a treat place to stop by. We tried a dark night expresso latte (with black sesame cold foam), purple haze (ube latte with ube cold foam), and matcha purple haze latte. They were all tasty - the dark night was a little better than the matcha purple haze. Prices are reasonable for specialty drinks. There was only one worker there when we stopped by though, and it did take about 15 or so minutes to get our drinks so I wouldn't count on a quick stop by if you're in a rush. read more

The drinks were quite good! It's tough that many of them can't be completely dairy free by subbing alternative milk. The server was helpful and was able to answer all our questions. There really wasn't much of a place to sit and drink things, aside from a large bench. There's also no restroom. I absolutely LOVE this coffee shop! Coffee that has taro flavoring?! Sign me up! I went three times in a span of two weeks. Honestly I'm not sure why Olympia coffee decide to open up around the corner when we have this amazing coffee shop! I'm convinced they put crack in their drinks because I'm addicted to them lol. My girlfriend INSISTED we go to Coffeeholics and if your SO says GO. YOU GO! I'm now a fan of this place and wish we had more than the weekend to go. Or even wished they had one in California. First of all the location is in a cute neighborhood. (So i'm pretty jealous of everyone that gets to walk 5 minutes to get their Coffeeholic fix) But also know parking is extremely limited and most of the streets seem like a one car can only fit at a time. So be preapred and or just uber here lol. Once inside you'll be greeted by the barista or cashier and you'll be instantly distracted by all the merch, desserts and pastries they have to offer. Don't get side tracked because the main star of the show are the coffees. We got the Purple Haze which has an Ube Foam at the top that instantly makes the entire drink delicious upon first sip. This place is located in a residential area where parking can get very dicey depending on what time you go, but that alone should not stop you from going to this consistently awesome Vietnamese coffee joint! I went on a Sunday afternoon and was lucky enough to find parking almost right at the entrance. Inside was very clean and has one particular wall where you must take photos of your drinks in front of, though keep in mind there isn't any indoor seating besides the chair in front of said wall. Baristas are very attentive and prompt with your orders. It's not my first time here, and I love a ton of their drinks including their Coffeeholic Dream and their tiramisu egg coffee. I highly recommend their Coffeeholic Dream with an ube drizzle in it for the best results. This time I got their pandan cold foam ca phe sua da. I don't have very high expectations for coffee in general, but Coffeeholic does theirs right consistently. For my particular drink, the pandan taste is there but doesn't overpower the coffee, and it tasted even better when fully mixed. They have so many options here, and it's become a staple spot I go to a fair number of weekends for afternoon coffee. A must-go place for anyone visiting Seattle! read more

Disappointed, though, that with current understanding of global plastic pollution yet another primarily takeout spot hasn't opted for compostable containers and is funneling at least hundreds of plastic cups a day into the waste stream (your containers/lids have recycle symbols on them, but plastic recycling ain't all that, as is also commonly known). Compostable containers are out there (locally Mighty-O uses them for all hot and cold drinks), and Seattle has excellent commercial composting. Yep, it would add to the retail price, but your product is already a luxury item. read more
