That probably wasn't the right move because donuts are best eaten freshly baked, warm first thing in the morning. But, we did it anyway! We ordered a cinnamon bun sticky bun donut. It was cold and dense because it had been sitting in the pastry case all day. We should have asked for our donut to be warmed up because once we microwaved at home, it was finger licking good! Happy, positive, and honest review incoming. Robust Cafe has become part of our daily routine, so much so that my husband and I stop in every day (just not together, because we apparently like to keep things interesting). We even started a little "paying war," where whoever gets there first buys the other's coffee. This has now turned into the ladies getting the cost of our coffee as a tip for remembering us and just being awesome. They know us so well that on weekends they'll ask, "Just yours today, or his too?" That kind of familiarity doesn't happen at big chains. The staff is always friendly, always welcoming, and the food? Next level. The bagels are fresh with real ingredients (no questionable fast‑food eggs here), and the coffee is consistently great, exactly what you want when you're half-awake and counting on caffeine. Yes, sometimes the wait is a little longer, especially on weekends, but that's because everything is fresh and made right. This isn't a fast‑food drive‑thru, it's the home‑cooked breakfast of coffee shops. The ladies move fast (honestly, it's impressive), but good coffee and real food take a minute. Another awesome thing is that they do have seating in the main area. While it's not the most comfortable seats I honestly go there to work sometimes just to get out of my house. Working from home, its a great little place to work. It truly is a small-town business at its best. If I could give negative stars I absolutely would. This is the second time visiting this establishment, I would love to support any small business. Unfortunately this is the second time in a row (3 month timeframe) that my order has been incorrectly made - at least they are consistent, with inconsistency ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ First time with a girlfriend, she ordered the seasonal latte, hot and it was delivered iced. Went back up to the counter with drink and was told, "No you said iced!" The girl behind the counter presented with a level of unprofessionalism and combative attitude that my gf was unwilling to engage with, so she just kept it. Even though I offered to rectify it, as I was treating her to our coffee date that day. Today (3 months post the above ordeal) I ordered a different seasonal latte and customized it with almond milk and caramel drizzle. I took a look at the pastry case but was turned off by the multitude of house flies and fruit flys flying and landing on and around the donuts & pastries. I also ordered a PLAIN gluten free bagel w/turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato & cheese (2 types) The sandwich order was repeated back to me as: "a gluten free bagel" w/turkey, tomato, avocado, bacon, cheeses. I agreed because the repeated back order was not incorrectly stated. What in fact received, regrettably was. Photos on the picture ordering board show freshly cut avocado, ample amount of protien given in sandwiches, the photography is a lie to what you will receive...that and a massive side of argumentative, disrespectful, abhorrent customer service by the many women that work here. I work in the customer service industry and this was a disgusting display of beyond ignorant behavior....AGAIN. I was given the wrong bagel and no fresh avocado, but some sad form of mashed, transparent avocado-ish guacamole that had onions in it ...Oh and a single folded slice of deli turkey. Whomp, whomp. I did make mention of not requesting guacamole but actual avocado to whom I believe was the manager. The same girl/manager? that then in response yelled at me "You should've ordered what's on the board!" After I explained what numerous inaccuracies there were with my order, after being asked for the literal fifth time. Then I was hilariously told that I had an attitude, after I calmly mentioned there was honestly no need to yell (or be so combative) in my attempt to calm the managers emotions and disgusting attitude. I had ordered what I wanted and was more than willing to pay for the customizations. What I'm not willing do to is be berated for ANOTHER INCORRECT order by your employees at this Robust Cafe establishment. Maybe third time is a charm??? Probability low. Doubt high. I'd rather give my money and time to a small business that has employees that aren't eagerly looking to jump into verbal altercations with paying customers and are ready to actually behave and act professionally. The maybe manager returned some monies paid (Added the sandwich & two sides amount) but didn't include the money I paid towards the Ma sales tax on meals. Bad math, doesn't surprise me coming from this place. The actual surprise would be a courteous non confrontational, accurate order - Robust Rudeness Cafe best of luck with a business that treats customers consistently AWFUL and falsely advertises. Vegans be weary. I am not confident Robust Cafe understands what vegan is. 1) Honey is listed as an ingredient on a vegan item on the menu. 2) I asked what the vegan cheese was made of because some are made from cashew and I am allergic. The cashier just said they use regular cheese. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super alarmed by this we just ordered oat lattes. The lattes were watered down and over syruped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you trust the vegan donuts are actually vegan, they are only available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Basically a Dippin Donuts (literally, since same owner), dressed up with slightly fancier furniture--and a fancier font--to look more sophisticated. Donuts pretty much the same. I have never loved a coffee shop so much. From the different coffee varieties, the delicious specialty donuts, the café, and most of all the amazing ladies I love them all so much!! Me and my baby start every day off with a little car ride to Robust and their coffee and smiles start my day off just right every time. We bring our cat through the drive-through and he's like a regular now because he loves it so much too! Highly recommend 10/10 read more
