To highlight: Our therapy team is headed by Marisa, who is our supervisor. Marisa does an outstanding job at creating goals and making adjustments as needed. She has worked closely with my husband and I since the very beginning and has offered invaluable support for our daughter. From attending IEP meetings to ensuring that our daughter not only achieves her goals, but masters them, Marisa has been a Godsend. Our other BTs are Johannah, Tiffany, and Crystal. The field of behavioral therapy is particularly challenging, with a very high turnover rate, and we have been incredibly blessed with therapists who pour their heart and soul into their jobs despite how demanding--and challenging--the industry itself is. We have had other therapists in the past--also from Spectrum--and the level of education and care is consistent. From Jassiel and Hang at the front desk, to our main gal, Marisa, everyone at Spectrum is incredible.

I have been working with Jeanette and Lindsay closely and affectionately as they have been an integral part in the stability and overall quality of life that I am so, soooo grateful for. If not for them, I know my family would still be struggling to understand our autistic daughter and certainly she would not be the happy, giggly, funny, goofy kid that she is today. Praise to the amazing work that is done every day by caring, inspired and loving individuals who make this world such a beautiful place to enjoy. I have been so blessed and I hope for many more children and families to experience the elation I have.

My daughter has become more independent now, and I am so glad the therapy worked. I do think their scheduling could be more flexible, that would make the program work out a lot better for parents and for therapists. Supervisors' passions are definitely seen through what they do, I just feel at times they were not listening and pushing too hard for certain things to happen. That's why it's difficult to lead, I wonder what would be the solution for this? Thank you for working patiently with my child, your help made a pivotal difference in our lives. And for that I am so thankful.

And…read morethen follow-up appointments are $500 an hour or $250 every half hour, and they will not renew your prescriptions if you don't actively have regular appointments. The brain scan and the counsel and the supplement advice I received were helpful to know, but I think I could have gotten a lot more out of those $5,000. It really didn't tell me anything new and they didn't prescribe me anything revolutionary. Even though I can see what's going on with my brain, you still have to think your way through this. So I don't think if you're considering whether you should spend $6,660 at the Amen Clinic or invest it in cognitive behavioral therapy, I say you'd be better off using it on therapy. It was an interesting experience, albeit expensive and not so fruitful, but I think the worst part is the not getting prescriptions renewed because I don't want to pay 500 bucks an hour. I found it's not a true "care" or solution place- it's a profit center primarily, with short-term focus and poor priorities for human care.

The scans were interesting and affirming of what we knew of my husband's mental health. However,…read morethe treatment was terrible. Dr Seawell recommended removing a current medicine without appropriate titration. My husband went into terrible withdrawal & as we sought help none was to be found. Email responses were unhelpful and did not address the issues. We eventually had to seek alternate medical attention. Not only was the cost at Amen Clinics very high, the cost on my husband's mental health for the months following due to inept treatment was far too high. When you choose to pay for something like the brain scans in search of hope for a new way forward and instead you're set back for many, many months, it's pretty painful and disheartening. We wished we'd never gone. We would absolutely not recommend.

No zero star option available. Too bad…read more Funny to see Melissa Reiner advertising herself as a Newport Beach business. When my family had the misfortune of dealing with her she claimed to be in Irvine. Things change but that wouldn't be the only piece of outright false claim she made. (When we first spoke she commiserated over our situation and she claimed, as a "single parent" that she had a special understanding to offer my family. At our only appointment she wore a wedding ring and spoke often about struggles she and her husband had raising their family. Should have been more of a red flag.) We had a single session with my kids who have autism spectrum and emotional dis l-regulation diagnoses respectively. We met at their grandmother's home as a neutral ground as their mom and I are no longer together. An important detail is that their grandmother wrote Ms. Reiner a check and we set a follow up appointment at my home. In the weeks between the kids left town with their mom and I cancelled, by phone, the appointment. Ms. Reiner showed up anyway and then left without any appointment taking place. The short version is that a few weeks later Ms. Reiner sued my mom, not her client, for the cancelled appointment. She has refused all requests to provide any signed contract as a basis for her suit. She sent the sheriffs to mom's (79 and recovering from surgery) to serve her bogus suit. My opinion is that since she had mom's bank details she thought she'd be able to harass her through collections. She then sent a demand for over triple the cost of the cancelled appointment (claiming costs and "interest") and is now trying to get mom's bank to pay her. Dirty business in my opinion. She will never come near my children, or any of my family, ever again. As far as her actual service? If you need someone to come by and speak condescendingly to your kids, maybe Askmelissanow is for you. In my opinion, people who seek to take money, unearned, from families with special needs kids ought to be called out.
