A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were parked on a local street in my car getting ready to leave for home. We hadn't moved yet when suddenly a pick-up truck took a too tight left turn into a store parking lot and clipped my bumper while doing so. My front bumper was pulled half off which also created a small dent on the right side panel adjacent to the bumper. UGH! The best thing of course is that no one was injured but honestly what a pain! Two weeks prior to this accident I had noted a large and deep scratch on the passenger side rear door...it looked like someone had keyed my car door. Getting the car door repainted was on my to-do list, and now here I had this accident on my hands. Cohasset Collision has a great reputation and fortunately is but a couple of miles from my home. Their work is guaranteed. Although I had to wait a couple of days until they had time to work on my car, I was pleased that it was finished within 5 days which was less time than they had estimated. I brought it in on a Monday morning and got a call at 8:00am on Friday that it was ready for pickup. I was thrilled when I got my car back...it looked like new. They had offered to "touch up" the door scratch if I didn't want to pay the $1,200.00 to have the whole door painted but I opted to do it right; a touch up didn't seem like the right place to try to save a few bucks. The door looks great, and perfectly matches the tough to match pearl white paint color on my car. Not only does my car look like new and the work is guaranteed but when I walked over to my car to inspect the work I was not only happy with the job they did but very pleased to see that the card had been washed. When I got in the car to drive it away I was pleasantly surprised to note that they had also thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed the entire interior. It even smelled like new. They have a car rental service on the premises which I did not need...but of course that is a convenient service. In talking to the desk staff there, the owners are on premises (in fact we dealt with one of them) and we were told that most of the staff have worked there for years and years. That's a good sign in my opinion. They do have a car waxing service available which I am going to take advantage of this fall. Part of taking good care of your car is not just washing it but ensuring that it is properly hand-waxed and buffed. Cohasset Collision has my business...although other than getting it waxed I hope I don't need their services any time soon! read more

They did a good job. they did not get the car back to new, but all in all, after a little old lady hit me, I think I'm glad that i have my car back. it took repeated visits, and there was some agro from the world, and parts that were returned as we waited for insurance (or me?) etc., but Jim (who I mostly spoke with) was always plesant and the work was always about as good I could hope for. They seemed to work well with the insurance company, and they worked fairly well with the enterprise rent-a-car in the same building, heck, in the same office. I hope I never see them again, but lest some poor reader get me wrong, that is because I would have been in another accident. I would go back if I had to, that is, another accident. they seemed nice enough, I would even stop in for coffee. read more

This reflects my experience at Cohasset Collision. Very, very disappointing- i would never recommend them to anyone: - I brought my car there on Monday because my drivers mirror was knocked off while parking in the city - They said the part would not be in until Wednesday. They also said my door would require buffing or a paint job. If it needed painting, it would be evaluated after they buffed it. i immediately regretted leaving it there, as i'm sure the dealer would have had the part overnight, but I did not want to start the process over. The mirror was $1600.00 for my VW. - I also mentioned that an issue from their previous repair has not been sorted, although i had brought the car back FOUR times in the last six months to fix it. - On Wednesday they called and said that VW shipped the wrong part and were not sure when it would be in, hopefully Thursday. They said i could take the car and return it when the part came in. I have a day job like most people, having already sunk three days into it, my options were limited, and did not feel the car safe to drive. Sorting it on Thursday required me to take a day off from work, not easy. - More frustrating was the fact that mid way through the status call on Wednesday, I remembered and cited that when my car was there six months ago to have door fixed (which, again, is still not fixed), they called after three days and said VW shipped the wrong part, and it would take an additional three days. I am fairly understanding the first time, but if this happens twice I either think there is a severe lack of competence at best, or I am being given a dubious excuse at worst. - On Thursday they said the part came in at 4:30pm and the car would be ready that night. At this time, they also said the buffing was not 100% successful and I would need to return the car for painting. They also said the part for the door was not in, i'd have to return it for that too. So my car sat there from Monday through Thursday, could they not have buffed the door on Tuesday or Wednesday and have painted it while it was there? Did they also ship the wrong part for my door? Obviously, my car sat in their lot for almost four days with nothing happening to it. I dealt with Jim and he was extremely apologetic and very nice, as a matter of fact everyone I dealt with was also very nice last time i had the car repaired. Nice people, for sure, no complaint there. Unfortunately, nice does not trump competence. read more

I was recently in an accident. My Car was almost totaled. I had damage to the front end of the vehicle including the bumper, grill, both sides of the hood, tire brackets and so on. My insurance asked me to take the car to a repair shop associated with them. I researched and one of the places was Cohasset Collision Center. I checked their reviews and they were alright. They worked on the car for 10 days or so. When I went to get the car I noticed some issues with the molding on the bumper. Person in charge told me this is the best they could do with after-market parts (molding was coming out of the bumper on the right side). He also said there is no way they could put original parts. There were also some scratches on the bumper. My hunch is that they charge the insurance for the usual after market parts but actually buy cheap after market parts because as you know there are a lot of after-market companies with some selling junk. Anyway, this is not the issue and the story continues. I went and took the car. I did not want to deal with the headache of the bumper so I just left. I drove the car for a few days. Then a few days later as I was driving on the highway, I notice very strange sounds from the gear as it refuses to shift, Check Engine lights up, car can shift only to the third gear or may be second. I had school and other errands that I had to put on hold and I drove directly to the nearest dealer. Dealer immediately checked the car and told me that my transmission was gone. WHAT? HOW! How did this happen. After checking the car they notice that that the hoses for the transmission fluid were hooked in the wrong place which made the car leak transmission fluid. They determined that this was done by Cohasset Collision Center because in order to fix the bumper and the front end of the car they had to take out the transmission hoses. When this collision center went to hook the hoses back after they were done, they hooked them wrong. Which led to the car leaking transmission fluid for days until the transmission was gone. We are talking 4-5k cost of damage (new or refurbished transmission). Car was not drivable. I immediately contacted insurance and they went out and checked the car and determined it was Cohasset Collision Center's mistake. Imagine if you had no insurance or if your insurance did not cover this. This is a disaster. Besides, I was without car for over a month. I had to ask friends and family for rides. It was miserable. Dealing with Cohasset Collision Center people was like pulling teeth. Anyway, I will never take any car to them again and they will never work on any of my vehicles. This was by far the worst body shop I have dealt with for ages. read more

Cohasset prices with high school shop quality. I made the mistake of having my A4 repaired here. They were tasked with replacing the rear passenger door and repairing surrounding damage as a result of damage done by a truck. First of all, they used the cheapest replacement door panel possible. It sounds like it belongs on a Kia...very thin and very hollow. The paint job was awful. There are drips that look like it was done with a spray can. There is a clear spline...a raised line around the base of the door and rear window where their paint job overlaps the original. It looks like I could pull the paint off in a layer if I wanted to. There is also dirt under the paint. Someone damaged the chrome window moldings...it looks like someone removed them with a bottle opener then bent them back into place. I called my insurance co to complain and had the car taken back for correction. At drop off, I was mett with indifference and guys who act like the work was just fine. They said it didn't look as bad as the insurance guy led them to believe. They agreed to correct the paint and replace the window molding. A few days later I go to pick up the car. Same dirt, same drips and same window molding. They more or less washed and maybe buffed the edge of the still clearly visible paint lines. They said they'd have to order the window pieces that they'd me when the come in. What???? I dropped it off to be fixed and they didn't do a thing!!! I left disgusted. Unfortunately, my wife fell ill and I had to drop these clowns from my priority list. Typical of their serivce...I never got a call concerning the window molding. Stay away from Cohasset Collision Center. If anyone on the south shore wants to take a look at my car as a reference, I'll gladly show it. read more

After being backed into while parked, I took my BMW X 5 to a Norwell BMW. They confirmed damage to be more than obvious. They confirmed Cohasset Collision Center as a qualified place to work on the X5. A quote was issued. The driver and I both have Commerce Insurance. Cohasset Collison is a Commerce Care facility so the process was easy. The parts were ordered ahead of time. I left the car off on Monday. It was ready as expected on Thursday without ordering any parts for unforeseen hidden damage. No complaints here. read more

We have been satisfied customers of Cohasset Collision since it's inception. We would not think of taking our vehicles to another body shop. Most recently my son came home from work to find his car had been backed into (of course no note left). The kicker was that he had a trip to NY scheduled three days later.
