I ordered glasses about 3-4 weeks ago from here. Normally i just get my eye exam here and then go to BJs Optical because is cheaper and same quality. However, the optometrist was excellent, and so nice i decided to get my glasses there. Fast forward to 3 weeks later and a landslide of calls. When they do pick up is attitude to the max even in person. (When i went the girls were on their phones and more interested in a bachata concert than actually working.) every single day ive gotten an excuse from the lab no picking up to buffing the glasses, to a simple tomorrow they will get here. I paid over $600 for my frames and eye exam. I spoke to Sheril, or Shery i dont know her name and she was beyond rude, i just want my money back so i can get my lenses somewhere else and she plainly said i just had to wait because she wasnt going to give me a refund. I went to google to leave a review and the flood of comments with the same issue is surprising! I should have checked before going there, im just beyond upset at the moment. My mom went there last week because i told her about the Dr and she overheard one of the girls say that she didn't like dealing with "Bronx people" because they never understand anything. My mom walked out. I already file a complaint with the consumer department of NYC because i feel they are stealing my money. I just want a refund. But i highly recommend people to look somewhere else and to those that have gone through this to report them with the city government. read more

The customer service was absolutely horrible. I was scheduled for a 3:45 pm appointment and when I decided to say something at at 4:37pm about not being seen yet, I was met with "we're backed up". If people are going to make appointments for a specific time you should either a. Follow that schedule or b. Give courtesy calls letting patients know the doctor is backed up. When I asked if I would still be seen after the patients that were left before me I was met with, "we close at 5:30pm and I wouldn't want the doctor to rush we can reschedule". So after waiting an hour I should reschedule? Not to mention other mishaps with the carelessness of the people that work there. Just horrible service. If you can avoid this place, do so! read more

I've been to my fair share of optometrist offices. From Brooklyn to Manhattan to the BRONX. Theres not many places like this one. Most places are charging insane prices for glasses and contacts just because of their location, and let's not mention the exam fees if you don't have insurance. After being ripped off by another Optical in Manhattan for an outrageous exam fee with poor results and glasses that just didn't work for me I am so grateful to find a place that's local, affordable and the staff was extremely helpful. There was a change in management and it was much needed! I was able to get in last minute and received both my prescriptions. The examination was great and super thorough. Maria and Angie are so friendly and helped me pick out a few really cool designer frames and a second back up AFFORDABLE pair, because again, in Manhattan I've spent an easy 600 on just one pair of specs. Went here for an eye exam and to buy new glasses. The lady that worked there seemed nice but didn't really know what she was doing. Doctor was late. Finally I received the eye exam and was told my glasses will be ready in a week. the week had passed and they did not call. I called them and I was told they were not ready. When i finally received my glasses they gave me a headache, the doctor had given me the wrong prescription. NEVER AGAIN!! read more

Terrible Customer Service--AVOID THE HASSLE!!! Save yourself the hassle. Don't go here. There are lots of other places that can better meet your needs. I bought a pair of eyeglasses from this Cohen's in late January, 2008. By summer, the silver plate was quickly wearing off. By early November, the frames broke while I was cleaning the lens. They post their hours as being open until 7:00, and I was even told on the phone that they were open until 7:00, but when I arrived at 6:45 (after leaving my office in upper Manhattan to go to Queens to pick up my daughter and then get back to The Bronx), the door was locked. There were two employees still in there, and one came to the door. He opened it and said, "We're closed." I pointed out that it wasn't 7:00 and he said that the doctor had left. I told him that I had bought the glasses in January and that they had broken. All I wanted to do was leave them to have the frames repaired or replaced. He told me that I would have to come back the next day. When I told him the effort I had taken to get there that night, he said, "We're open 7 days a week." First, why are eyeglass frames falling apart in just over 9 months of routine wear? Second, why the HASSLE? If you say you're open until 7:00, wait on customers until 7:00. If you need to close earlier, change your posted hours. This place is a huge rip-off, and they have seen the last dime they'll get from me. Protect yourself from a bad product, bad attitude, and terrible customer service. Go somewhere else! read more

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! First off the location itself is worn and dated and it needs a makeover. The selection of frames is the same. They barely have anything to choose from and depending on your insurance it will dwindle down to almost nothing. I used HealthFirst Insurance, I won't even begin to talk about the selection, or lack thereof! Got an eye exam on the 10th, today is the 27th and still no glasses. Lady on the phone is very smart alecky and will argue you down and confirm what someone else said (not sure how but w.e.) Never in the history of wearing glasses have I ever waited this long. My mom used HealthFirst also but I took her to Vision Works, because her prescription is very strong they told her she would have to wait approx 2 weeks for the glasses and they were ready in 11 calendar days, not business days. Overall I'm giving this place one star because I can't give it 0 and the optometrist was actually very nice! But seriously, take your business elsewhere, you'll be much happier in the end! The doctor is an idiot!!!! I came in for a contact lens exam and though the people at the front desk was friendly the doctor( and I use the term loosely!) took a look at my glasses and said that my glasses are not accurate , I bought them from Macy's and I see perfectly with them. I really just needed the contacts.While doing the beginning of the test he was very condescending and rude so I walked out. The lost $100+ for having that idiot there. Don't waste your money!!!
