The doctor was amazing! Kind and thoroughly explained everything. Very pleasant and I would absolutely see him again for any eye needs I might have. The optician, however? She was a nightmare! She was very rude and condescending. She told me (a 38 y/o woman who is also a paying customer) that I "need to put my phone down and pay attention to HER." This was when I was trying on $300++ glasses and taking picture with my phone to see how I liked the glasses. I was not being rude or in any way ignoring her. I explained that, or tried to, but was rudely cut off by her because she couldn't be bothered to listen to me. Everything I asked was met with an eye roll and attitude and a sigh before she answered, if she even bothered to do so. She was mad that I needed her to go over pricing before deciding which options I wanted on my glasses. She was mad when I needed to try on more than two pairs to decide. She was mad when I wanted my husband's opinion on the glasses. She was mad when I didn't want to buy two pairs. She was just mad and mean and angry the entire time. I explained that I needed these glasses before next weekend (so a week from today) when I booked my appointment, and I was told that they could "probably be done in an hour," so not to worry. But after ordering and paying, I was told by this woman that they MIGHT be ready by next Friday, but I HAVE TO wait for them to call me. Then she looked me square in the face and told me I better not show up before she called! I am not even exaggerating. So, if there is an older woman working as the optician? RUN. read more

Walked in Cohen's again this time with a difference insurance that thru no fault of Matt, Cohen's doesn't use any longer. He had some great advice and was a great resource for me when I had to go elsewhere unfortunately due to insurance issues. I can honestly say because of him, the first place I went to after, I rejected what they had to offer. I found what I wanted and ended up in a Varilux X, two brand name frames and the best of lenses. I have always respected his expertise and pretty much followed his recommendations regarding lenses. He knows I am very fussy about the lenses, probably more so than the frames themselves. So once again he was as good as it gets! I do wish I was able to use my insurance there, but that is no fault of his obviously. I still consider him my "go to" when it comes to getting top notch glasses at a respectable price. Thanks again, your service is truly impeccable! read more

So here's an update. After 4 back and forth email conversations and 1 phone convo, the CS rep for Cohens as a whole gave the typical franchise answer; "all offices are independently owned and operated.....yadda yadda" She went on to claim that if I went to lens crafters in the same mall, their answer would be the same. Boy, did i surprise her when my answer was "WRONG". In fact, that last people (before cohens) to measure my wifes' PD was Lens Crafters in the Pheasant Lane Mall, and they were more than happy to oblige. And guess what, It was right, as her new glasses from www.zennioptical.com fit great. Imagine that. Again, I will never use this Cohens' again. I have purchased about 3 pairs of glasses from here. I have had wonderful experiences each time. This is a great high end designer glasses/optical shoppe. The management / owner is very knowledgeable and the staff has been trained by the highly credited New England College of Ophthalmology (424 Beacon St, Boston). I have found that they stock frames that are VERY difficult to find in other stores and have many italian designer One Off frames with uniqueness. If you're looking for frames that are high quality designer and also unique, this is your place! Costs are slightly above average, but, to be expected as it s in a mall. :-) I will continue to come here for my frames and eye glasses requirements. I have been using Cohen's in Nashua for a few years for glasses for my wife and myself. Customer service is level is very high. They know glasses, fitting and matching style with what you ask for. The quality is exceptional and you get Verilux lenses ( the best) . I trust Matt and Fran. I received two coupons in the mail for Cohen's Optical--one was for 30% off glasses, while the other was for $100 off and the second pair free. I was in desperate need for new glasses because the utilitarian wire frames I had for nearly 18 (!!) years had finally begun to break. So I made an appointment with Dr. O'Donnell for Friday morning. The eye exam cost $60 and was quick and easy, especially considering my severe myopia and astigmatism. Dr. O'Donnell was friendly and professional; we had a nice conversation about teaching and college. With my prescription in hand, I went to Fran, the eyeglass specialist, who took one look at my old glasses and said, "Honey, you DEFINITELY need new glasses!" We discussed the coupons and decided that the 30% off one pair would better suit my situation. I don't need an extra pair of glasses that I won't wear, and 30% off one pair would amount to more than 100%, so it was a better deal. Fran pulled out two frames for me to try, and I decided on the second pair, a rather sleek-looking pair of dark tortoiseshell frames by Nine West. I paid $360 for the glasses (both lenses and frames), and Fran told me that they would be in no later than Wednesday. Fran was super friendly--we chatted about the new carpeting and new dining options in the Pheasant Lane Mall as she wrote up my order. I received a phone call from Fran on Tuesday afternoon that my glasses had arrived. I picked them up that evening, and I couldn't be happier with my new specs. BF says they look like "grown-up glasses"; he wishes I got them earlier (though when I told him how much new glasses cost, he as a non-corrective lenses wearer was shocked-c'est la vie, I said). I will return to Dr. O'Donnell and Cohen's in a couple of months for my contact lenses exam and new order, and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

First stop on my shopping excursion to Pheasant Lane Mall yesterday was Cohen's Optical. All I needed to do was replace the pads on my glasses and I was met with attitude. To the lady who was working there yesterday, I'm sorry if you hate your job or if you're bitter because the huge LensCrafters down the hall looks to be doing much more business, but that's not really my fault so you could have been a little more cordial to your customer. And not that it's a big deal, but I wasn't even offered a receipt for my purchase, just handed my change and set on my way without even a "thank you". I was very disappointed with this store, especially since I remember having such a wonderful experience at the Boston location. read more

I feel terrible about leaving this 3 star review because the doctor is so kind and attentive. The gentleman that works the counter is equally as wonderful. The woman that has answered the phone, however, when I have called twice in the morning was shockingly rude and abrupt. So much so, that I'm reconsidering ever coming back. If you can get past that, I would recommend Cohen Optical without hesitation. If not, look elsewhere. There are plenty of other options out there. read more

It was my first time needing glasses and I went to a few places to get my first pair, but they didn't explain many things to me and I felt kinda uncomfortable and rushed. I gave up and decided I didn't need glasses. My eyes disagreed. While I was walking through the mall I found Cohens and decided to try again. So... my elderly mom was in a bind. Lost just one of her progressive lenses -somewhere. Can't drive without her glasses and my dad, who is not well, needs her help for transportation for appointments. Every optical place around was telling her more than a week to get this lens replaced. Some places even wanted her to replace both or they wouldn't do it. Not this place! They took such good care of my mom! Took the glasses in on a holiday (Veteran's Day) and had the new lens replaced by Thursday- two days! Such excellent and competent, knowledgeable service. you will definetely find a better place than this. I had bitter experience when I went to have my 5 year old son's eye examination. I was given 6:30PM appointment with doctor(Optometrist). I was on-time but the doctor was on real rush. Didn't even bother that he is handling a Kid. During the reading test never bothered for the kids response. But he declared his power level in 10 mins. I called up to Insurance explained the experience, i was told about the eye check up warrenty and I can do re-testing with same provider. I called up for re-test. i was told that the re-test will result the same. Just waste of time/Co-pay and ultimately you get what you definitley don't want. read more

I would highly recommend Cohen's Fashion Optical. First of all, the location and the hours are convenient. My husband works late and this situation worked out well for us. Also, the wait is almost nonexistent. Plus the customer service is wonderful. We liked our glasses and plan to return to this location. Matt gives personable and kind service. I love this store. Every time I go there they make everything so easy. They have great prices and they are usually done in less than an hour. I choose them over lens crafters any day. I've purchased my own frames wether on eBay or elsewhere and taken them in and it's always $80 for lens to be put in - in less than an hour no ?'s asked. Can't beat it in my opinion. read more

Terrible location. There has been a recent change in ownership/management and this new guy knows nothing about business. Rip off quality in both lens and frames, and we have had multiple incorrect prescriptions from the doctor. They have a no refund policy and are not at all willing to help correct problems. Go to Costco, or a place that actually stands by what they sell. read more
