Here is a business that is what a small local business should be! Why I hadn't gone here sooner is beyond me, because I should have shopped Bob's store year ago. Yes, it is expensive. But you are paying for the knowledge and skill of the owner. He makes the actual glass prescription in most cases, he knows his stuff when it comes to good, quality frames. I very much appreciate his honest feedback on frames as I tried them on (if you expect him to pacify you with a happy nod at each frame you try on, then move on. He won't do that). Bob even ordered a frame I thought I would like in a different color, and when it came in and I hated it- he was totally cool about it and agreed with me that the frames were not what we thought it was going to be. Talk about no pressure! Styles here are on the more funky and trendy side, but there are some basics here, too. But if you are going to go beyond the mega-chain brand Luxor, you need to go with funky and stylish! I also shopped here with my young daughter, and he was fine with her touching glasses and trying them on. He also has two dogs with him hanging in the store which helps set a friendly, laid back tone. read more

I cannot rate this store and the customer service I received here high enough! The brands were totally different than what you would ever find at a run-of-the-mill eye glasses store. Although the glasses were different, there was a huge range including frames that many people would be comfortable picking to some that were very unique! The quality of all of the products offered at this shop is astounding. Keep in mind that does mean you may spend more than you would at other shops. I was treated very personally without pressure. The men working were honest with me and pulled additional frames to see if I liked them. They picked better shapes and sizes for my face than I did! Myoptic isn't your typical eyeglasses store. Don't expect to be able to get your prescription here as a one-stop-shopping experience, nor will they churn out your glasses in an hour. What they do deliver is interesting and fabulous designer frames from all over the world. These are glasses that you won't see everyone else wearing. There's hardly-there frames from Denmark, boxy ones from Japan, trendy frames from France, and even sparkly Betsy Johnson cat's-eye frames with rhinestones. But admittedly, you've got to pay extra for style - many frames run from $200 to $400, and lenses are not included in that figure. The sales process was relaxed. I visited the shop four times before deciding on my glasses, and at no point was I pressured to buy. (One visit, I was encouraged to wait to pick out my glasses, since the owner thought I might like a certain pair of frames coming in next week!) Be sure to check out their clearance and discount case in the back where many frames are 50% off - a great value if you can find a pair you love. Once I made up my mind, my glasses were delivered to me faster than promised (3 days instead of a week) and were of excellent quality. My only quibble is this - I don't feel that the super-high-end lenses are necessarily any better than the mid-grade ones I'd purchased on previous pairs of glasses at reducing visual glare at night. Since I depend on my glasses every waking hour of the day, it's worth it to me to spend a little more to get a unique and fun pair. I'm looking forward to my next visit - I'm planning on my second pair soon! read more

If you must wear glasses, why look like everyone else? If you buy a pair of glasses at Myoptic, chances are that nobody else is going to have the exact same frames. Years later, when the "copy cat" version comes out, you will still be wearing your original frame, with a new lens! Perhaps you will change to sunglasses or get them tinted to your new prescription? I have had glasses from here that have been on the cutting edge of style for multiple years! Never discard your frames from Myoptic, because chances are, they will be back in style as readers, sunnies, &/or all purpose glasses before you know it. Many frames are as costly as those found in local chains! Don't be fooled by their once affordable, one hour everything done prices! Sure, I am guessing that you can still get those 1 hour frames, but have you looked at their prices lately? Have you noticed everyone else who has "your" designer glasses?! Buy your frames at Myoptic in Nashua and the chances of you running into your frames' twin is fairly small--it's sextuplet? I doubt it exists! read more

We have done business with Bob (Myoptic owner) for over 25 years since he was located in the old Nashua Mall. Every pair of glasses since then for my wife and I have come through Myoptic. Like someone else, I got titanium frames that will last a lifetime and just need new lenses when my prescription changes. The frames are not cheap but they are absolutely top notch. If anything doesn't work out, he'll make it right. If you can't find what you want and need at Myoptic, it doesn't exist. This isn't Lensecrafters, there are no $99 specials or "free" glasses. This may be a big yawn because it's another rave review for Myoptic. Last month when I stepped on my glasses and crumpled the arms beyond all recognition, I raced over to Myoptic to see about a quick repair for this pair of glasses that I would have sworn was beyond repair. But, I was wrong. Dan was able to massage those arms back into place and I was good to go. The difference between an inexpensive frame and a good frame--the good frame CAN be repaired. But, I needed an eye-check (so I wouldn't step on my glasses again, maybe) and even though my frames are still in style, I decided I'd keep the old glasses as a back and get a new pair. Again, fantastic service and super selections. I rated Myoptic's prices as moderate because there are always sales on really stylish, yet high quality, frames. And, there are some high-quality, high-priced frames, as well. I've always been able to find something that fits the budget, but looks great. And, as before, I know I won't see my frames on dozens of other people. Myoptic just can't be beat for great glasses! read more

The one and only optical store to purchase glasses from. Bob is extremely helpful, kind,and knowledgeable. If asked, he'll give you his honest opinion on how glasses look on you. If he doesn't like a pair on you, he'll immediate say no. It helps to have another opinion besides your husband. The brands and styles are amazing. They are funky but you'll also find classic styles that you will not find at chain stores. They aren't cheap, but you're getting high quality glasses that will make you feel great! The shop is very nice and clean and easy to get to on Main St, Nashua. I went in for sunglasses and the selection was poor. The prices were expensive but I was expecting them to be... Just a very small selection. The owner offered opinions of things other than glasses and came off very uninformed, judgmental, and nosy. The owner (Bob) is old school, in the best possible way, but his sense of style is very forward looking. He still gets uncut lenses and cuts them himself at the store. I have a pair of glasses that I bought 10 years ago. They don't look dated and are still in amazing shape. His stuff my seem expensive on the outset but most frames last a couple of years at best as they either wear out or go out of fashion. I finally broke down and bought a second pair this year but my old ones will still get plenty of use as they look new and Bob put new nose pads and covers for the "arms". He has done this in the past and never charged me a thing and both replacement parts must be special order from europe! I cannot recommend any other shop that does a job close to how Bob runs his shop. read more

Best eyeglass shop I've been to anywhere, which includes nearly a dozen from Virginia to Colorado. First of all, it's super nice finding a place divorced from the optometrist, since you can shop on your terms without the pressure all-too-common with most optometrists/optician shops. Unlike many comments here, I've only been going to Myoptic and Bob for just over two years. As someone with heavy astigmatism, frames and especially lenses are a major investment. As a result, I do a lot of research especially on lenses and the newest options, and Bob has the best of both worlds. He obviously loves carrying the newest and best quality frames--his enthusiasm is refreshing. He's straightforward about different lens options and manufacturers. He's also honest when he doesn't know an answer and has to check with a supplier. I recently decided to try an office lens that would also block blue/HEV light. After an exhaustive search I found two options I thought were the best--BluTech and TheraBlue. Both are relatively new and somewhat less-known options. Of course, Myoptic provided both, when only a handful of shops in the state even offer BluTech. Some have written that he's expensive and I have to say I've found him perfectly reasonable considering that he's selling high-quality options. If you want cheaper and essentially disposable options, go elsewhere. read more
