I went into cohens last week for my glasses and I was greeted by a very sweet high energy pretty young girl named Erika, she took so much time with me. Not once did she get overwhelmed or upset that I was taking so much time deciding what frames to purchase. Long story short I spent $1600 on glasses and absolutely love them. Erika took her time and also picked out the best looking frames that suit me. I get so many compliments on them. I will forever look for her when I need glasses. I live an hour away! I gave a 5 star review in 2020 and I still like Dr Caragian but I will never step foot in the contact lens office again but the dept for glasses is wonderful and their staff is very helpful. Now the contact lens office is under new management and the new "manager" Fatima is rude and doesn't try to keep her customers happy. my contacts went from 30 a box to $80 a box and when I asked if there was a cheaper version she said we had to get a new exam. i have been coming here for over 10 yrs and I can't believe how rude and unhelpful she was. read more

While my initial review about Evelyn, Karen & Christine were kind and positive, upon reflection I have to share that I felt they were aggressive for my taste. They tried to upsell me on features I did not want and I never got the invoice that itemized what I purchased onsite. I had to call to request this invoice and I had to call again to find out when my glasses were ready (they told me they would call me.) Overall, it was a slimy experience. read more

Walked into cohen's optical today for the first time. I have been getting my prescription glasses and sunglasses from lens crafters my whole life, so I didn't really know what to expect. I wear glasses everyday so it's important to me that I buy my eyewear products from a trusted source. I was blown away with the customer service and phenomenal selection this store has. WAY BETTER than lens crafters and I for sure will be getting my eyewear from here from now on. Erika Baez helped me out with finding the perfect pair for my face and style. DO NOT BUY GLASSES HERE- THEY ARE SCAMMERS! I went to this location about 2 weeks ago with an appointment for an eye exam and plan to purchase new glasses. My eye exam went very well, but as soon as I attempted to look at glasses the sales rep was so pushy and wouldn't even give me a chance to look without basically throwing glasses at me "what about this one, and then what about this one" it was so aggressive!! It was obvious the discomfort on my face and I thought she would notice and stop but she didn't! She kept going until I had to say- I need a chance to look by myself and if I want to try on a pair I will let you know. Once I saw a few pairs I liked, I asked her to try on. Every single pair of frames I liked she told me they were 700.00 and because I had an expensive purse- maybe she thought I was made of money? But also, I own many designer sunglasses ranging from Celine and YSL and their sunglasses are not even 700.00. I have bought many pairs of Celine eye glass frames and they always range in the 400.00 price range and that was what I was prepared to spend. But every frame I looked at Gucci, Tom Ford, YSL, Burberry, Celine they were all 700.00 without her even checking a price. I was vocal that I just started looking today and I'm not spending 700.00 on frames on a whim. I told her I would like to stay between 300-400 on frames and she basically said she doesn't have any in the style I would like. At this point, I was not letting her receive any commission off of a sale I was going to make- although I loved the Tom Ford frames priced at 700. The next day I went to the Cohens in the Newport Centre mall (since I live in Jersey City) and I found the same exact frames that were priced at 459!! All of their Gucci, Tom Ford...etc designer brands were listed 500 or below! STAY AWAY FROM THIS WAYNE LOCATION VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND COMPLETE SCAMMERS. I will be reporting them to the BBB and to Cohens Corporate. They should not be allowed to represent the Cohens name, they should be in a kiosk in the middle of the mall scouting customers- because that is the professionalism I received! read more

I was so disappointed today. Stopped in at my favorite location today to start my journey on finding my third pair of frames. I purchased my last two pairs of frames (Prada & Tom Ford) from there out of pocket and everyone has ALWAYS been a GEM. Today, all the associates were helping other customers so I waited patiently. A young lady comes in a while after me and she's looking around as well and taking pictures of frames. We're standing next to each when a gentleman comes from the back wearing a white jacket. He goes straight to the young lady and asks if she needs help. I say to her, I've been standing here long before you came in this store waiting for help. She said, I'm the customer. It's not up to me to say who he helps first. The man then says to me, it'll only be a few minutes. We go back and forth about his lack of concern about who was there first and tells me I had just gotten there. I reply, how would you know? You just came from in the back. The young lady says I'll come back. The gentleman then asks me what I looking for. I reply, I'm looking for a pair of frames. He asks if I have a prescription. I told him no. I would just like to find a pair frames. This man motions with his hand to one of the case and says okay, there's frames and motions to another case and says, there's frames. I couldn't believe it. So, since he wanted to be an %@$ I told him, never mind. I'll take my money somewhere else. That is just what I did. Walked into Lens Crafters, found a pair of Ralph Lauren frames. Purchased them and went home. By the way, THE SERVICE WAS TOP NOTCH!!!!! What he didn't know was I always purchase my frames out of pocket and take them to my eye doctor's offices to have the script put in. I had called to make an appointment on 05/15/10 and they said they had plenty of openings...until I mentioned the promotion they were offering online for $20 exams. All of a sudden they were filled up. I walked into the store the next day and again they had availability to see me until they saw the coupon. Walked in to by a new case. Older man that works there asks me if I got my glasses there. Told him no, got them at LensCrafters two years ago. Takes my glasses to "clean them". Destroyed my lenses. Permanent streaks on them that won't come off, incredibly hard to see out of. Don't know what cleaning solution he used on them. Man is a con artist. read more

Terrible place terrible business practices... Nasty loud screaming owner got in my face because she wouldn't put in the lenses to a pair of designer frames... They originally said they would... Then charged me 299 to put in the lenses and charged my card...they held the glasses for a week.. Then they said they sent them out. We came to pick them up they said that DB Labs couldn't do it... But then the owner said that it wasn't the lab... It was her.. She said they wouldn't look good.. That's what she canceled the order... She never called to ask what we wanted to do... She never apologized... They were very nasty about the whole thing... Plus 299 was very expensive in the first place for lenses only... I highly recommend NEVER going to that cohen's Willowbrook mall... For anything ... Unless you like getting put down, Yelled at, or having the owner get in your face to prove a point... The location of Cohen's is very easy to find in the mall. I recommend to go see Paola! She's been helping me for years and I bought many prescription glasses as well as sunglasses from her. She is great!!! They carry so many brands from Valentino, Tom Ford, to Gucci. Always in the latest fashion. When going for an exam it's quick and easy. She was very professional. I got my new prescription and Cohen's Fashion Optical helped me pick out new frames. The staff was friendly and professional. My appointment was for 3:30. I recently went back to Cohen's, and I normally do not do this, but wanted to reiterate my first review. I went in to get an updated lens for my prescription, and wound up getting another set of lenses (this time - some prescription Ray Ban sunglasses!). This was only because the staff at Cohen's researched my insurance plan to let me know that I had money remaining that I could use towards these new glasses (something I have been wanting for quite some time!). So I had an emergency where my only pair of contacts tore. I got an appointment same day and barely a wait. My 5 stars is to the staff and eye doctor. 6 months ago I got an eye exam they got the fax and saw right away how very off my prescription was. I can't rave enough the concern they had or how unbelievably nice and helpful everyone was to make sure everything was right. Alot of people don't realize how important vision is but they treated me like it was everything, they got me. This will be my eye dr permanently! Thank you everyone! Run Fast, Run Far Self-verified patient of Dr. Nalan R Oncul - Posted on June 19th, 2019 I saw Dr. Nalan Oncul on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at her Willowbrook Mall location. While she was reviewing my medical history, she coughed onto her hand and I asked her to wash her hands before examining me. She did not wash her hands, but instead slathered on some hand sanitizer. She again attempted to examine me and I stated that I had requested that she wash her hands, but that she had not washed them. She said that she had been planning to do that later on, but just wanted to "take a look" first. I told her that I am sure that she knows that putting on hand sanitizer is not a substitute for hand washing and that the appointment was over. I told her repeatedly that I do not trust her and she kept trying to rebook the appointment for another day. Something important is lacking with this person. Perhaps you need to bring in your own soap to your appointment. read more

Me and my husband both got exams here from their in house doctor as walk ins at about 7 on Wednesday evening. He was extremely nice! It was my first time wearing contacts and he showed me everything I needed to do and gave me two free pairs to last me a month or two. We also both got our new glasses prescription. Included was a glaucoma test and even though they were out of network with our insurance they were still going to submit it. For our two exams, two pairs of contacts (with holder and drops), and glaucoma tests it came to $190. Which we didn't mind. We will come back in the future if we can't find a good optometrist in network. Thanks! read more

Peter and the staff here are fantastic! I made the mistake of going to a different "chain" optical retailer for my last pair of glasses, which after multiple return visits to tighten hinges and request edge polishing (which they refused to do), I returned to Cohen's. Not only did Peter and the gang help me pick out a new pair of glasses, which I'm really happy with, he fixed (and polished) my old pair... now they look better than they ever did! I would give Cohen's 10 stars if I could. Dr. Nalan Oncul did more than she could to accommodate me. My eye exam was super thorough, she helped me with an eyelid issue I've been having & also helped me with contacts.
