Popped in to Pearle on 46 to get a repair on my driving glasses. Was immediately greeted while the optometrist was summoned. I explained my repair and he quickly attended to it. Within minutes my glasses were repaired. He got me a new case and cleaning cloth. When I asked what I owed him, he said, "Just a smile and enjoy the rest of your summer." Even though I purchased my glasses from Pearle, I was expecting a repair fee as the breakage was my fault. This level of customer service is what's missing from so many retail businesses. The doctor was very nice and efficient. They took me exactly at my appointment time and were quick. I was hoping to get new glasses while I was there, but nobody seemed interested In helping me. The three women there were all talking amongst themselves so I looked quickly and left. Their selection is also very small. Went down the street to LensCrafters and found a new pair of glasses that I LOVE literally within 5 minutes. Don't waste your time here - go to LensCrafters instead. read more

They won't give refunds when they do wrong that's their Corporate policy. I now have glasses that have an imperfection they caused when placing the lense with lenses that don't work for me. I went going back to Lensecrafters where they digitally measure your eye for the perfect optical center instead of these guys stuck in the Stone Age with mm rulers. LensCrafters lenses worked fine. Pearle Vision's did not. They still want their money even though they took my health benefit and my insurance paid them over 1k. Like another reviewer said - Dr. Nguyen is awesome. Just take your script elsewhere. read more

I bought a pair of sunglasses, and with my insurance, I still payed $350 out of pocket, which is ok, because they were a very nice pair. Immediately after putting them on, I knew something was wrong. It was too dark, and I became nauseous. I went back to the store 3 more times over the next few months, and each time a technician told me there was nothing wrong. Also, each time, the manager was never there. I finally broke down, and I went to another eye glass shop for a new pair of sunglasses. Within 2 minutes, the technician examined my $350 pair and said Pearle Vision reversed the polarization, which is not allowing enough light in. So I went back to Pearle Vision on Route 46, and explained the problem. They told me there is still nothing wrong, and there is nothing they can do for me. I called corporate, and found out they are a franchise, which means they could not help, but that they would reach out to the store owner. They said usually they will get back to you within a couple of days. It's been 2 weeks, and I have not heard from anyone else. Overall, this location lies to cover up mistakes, the management and owner do not care at all about the quality of the product or customer service, and you can not rely on the brand name, because corporate cannot help you, since they are a franchise. read more

Doctor was great and the male receptionist was awesome to deal with, but when it came to the female receptionist I quickly felt uncomfortable. Being in the medical profession you shouldn't be rushing people to make a decision and when someone requests for help you should come onto the sales floor and help them out. After interacting with her I left and went straight to lens crafters who helped me from choose the glasses I wanted to helping my wife with a future pair of glasses. Just had a great visit. Dr Nguyen is great! Very thorough and she makes sure you understand everything and she thoroughly answers all of your questions. The sales floor is great as well. I had two sales consultants, Craig and Josh. They worked together to help me pick out the right frames and get what I needed. I dropped in to have 2 pair of glasses fixed. I didn't purchase them from Pearl Vision. I was warmly greeted by Damien, an optician/lab tech. He didn't even question where I purchased the glasses And within 10 minutes he fixed both pair. I asked him if I owed anything. He just smiled and said "no". Why cant people in all stores be this friendly and accommodating? I would highly recommend this location and especially Damien for your next purchase. I know I'll be back when I need new glasses. I received the wrong prescription and whenever i return I am told "That Dr. opened his own practice and is no longer with us. " To compensate I was allowed to return the unopened contacts and given my old pre- exam script. Managers do not return calls . Go to an independent optometrist . Oh boy. If I could give -5 stars I would. I went in for a routine eye exam because a new prescription was in order. First time in the place, entered the door and went to the desk area. The receptionist who checked me in spent more time texting than acknowledging my existence. I'll give credit for her multi-tasking abilities. The technician who brought me in to do the eye puff, color blindness test, etc. was more than likely new. I get it, you're new, but laughing because she couldn't confidently use the machines was a tad unnerving. She had to do multiple tests, including the eye puff one (which was awesome) because she wasn't getting accurate readings. After 20 minutes of this, she called for help from another technician. Not sure why she hadn't done that at the first sign of trouble, or why I hadn't walked out yet. So I'm finally in the exam room, and the doctor might have said 4 words to me, even with me trying to initiate conversation about, you know, my eyes. I felt like I was on a TV show. My prescription changed, and there was no chance in hell I was buying glasses from that place, or even walking in again. The receptionist gave me my prescription and I was on my way. Fast forward two weeks as I'm picking up my new glasses elsewhere, and I can't see anything trying them on. The lenses were the prescription I was handed, so they recommended I call pearl vision to ensure it was correct. I went over instead, and sure enough, I was given a different client's prescription. Unreal. This visit was over a year ago, so hopefully they have gotten it together by now. read more

Not customer focused, unfamiliar with lens options and coatings, not a good listener...overall unprofessional. On a previous visit I was told she was on break and I couldn't have my glasses adjusted. I came to this location for assistance in getting my son's sport goggles fixed. I didn't purchase them from PearleVision but they were so helpful and able to get one in and almost the other one in. Honestly worst place to get contacts. There was no communication between workers and with me, they kept lying to me to cover their mistakes, and overall it was just an unpleasant experience. It's about to be 4 months and I still haven't received my contacts even though I already paid for them. Just one example of how badly this place is run. read more

I've made an appointment and asked if there is any paperwork to fill out. was told just few signatures. When arrived to the location was greeted with four pages I had to fill out. I have wrist problem and can't write a lot. They refused to provide electronics version of the forms, many doctors do nowadays. So then they refused to see me. Avoid this place. read more

I guess they mean well but function terribly. They didn't have my contacts in stock so I asked for my prescription to go elsewhere and get my supply faster. I get to the other eye doctor and find out Pearle Vision forgot to write the contact brand and diameter on the prescription. Now imagine ordering a strawberry cheesecake and it arrives without strawberries, no bueno right? Not to mention they are generally priced higher from the contacts and glasses to the eye exam. This was my first time being at this eye company and all i can say is that i am forever a customer here. Walking in i was greeted and directed to where i need to go to "sign in" and fill out paperwork at the reception desk. Once i got there, the ladies behind the desk helped me with filling out the necessary paperwork and even submitted the information off of my health card and license to get the paperwork process completed quicker. Once i was escorted to the room where the tests begin, the woman who did the first set of tests was super friendly and very informative on what these machines do and are testing for. I have never been to an eye doctor with all these tests and actually appreciate the information being given to me and the amount of tests to make sure i get the correct lenses. Once i was done with the doctor and tests, i was escorted back out to the main area where i was quickly helped by the lenses employees. These group of women know everything about the frames and glasses they were selling and were NOT the type to force a pair on me just because of the price of the frames or anything that would benefit them - it was all for me and about me. I have never heard the amount of options i can have for lenses and truly appreciate being informed about these types. The service was simply amazing and perfect, the store and atmosphere was so clean, organized and roomy, the doctor was super informative, knowledgeable, and friendly. Overall: this place is the place to go for lenses ... what more can i say other than they gained a customer? read more

I went here to have my glasses adjusted after my dog jumped up and hit them bending the side piece. When they tried to adjust them the metal lens ring broke. I went home to get my spare set but the lens was an old prescription. The frames were years old. The spare set was a little smaller so the lenses would not fit correctly. They had to grind them a little smaller. They were very professional and when I asked them how much they said no charge. I would have paid them for the time to grind them. I don't blame them for the break of the frames they were years old and I guess one too many times adjusted. I will defiantly use them for my next frames. read more

I've been here maybe 3-4 times and everytime I go, my experience Isn't the greatest. The last time I went, I was not greeted. When I tried to ask one out of the 5 employees or so, a question, she completely cut me off and gave me an attitude. If an employee is having a bad day they shouldn't feel the need to take it out on the customer. Brought in my prescription on 10/19/18. It is now 11/4/18 and I am still waiting for my glasses. Plus, they are not reachable by phone without first calling the chain's main number and be transferred to the branch. Everyone at Pearle Vision on Rt. 46 in Totowa is pleasant and attentive. I arrived early for my appointment (which I scheduled online that morning) to give myself some time to look at the glasses. I was met at the front desk promptly, and my paperwork was taken care of. I looked at glasses just for a short while, when I was asked to go back for a pre-exam (which included a glaucoma test, color blindness test, and 3D testing.) My old glasses were scanned to determine the prescription. Back to the showroom, looking for glasses, which was very pleasant. Cliff was extremely helpful, and a pleasure to talk with, and spent quality time with me. My exam with Dr. Nguyen was thorough, and she is very informative, pleasant, and patient. I opted just for a vision examination because I see an ophthalmologist often about the issues I have in my eyes and already monitor, even though Dr. Nguyen and I discussed those issues as well. She seemed genuinely concerned and attentive. She explained that my vision had actually improved, and my glasses were too strong - to which I replied "but I can see very well with them" to which she replied "your eyes are straining to see with this prescription." Makes sense, right? I didn't realize there would be a wait for the glasses - 20 years ago at Eyelab or Hillman Cohen, glasses were made on premises and you'd leave with them, and adjustments can be made before you walk out a satisfied customer. I thought it was the same way here, so other than waiting a few days for my eyeglasses to come in, it was a very smooth sail. When I picked up my glasses - I wish I could remember her name - adjusted the frames a bit and it was perfect. My concern going down a prescription to lesser strength glasses was, indeed, the right call by Dr. Nguyen. All around, this location is staffed by lovely and attentive personnel, all working together to give the customer the best experience. read more

Worst customer service ever. Waited 3 weeks to have my defective glasses replaced. When I went to pick them up, there was no one there to adjust them. The only qualified person was out at lunch, and it was 3pm. Was told to wait a half hour or so for them to return. I will never get glasses from them again. read more

If they break you glasses while adjusting them, you are out of luck. Even though it is their fault they would do nothing for you not even a credit towards the new ones. I believe this is a really bad policy so never again. read more

From start to finish, my total time dealing with this particular Pearle Vision was only 8 days! I had a good experience from the minute I walked in. I did not need an eye exam, so I went straight to the dozens of glasses that adorn the walls. A sales rep was able to help me pick out a great pair of very professional and looking glasses. They took my vision insurance, so I only paid for a few upgrades that were not covered, as well as a little bit for the frames. My prescription is super high, so for me to get designer frames with thin high index, uv protected lenses for under $150.00 (after insurance!) is amazing! read more
