We stayed here one night in July on our way to a backpacking trip in the Marble Mountains. Last year we stayed at a cabin at China Creek (same ownership?) but Coho is a better location for wakability to downtown Willow Creek. The room was clean, everything worked. If you continuing walking down Willow Road past the Coho driveway there is a nice city park next to the creek with a play area for kids and a frisbee golf course. read more

Comfortable accommodations including a small kitchenette, comfortable bed, satellite television and patio with bbq to enjoy the outdoors. Approximate 500 foot walk to nearby grocery store and within half a mile to most restaurants. My unit was the Tau which is the only one attached to the office and manager's apartment. The others appear to be individual. Reservations were easy to make over the phone. The manager was great at communicating via email and telephone instructions for accessing the cottages. read more

Beware of making a reservation with Coho Cottages. They may take your reservation and then cancel it. In early June '26 I booked a Mid July date. Early July I receive a notice that my booking was cancelled. No explanation. I assume they had a different party book for a longer time period or higher cost. They do not answer the phone when trying to call them. read more

I use Yelp a lot and read the reviews but have never left one. I feel it is good to let others know if there are issues. We stayed in the Promontory Cabin which was beautiful inside and very clean. It advertised a Jacuzzi tub but there was a sign above the tub saying the jets didn't work. We were going to use the barbecue on the porch but it was out of propane. The website shows green grass around our cabin but it was dry and dead, a fire hazard. The website also shows a lush garden with vegetables, fruit and flowers which are for the guests to enjoy. The existing garden is unkept, filled with weeds and no produce seen. The website also indicates the office is open daily including a concierge desk for booking excursions and tourist information. The office was never open while we were there, although it has an open sign, locked door and phone number to call. Whenever we called, the owner answered promptly and helped with our requests over the phone. It is my understanding they live out of town and come by the property occasionally. I believe the website and pictures should be updated to properly show the current conditions and only amenities actually available. This way guests will know what to expect and plan for. read more

We stayed a few days a few weeks ago in the "Summer" cottage. We had a lovely stay. Relaxing, quiet and all needed amenities including a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave and a barbecue. The beds were comfortable, the place really clean and updated and it was close to things we wanted to see. The updated decor and skylights were a welcome touch. Even though it was August and warm, the covered and screened deck was wonderfully relaxing. A book left in the cottage was devoured with gusto. I'd suggest bringing groceries in as the few restaurants in town are lackluster and the food wasn't great. read more

We stayed at Tao Cottage. It was very quiet at night. The bed was comfortable, the shower was big, and the little kitchen was neat. This particular cottage is attached to the office building, but check-in was without interaction with people, which I loved. They provided a code to the cottage over the phone. Staying in Coho Cottages was the highlight of our trip to willow creek. We were touring the redwoods and decided to visit the heart of Bigfoot country. We were surprised by all of the little touches like the heated floors, jacuzzi, fireplace, and the cozy porch. Not to mention, the bed is incredibly comfortable. Just got the "did you enjoy your stay" email. We in fact did NOT enjoy our stay. The hot water valve on the the jacuzzi tub leaked profusely. Which happens, not a big deal. Called maintenance, used towels to soak up the water. However, the jets did not work, and worst of all when we drained the tub, sewer water backed up into the shower and sewer gases bubbled out of the toilet causes the whole cottage to smell like $+*%#. I brought all this up to the person that came to inspect the hot water valve issue. I booked this room specifically for the jacuzzi tub, so you can imagine my disappointment. I was told I would get a call. I emailed asking for partial reimbursement and no response. I finally received a call 4 days later. They offered me 10%. What a joke!!! read more

I could've sworn that I posted a review for this place when we visited it for the first time (maybe it was that OTHER travel site -- you know... T.A) Anyway, this was our second stay at CC. We were so impressed with the place the first time that we convinced some friends to join us there for a min- vacation. The first time here we stayed in Tao House, which adjoined the office (don't worry -- it's quiet). It's kind of a studio setting, with an Asian theme (duh). Our friends stayed in it this time, and loved it. This time we stayed in the Village Cabin, which is a little larger than Tao House (as is the grill on the deck -- which all accomodations have) When you arrive, you can enter your room directly -- all room have a code for access. Upon entering, you're greeted with some pleasant music emanating from the TV (which also provides the usual cable fare, courtesy of DirectTV). Everything feels fresh, clean, and inviting. It's a great place to decompress (the town of Willow Creek is pretty quiet, so decompression is the order of the day). To paraphrase Arnold, "We'll be back". read more

Oh my what a gem of a place! If you are looking for privacy and solitude then the Promontory cottage is for you. I was so impressed with the layout of this cottage and the cleanliness. You walk in to relaxing music playing and feel right at home. I was impressed with the follow up and confirmation voicemail I received the day prior. I had my sons wedding this weekend unbeknownst to me my new daughter-in-law rented me a cabin at the Coho cabins. So very thankful to my daughter in law was very comfortable. because I didn't know I was going to stay an extra day they had already rented the room I was in so they moved me to the spa, there is no Spa but it's a beautiful room, you even have two outside beds so in the summer time if you have pop-up guest they have somewhere to sleep. both of the cabins were very nice. We stayed in the Fish Camp cottage for two nights. For a small cottage/cabin like this it was very nicely decorated. The bathrooms were almost brand new, and I really appreciated that--it was way nicer than most other hotels we stayed in on our trip. We loved the screened porch--the days were quite hot there, especially coming from Eureka area, but the evenings on the porch were very nice. We brought our own food (which we purchased in Eureka as previous reviews I had read did not speak very highly of the local grocery store). We used the kitchen and the grill. My main suggestion would be that they invest in more comfortable beds in this cabin--these were just eh-okay. Also, we ran out of trash bags so bring your own or maybe they could leave a couple extras in the kitchen drawer or something. The refrigerator and freezer were great---we were able to keep our ice packs frozen. A Keurig and a few coffee pods would be a nice touch--just a suggestion, as I know they are not cheap. I had brought pods with me and cut them open to use in the Mr. Coffee, so we still had coffee. The garden was pretty much done for the year--overgrown and weeds, but I am sure that it was nice earlier in the season, a nice touch for the cabins. The owners have added lots of little extras that make this place special. For some reason, I thought the cabins were closer to the river, but if you don't know the area be advised, they are not. We gave up trying to find river access where we could go and spend some time--there were a few boat ramps here and there, but the river itself seems hard to get to if you don't know the area well. We would love to come back next year and do some rafting. read more

We were visiting family in Willow Creek and our cabin was a wonderful surprise. Spacious, clean, screened in porch, beautiful surroundings, quiet, air conditioned. It far surpassed our expectations. There was a bbq and we were able to make dinner there. Air conditioning was key. Such a cute place to stay for a night or two while exploring all the beauty Northern California has to offer. We stayed in the cabin connected to the main office which had a nice porch for some after hours lounging and chatting when the weather cooled down. In late summer their garden has tomatoes, strawberries, chard and other fruits/veggies in which guests are welcome to harvest. We had the pleasure of staying at the Coho Cottages (Summer House) for a friend's wedding. So glad we found this place. It was beautiful, peaceful and very comfortable. All the comforts you would expect in any top notch hotel but in the comforts of your own private cottage. Our cottage had an enclosed patio area with a bbq grill, a flat screen TV, mini kitchen area and a spacious bathroom. Tao house was a long ways from any where, especially at night. The bed was comfy but the room was dusty. Also there was minimal toilet paper with no extra to be found. The bathroom walls were dirty as well as the white moulding. The tiny window in the shower had plenty of black mold on it. The owners have some sort of weird rule about having to wash your own dishes. If they want us to do that at least they could clean the place a bit better. read more

What a wonderful little spot! We stayed in #3 (I think? The one attached to the office?) And it was a cozy little room with a full kitchen and an amazing bathroom. We really didn't get to stay in the room long at all as it was a last minute trip. I would love to go back and stay a couple days. Things you might want to know- late check-in wasn't a problem. We also were able to get a late check out which was amazing as we wanted to meet friends for lunch on the way out of town, but it was pouring rain so we didn't want to leave before that! The bed was extremely comfortable. I didn't want to get out of bed! Everything was very clean. It looked like everything was brand new (whether or not it was). Full refrigerator, sink, oven/stove and they provided dishes. Coffee and microwave were also provided. It would be great for an extended stay if you have business in the area. Free wifi was an amazing addition and we had plenty of television choices with premium channels. I would definately stay again and highly recommend. read more

Just returned from 2 nights at Coho Cottages and it was simply lovely. We arrived on Wednesday, right before the sun began setting. We brought the stuff in to this comfy cabin, met the owner and then made ourselves drinks and snacks, that we enjoyed on the deck. Ahhhhhh, the extremely long drive was worth it. It was quiet, with a view in to the woods. The room had a/c and it was cool inside. The deck had a BBQ that we used later to grill up a steak and some roma tomatoes we got at the market at the end of the block. While my husband was prepping the steak for the grill, I went to the fabulous herb garden for some fresh thyme and parsley. What a hidden treasure. Even though the other cabins were occupied, the privacy afforded meant we didn't see them. That was a great feature. The views are of nature, not other cottages. The cottages are equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee and a maker. Since this is a one horse town plan accordingly. The market is at the end of the block, but it closes at 9pm, so make sure you have all you need. It is a long hall from San Fran, but if you are up there, are in to nature in a quiet, private location this spot is for you. There is a hiking trail on the property too. Also, while you're there, Bigfoot Rafting Company does a great rafting trip down the Trinity River. They are owned by the same people who own the cottages so I knew we would enjoy ourselves, and we did. Great trip! read more

It's not often that I encounter people who are just mean to the core. But that's what I experienced with coho cottages. My room was cancelled without my permission on the day I needed it. I asked for an Early check In and she freaked out because we have a medical dog. Which she also illegally tried to charge us for. I have never encountered a "small business" owner with such poor customer service. We were discriminated against because our dog. As soon as she learned we planned to leave our dog in a crate in the room she told me I could cancel for 40$ I said no I don't want to cancel have a nice day. And she canceled it anyways. Leaving us with no where to stay. And she did it with malicious intent. Because she didn't want a disabled person with a dog staying in her cabin. read more

Awe stayed in the promontory cottage for one night and wished we had longer at this beautiful property. The cottage was so spacious, clean, and beautifully The bed was SO comfy. Wish we had longer to enjoy the bbq and patio with the day bed. There are tons of river spots nearby and the river is beautiful and crystal clear. This is our 3rd stay at this lovely Cottage Camp (same cottage lol). We come from the east coast to fish the Trinity River and can't imagine staying anywhere else. The entire stay makes you feel like you're home. Clean, cozy, quiet, friendly customer service, well maintained grounds, beautiful view are just a few things to say. The small town charm exists but the market, bank, etc are a few steps away. Please check the garden before buying produce. There is just about everything to tickle your fancy. The tomatoes are as sweet as strawberries. There is nothing overwhelming or busy here. Come here to unwind, reconnect. We look forward to our next visit. read more

So thankful they took me in during this Virus Pandemic Covid-19. As an essential worker i needed a place to stay for a full week. The gracious host's went above and beyond to insure my safety by disinfecting and social distancing. I found the Tao room so be so Comfortable and nice for my stay. Coho was great! I booked everything over the phone and received all the information I could ask for. My partner and I arrived later than anticipated but were able to use a code to enter our cottage with the convenient keyless entry. The room was beautiful and we both loved the stone-floored shower. It was a bit too late and chilly to use the barbecue but would be most excellent on another night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already recommending Coho Cottages. :) read more

The term highway robbery comes to mind. Willow creek sits right along the highway. There are only two hotels; one looks flea ridden, the other is Coho Cottages. Don't get me wrong, it's OK; cute little cabins just off the road and walking distance from the town's only grocery. Three of us were on a fishing trip. We rented the "fish camp" cabin, supposedly designed for fisherman. There were 2 king beds and 1 fold out couch. The WHOLE room was occupied by all this bed space. Off the side is a giant toilet area with dual sinks and another giant area with a claw foot tub and a walk in shower. I feel like I could have used a little more moving around space and a little less bathroom. The fold out couch didn't have any linens, nor were there any hidden somewhere. I had to steal the comforters from the beds to fashion a bed roll. The wifi is a joke, never worked once and we walked all over the camp trying. I complained about the bedding and the wifi, they did give me sheets for the second and third nights. The place looked nice and the covered porch and BBQ were handy. No food included. All this for the low-low price of $220 a night. $220. No food. No bedding. No wifi. $220. I guess having a monopoly comes in handy. I don't think I'll be passing through that way again. read more

What a great find! The sun had set and I was starting to feel a bit woozy after a whole day of driving on some of Northern California's most beautiful, winding roads. I was ready to settle in for the night, but was unsure what accommodations I would come across given our remote location in Six Rivers National Forest. I was hoping to stay close to the wilderness, and not to have to head towards Eureka, CA Thats when I came across the Coho Cottages. It was almost 9:00 PM, and I called inquiring if they had any vacancy. The friendly woman on the line explained our options, and also said we would get a GOOD discount, since it was getting to be late in the evening, and most of the day had already past. Wow! I couldn't believe how charming and well appointed the cottage was! We had the Fish Camp cottage. The sound of the Trinity River from the porch was awesome. There was even a gas grill on the porch. The beds were comfy and the bathroom had a nice clawfoot tub and roomy shower. I just wished I would have had more time to spend at this great spot. The surrounding area is majestically beautiful, and I look forward to returning back to these cottages now that I know how special they are and the great amenities they provide. read more

I spent Memorial Day weekend in the beautiful Village Cabin. I loved all the little details from the well stocked kitchen to the bbq with side burner on our private porch. The bathroom had an amazing rain shower but the patina clawfoot tub was my favorite. Nothing beats sitting in a clawfoot tub looking out at the mountains. It was nice and quiet and there were dividers between the cabins so you felt like you were really secluded. Londa was a gracious host and greeted us upon arrival. She told us to pick any herbs we needed out of the garden. I would love to stay here again and try one of the other cabins. The town of Willow Creek is really small but Jack at the information desk was extremely helpful and entertaining. Cinnabar Sam's was great for breakfast and almost like a mini museum. River Song natural foods was my favorite little store in town. They have everything you could need including local beer and a juice bar. read more

This was a true get away! We had such a great time in Willow Creek. CoHo Cottages was an amazing surprise. We were welcomed to a beautiful cottage that was so charming we wanted to move in! Soft music playing in the room and the sound of the wind in the trees and the river below romancing us. The cottage was very clean and stocked with everything we would need. We walked to the nearby store and bought our dinner to grill on the bbq on the screened deck. We played music, drank wine and grilled steaks and veg. It was perfect!!! My boyfriend and I were so pleasantly surprised with our stay at Coho Cottages! It's a quiet, peaceful set up about an hour away from Redwood National Park. We stayed in the Tao House (small, quaint, charming) and the Summer House (warm, inviting, has a nice covered deck). We loved both cottages equally! We had great communication with the owner, who helped us store some food & belongings when we moved to the other cottage & gave us good recommendations for traveling there. The property was also actively practicing social distancing (no contact check in) and went above and beyond with cleaning the facilities between stays. All in all, HIGHLY recommend for a nice getaway, reasonably priced, clean and beautiful. Looking forward to coming back soon! read more
