The atmosphere is fantastic! I was expecting something not so nice. The cabin I was in was nice, clean and comfortable. It's kinda like a master bedroom with a bathroom attached. No problem with noise or other guests. The parking was right next to the cabin. Plenty of enmities. The room has a small refrigerator, microwave and sink if you want to get stuff from a grocery store. I was called to confirm reservation. The door lock was simple and easy to use. If im ever back here I would not hesitate to reserve a cabin. Highly recommend this place. read more

Outdoor property very, very unloved. Driving by we would have thought it abandoned. No plants / grass. Lots of small bits of trash. Porch treads / carpet, furniture falling apart. On our way to 101 found these cute cabins online. We were contacted by owner with the code to get into our cabin since we were arriving late. It worked great. Cabin was clean and inviting. Kitchen area was very well equipped. Little porch area had a gas grill and chairs and a table. Bed was comfortable but did feel like I might roll off the edge if I wasn't careful durring the night. The bathroom was lit well but the main room could have used a ceiling light and maybe a ceiling fan. It was quiet and sitting outside on the patio after dark was nice especually loved seeing all the tall trees around us. If we're in the area again will definately stop here. Be sure you bring all the food/drinks you'll need for your stay from what I saw there aren't any stores very close to to the cottages. read more

I've stayed here multiple times for work, and the experience is consistently excellent. The owners are courteous and extremely easy to communicate with. The cabins are spotless, quiet, and stocked with the little things that matter--good coffee, creamer, and everything you need for an extended stay. The location is peaceful and perfect for getting real rest after long workdays. It's also a great spot to bring company personnel when we're doing jobs in the area. This place is a joke. It's over priced and the quality of the cabin is very low. The customer service is the worst that I've ever dealt with. There was a power outage during my stay that lasted for 8 hours. And the management wouldn't provide a refund for the night or any other offer to make up for the inconvenience. Could you imagine paying $259 for a nights stay and you didn't have power? I wouldn't recommend this property or any other property associated with this company. Save your money and stay somewhere better. read more

We had a really great time here. We stayed in Cabin 7, and found it to be exactly what we needed: a small comfy cabin for a few days exploring nature. We booked through their website, and got a call + email with instructions a day before we arrived. Parking was right in front of the cabin, and we arrived to some music on the TV and a nicely cooled cabin. Great shower and a comfy bed too, after a day of driving and exploring. The drive up from Eureka was beautiful too! read more

Calm. Shade. Starry nights. Close to Willow Creek and its access to restaurants and grocery store. Great place if you're doing day trips and white water rafting. The owner is responsive. Our kitchen was missing a key utensil, the friendly owner drove there within minutes and produced a replacement. The property is well maintained. The cottage (#11) was spacious, updated and a great place to hide from the world. We stayed for three nights during likely the hottest days of their summer. And the fires 20 miles away was a little concerning, creating a smoky sky for most of the time. But in spite of it the shaded property kept the cabin cool. It's about a 50 minute drive from Arcata and the coast. read more

We stopped at China creek and paid for a night in the RV park. The fee is exorbitant $60 per night and you don't even get a table. The place is run down and almost to capacity with RV's that belong to men working and they were all hanging around outside. We forfeited our $60 and chose not to stay. They have a no refund policy unfortunately. We have stayed here before and they may have 2 or 3 trailers and it was fine but with the new owners and the policy we won't be going back. read more

We have always enjoyed hitting up gold beach area...china creek is hands down, and above, anyplace we have stayed in California or Oregon. Y'all have got to try this place!, I'm telling you, Londa and staff are super. Cabin (not gonna disclose the number ). Was super clean, didn't feel like I had to wash silverware and utensils and I am super weird about that. Anyone reading this, you NEED to stop and stay here, DONT take our cabin lol. Checkout waterfall...we were lost about finding it. So easy to find. Do not follow the signs, go right and it's just a 100 to 200 yards away. You will be so happy you stayed here :) :) read more

What a great find! Checking in and out are as simple as imaginable... there is no process after making the reservation. Just enter the provided code in the cottage door's lock and that's it.... leave when your reservation is over. I don't know why other places haven't figured this out. What you'll find is an immaculately clean wooden floored room, fully supplied kitchenette, ample bath towels and very comfortable beds. Each cottage has a deck with propane barbecue and chairs to relax and enjoy the clean mountain air. The cottages are nicely appointed and modern - not your typical fishing cabin. Peaceful quaint cottages among the trees. Entering the well stocked cottage , using the last 4 digits of your phone number, you are greeted by soft mood music playing on the tv. Each cottage has its own deck with BBQ and wicker chairs. Sitting on the deck in the early morning hour, listening to the birds and smelling the pines while having my morning coffee is a great way to start your day. I would definitely return here and have already told friends about it. read more

We stayed in Cabin 6. This is our second time staying at China Creek Cottages. The rooms are clean, nicely appointed, with updated finishes. The problem is, the bed was not comfortable. It sagged in the middle which caused us to roll into each other. It was also extremely bouncy so, when an individual turns over, the bed moves up and down waking the other person. Finally, the bedding was substandard with thin blankets - not cozy at all requiring the heat to be on all night. When we travel, the bed is the most important and essential element of a night's stay. read more

My husband and I wanted to get away for a couple days to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but we wanted to stay relatively close to home and bring the dog with us. I was thrilled to learn that China Creek Cottages allowed dogs. We booked two nights and brought groceries with us so that we could utilize the kitchenette. The particular cottage we stayed in had a tiny front porch, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. There was no back patio or porch, but I am told that every single cottage is different. Although there was free WiFi, it was incredibly spotty. This is likely due to the rural area. There was a large and beautifully kept lawn area that we walked our dog to for bathroom breaks. The owners communicated with me via email, letting me know what our door code would be set to. Upon arrival, nobody was in the office, but I was quickly able to reach them by phone. The kitchen had an oven, stove, microwave and refrigerator. It was very easy to cook breakfast in the mornings, and we also picked up a meal from a Mexican restaurant in town one of the nights. We didn't spend much time on the front porch due to mosquitoes, but we did go to the river at the Kimtu Recreation Center close by. The cottage had many modern updates, and the bed was very comfortable. The cottage was clean and neat, and offered one of my favorite amenities: make-up removing wipes in the bathroom. These cottages are adorable, and the owners also run the Coho Cottages about a mile away from these ones. It was a sweet little getaway, and I would happily stay there again. We gladly paid a $25 pet fee, and they give you a small discount if you take your garbage with you upon departure. read more

When we walked in soothing music was playing, air conditioning was on which made a great 1st impression and the cottage was tastefully decorated which invited you to come in a relax - feel at home. It was quiet. A Rays Grocery store is nearby. There is a gas grill to cook on so we grilled steak and garlic bread! There is a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. The only thing - we did not see China Creek. read more

This place is amazing! My son and I stayed here for one night while on a road trip. Friendly staff, quiet and serene, and the parking is great. This place has embarrassingly poor customer service. No one was at the office when I arrived and I had been given no instructions on how to enter our "cottage"(which was actually less than half the size of a full cottage), yet when I repeatedly called the afterhours number posted on the office door, no one answered. Finally, over TWELVE hours later, someone called me from the company and said they had sent the confirmation email and checkin info to the wrong email address. After all that, they overcharged us. It may have been a decent place before, but I would never stay here or recommend to anyone. read more

My husband booked this place thru booking.com and we were both surprised by how lovely this place is. Each guest has their own cabin separate from all the other guests so no noisy turds above or below for you to deal with! It's awesome! Very clean and tidy, only complaint was the shower head (did not have good pressure) and lack of soaking tubs. Other than that this was a wonderful weekend get away. My husband and I arrived at 4am and getting into our cabin was so easy I was immediately comfortable and fell asleep quickly. I will definitely return here in the future. I stayed up in Willow Creek for more than a week for work and stayed at the China Creek Cottages. Really enjoyed this very quiet spot. 'Course I may have been the only person there for some of the nights. IT was VERY quiet and tranquil nestled right in the woods. Stayed in unit 7 for a few days which was a queen size bed with a partial kitchenette and a gas grill on the porch with a side burner for cooking. Inside the cottage the walls are all finished and brand new looking and the bathroom is equally brand new looking with modern vanity etc. Spent a couple nights in Unit 9 which is much more spacious, has a king size bed and is more victorian styled. Very clean and with a full kitchen with stove and oven plus the grill on the porch. Nice sitting area in this unit. All the units have a nice porch with comfy chairs for sitting out and enjoying the quietude of the natural, woodsy setting. Definitely recommend for any travelers both business and pleasure. I'll bring my wife up sometime as it is very romantic as well. Great fishing, rafting and outdoor activities of all sorts in the Klamath-Trinity national forest which is spectacular! read more
