Came here on the recommendation of someone else, and I can say that I was completely blown away. The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is a "casual/upscale" type feel if that makes sense...white table cloth but not overly sophisticated feeling (at least for lunch time). I was a little taken back by the prices especially since this only shows $$ on yelp I would consider it more like three and a half. Example: $21.50 was one of the lowest prices for a small entree option. Lamb Kebob: 5/5, the lamb was delicious. Perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. Chicken Kebob: 5/5, same as the lamb. Cooked perfectly with great flavor and seasoning. Highly recommend either one. Hummus Appetizer: 5/5, best hummus I've ever had from texture to taste. The basmati rice with orange peel is hands down the best rice dish I've ever had in my life & highly recommend it with your entree. Overall, this was a great experience and I'm happy I came here for lunch. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and really went out of their way to make this a great meal. This was actually the second time I have been to Colbeh. The first time was a few years ago and I was not impressed at all. I have too start off by saying I am not a big fan of kosher resturaunts at all. This time My daughter picked the restaurant for us too meet at so we could meet our future son in law and his parents. As the first time I was there I had the steak and did not like it This time i went safe and had the salmon with white rice. The salmon was actually pretty good. The service was excellent and the staff was fast and friendly. I personally would not go back to Colbeh myself again. I have to say the only plus for me about Colbeh is that it was a lot closer than having to drive to five towns to eat diner. read more

Great food, great service, portions are "love" sized. Came with my family for my birthday. I ordered the Chilean Sea bass skewers over dill rice and my son ordered schnitzel with fries. Various foods were brought to the table "on the house" and I think I got an additional three meals out of the sea bass. They also catered a few years ago my son's bar mitzvah dinner for our out of town guests. Overdelivered, No one left hungry. A somewhat last minute visit, I'm preggo and with too much snow everywhere we were limited to places that have either valet parking or a parking lot. Colbeh is always a staple, solid go to. It's a bit dated in decor but the food is always solid, always consistent and always delicious. Plus the staff is super friendly, personable and won't ever let your water glass get less than half empty. Ordered some meaty cumin laced cigars as our app, they sent out a flavorful tadek topped with sabzi as well. For our entree a combo kabob platter with a strip steak kabob and a ground beef kabob, and a braised veal & eggplant in tomatoe sauce stew. All beautifully prepared, presented in large shareable platters and most importantly piping hot! For dessert we opted for the Tiramisu and the Cappuccino cake and for parave desserts they were quite good. Since it was tu b'shevat a complimentary plate of fresh sweet watermelon and honeydew were served as well. We had over 100 adults in a private room and the food was delicious, hot and plentiful! Legendary experience we will be talking about for years. Six star service that made my 7 member family feel like we were the only people in the restaurant even though it was packed to capacity. Exceptional, mouthwatering food across multiple courses. very generous portions- we felt like this is the only restaurant that Inflation had not hit. we were there to celebrate an important family milestone. when I told the waiter why we there he gave me a complimentary glass of 18 year scotch (quite tasty) and an unopened bottle of wine to my son in celebration of the milestone. We went with some Persian friends abd they ordered and was it an abundance of amazing textures, scents and colors. And though I don't recall the names of most of the dishes they brought suffice it to say that they were plentiful. Since you eat practically family-style if someone orders a kebab you're going to probably be offered a piece of it. And so they ordered all the meats available and I had my usual rice and salads but it was fabulous to have so many different types of rices that they prepare with different kinds of infusions of orange peels and perhaps mint. When it comes to Iranian restaurants, whether in New York, LA, Toronto, or otherwise, Colbeh is the gold standard. Its food isn't the absolute best, but the whole experience is what deserves five stars and what makes it the most popular Iranian restaurant, probably in the country. Something that's iconic of Colbeh is how they bring out several dishes on the house before you even order. No other restaurant does this, and not to this extent. The complimentary pickles, hummus, and, of course, tahdig apps are what sets you up for true hospitality that the Iranian culture is known for. As for the meal, I recommend you get the barg, koobideh, or joojeh if you're in the mood for protein. If you want a stew, you can't go wrong with the ghormeh sabzi (national dish and my personal "last meal before I die"), fesenjoon, or bamieh. Their grilled salmon and swordfish are also pretty special. Dessert - try the bakhlava, or faloodeh if they have it. They bring out fruit on the house too. Colbeh is also popular for events, like engagement parties, baby showers, and birthdays, in the back. Right by the train and connected to the Andrew Hotel, it's convenient for guests and visitors from other towns. My husband and I hired Colbeh to cater our wedding and it was incredible. Many of our guests approached us and told us that it was the best food they had ever had at any wedding. Kosher~yes! a friend suggested we go to Great Neck for a tasty classy meal it is worth the trip we were warmly greeted and immediately served giant warm pitas we wanted to order everything on the menu but narrowed it down to babaganosh (yummy),Hummus (like the best I ever had)gondi(chicken/matzah tasting balls(skip them) we were given on the house a rice dish with greens and chop meat very tasty but I have forgotten the name , just eat it anyway kabobs were a mix of chicken and steak and so good one highlight was the orange rice its not orange but has candied orange pieces and I could eat it every day they also have cherry rice on the menu and I am craving to taste this as I type it was crowded and its a bit noisy but very worth eating here ps we came in skinny jeans and we came with a Mom dressed to the nines read more

The food here is amazing! Every year, we come here for our holiday party and the food never fails to impress me. Perfectly cooked and seasoned salmon. The rice selection is outstanding, the cherry rice and the orange rice are my favorite so far. The place can get extremely crowded especially during the holiday season, so be prepared to sit like sardines in a jar. It can also get loud at times but I'm all for it. The food is what makes this place totally worth a visit: get the salmon and try the various rice selections Drinks: I always stick to beer so I can't say much Service: consistent and good, waiters/waitresses are always checking on. I used Colbeh to cater a wedding in 2020. Wedding was outdoors and was covid safe. the day before the wedding, there was a tropical storm and there was no electricity throughout long island but Colbeh brought in generators and the wedding went on seemlessly. Pejman is really devoted to his customers and treats them like his own family. Same for the restaurant in Great Neck--great ambiance, amazing food and service is top notch! I have eaten colbeh too many times. If there's is a funeral A baby shower or any sort of event even corporate meetings colbeh is the place to go. The last time I was at the baby shower I had the worse pains ever and 3 hours later it all went down the drain. Yet again my husband and I both had extreme pains and exploded in the bathroom. I wasn't so lucky my pains lasted for 7 hours. Even his coworker whose a beast got sick in the morning. I don't eat the meat here because it's always over cooked and chewy so I try to stick to only the fish. I never get sick on fish and I cook for myself all the time and these occurrences of food poisoning never happens. It has to be it is not fresh and they don't want to waste the food so they serve it. This is a beautiful restaurant and events place. I had my wedding party there and it was marvelous. I loved that the rabbi came and did the ceremony. And then there was unlimited drinks which were good and top shelf, there was soda for people who did not drink alcohol as well. People were amazing to us and the best part there is plenty of parking for the party we had and U can use the lot From the train station as well. For us we ended up getting few hotel rooms Which was so convenient to change shoes reapply make up etc and rest after the big event. The food Was over the top the baklava was good, the rice with cherry and orange rice was so good. Food Was everywhere photographers were great and out of this world they took many wonderful pics and we got a book as well of Pics. We ordered our own cake but there were so many pastries that it was over the top with sweets. D j was good energy was amazing wedding was special And blast . Although we do not get the opportunity to dine out often, when we do, we run to Colbeh of Great Neck. The food is consistently perfect, the management goes out of their way to make us feel like we are the greatest thing since sliced bread, the prices are very reasonable and the service is impeccable. The well appointed, well decorated, relaxing ambiance is the perfect backdrop for an amazing meal. The portions are extremely generous and I have never left hungry. From beginning to end, they consistently offer additional food free of charge so you're never more than a minute or two without something to eat. And they make sure your water glass is always full. It's great for couples and families alike, and the restaurant is large enough to accommodate large or small groups. I've eaten at colbeh at least a dozen times in their nyc and roslyn locations. The food is excellent. Here in Great Neck - awful! I've been informed by friends in this community that Colbeh staff disregard patrons who are not persian. Last week, I ate at Colbeh along with several non-persian friends. Within 30min of finishing the meal half us with each of our different entrees became ill. That stomach ache continued into the next day. Never thought a Jewish establishment would mistreat us other Jews simply because we're not persian. I will recommend to all white/American non-persian people never eat at this establishment! read more

Last night we held an intimate Jewish Day School event with over 100 people, in the private room at Colbeh in Great Neck. It was an incredible event thanks to Colbeh and the team. I highly recommend the beautiful event space if you need a sophisticated venue with great food for a special occasion. Pejman and Benjamin were truly a pleasure to work. They, along with the entire staff, were responsive, caring, thoughtful, friendly, warm, honest, and extremely helpful from the beginning planning stages, interim planning, setup, as well as throughout the whole evening. The food was plentiful, high-quality, and delicious. There was tender meat, salmon, lots of vegetarian options, rice dishes, all types of salads, tasty desserts, drinks....I can go on and on. It was a true feast. The bartender was great as well. The room was set up perfectly and was elegant. The team at Colbeh is experienced and smoothly gets it all done well. So my family went for a quick bite to Colbeh in Great Neck. We ordered lamb kabob and was served what was clearly beef. The server swore this was their lamb. It just horrible to be lied to especially when you have to pay double since it's Passover. They didn't even give us the option to take it off the bill. Basically convinced us to order something else instead and charged us even more instead of just leaving the price of the "lamb". Just be mindful and make sure you get what you pay for and More importantly ask for. More over we originally ordered a green salad and Greek eggplant salad. The waiter comes back with the green salad and "Spanish" eggplant and says oh we're out of Greek eggplant and I brought you Spanish eggplant instead. Who does that? If your out of something you come over inform us and let us decide if we want to order something instead don't just assume and bring it to us and charge us for it.
