Make no mistake, there is a wealth of restaurants to chose from in this fun, Bavarian-themed town, most of them featuring German style dining. I'll have to admit, not my preferred cuisine, but we decided to give this a try. The restaurant is on the second floor of a building on the Main Street. We lucked out and got a window seat overlooking the town square, perfect to watch the falling snow and people watch. Fish and fowl are my preferred protein sources, which can be problematic in German dining- they have tons of sausage, bratwurst and schnitzels here - but I was able to order their Huhner Schnitzel, with a breaded and pan-fried chicken breast, topped with a creamy mustard sauce, with braised red cabbage and spatzle. The mustard sauce was absolutely fantastic, and made the whole dish, wow. The cabbage was super-tasty, I'm guessing braised in apple cider with cinnamon and maybe cardamom. Spatzle (sorry, should have umlauts above the "a") is a very small, flavorless pasta, but works very well when combined with the other parts of the meal. My wife was looking for a lighter bite, so she got the Malibu, roasted Brussels Sprouts which were done to perfection. This place was next level. Last night we ate at Andreas and had the absolute worst restaurant experience we've ever had, but this made up for it. First of all, everyone was wearing masks and the glasses were clean (unlike Andreas). The pretzel was delicious (also, much better than Andreas). We had the German chocolate cake martini and the nutty Russian, both were amazing. For dinner, we had the Hunter schnitzel and jagerschnitzel - both were delicious and we didn't even get photos because they were too good. Came here the other day with a large group and service was good but the food wasnt anything to brag about. I ordered the Rahm Schnitzel and it was super thin. I wanted to compare it to Andreas and it lost by a landslide. I knew to not expeect much from their calamari but i was still disappointed it didnt come out crunchy but soggy instead. I tried their fries and it was more hard than it was crispy. I wouldnt recommend this place based on their food alone. read more

I came here on 12/8/18. I ordered the french fries and the Goulash. The food was ok. The goulash had good flavor, but was luke warm, contained overdone beef and I found a long strand of blonde hair in it, but didn't bother bringing it up since the place was so busy. The fries were fine and came with a nice dijon honey mustard dip. They were just fried frozen fries though. Service was friendly, but somewhat slow, but that was understandable since it was very busy. Came here after a long day of shopping in the town. Ate the cobra Kai burger and my significant other had the patty melt. Fries and the meat platter were under seasoned, and her Au Jus was very salty. The burger as a whole however were pretty good and the fries were very crispy. Brews and cocktails were great. Low rating due to high prices for really poor execution of our meal. One order was incorrectly brought out three different times, four people in our party didn't even get their food at all ( we were on two separate checks) and we waited for over 40 minutes before we had to stop someone and check on it. My wife and I came here for the schnitzel and they didn't disappoint! I got the jager schnitzel and substituted pork for chicken. The schnitzel itself was great, tasted very homestyle, the way my mom would make them. The sides were also good except for the red cabbage, which sucks because red cabbage is an amazing side for schnitzel. It tasted like they cooked the cabbage in sticks of cinnamon. I think the chef went to Wilford Brimley's school of glucose because this burger was so sweet, it was inedible. I had the Le Royale burger which came with a 1/2 pound of overly carmelized onions, a tiny strip of Brie, and the beef was absolutely charred. My whole table has issues with their burgers. An alright place to chill at to avoid the cold winters when you don't want to sit outside at the Munchen Haus. Gotta say the pretzel was the best part of the meal. However that peanut butter, bacon coconut sauce was weird. Tasted like low quality peanut butter with no hints of coconut in it. Their sauerkraut is on the sweeter side, which throws off the sausage platter we ordered. The snitzel's are pretty good with the sauces they serve up (creamy white or mushroom sauce) which highlighted the dish. This place is sehr gut! My friend and I were in Leavenworth for the Christmas tree lighting stuff. It was cold outside and we got hungry from battling the crowds. There were a couple of sausage and beer places, but I picked this place because it has several kinds of schnitzel on the menu and that's what I was really craving! Bavarian Bistro is located upstairs and it wasn't terribly busy for a Friday evening - we waited a few minutes for a table to open up (although we could've also sat at the bar if we wanted to, which looked cuter and more fun). We ordered the brussels sprouts to start with and those came out nice and crispy! They were good and the plate was a giant portion! For mains, I ordered the jager schnitzel, fried pork cutlet with mushroom gravy with red cabbage and spaetzle. My friend ordered the rahm schnitzel which was exactly like mine except with a creamy bacon sauce instead of the mushroom gravy. The food was really really tasty! The schnitzel was delicious! The meat was thin and perfectly fried and drenched in gravy. The spaetzle was pretty good too and provided good carbs to go with my protein. It was a lot of food. So much that neither of us could finish our meat and had to take it to go. The red cabbage was my least favorite - it tasted like it had been cooked in apple cider. It had flavors of like cinnamon or some kind of spice like that. I guess that's traditional?
