With it's laid-back vibe and quiet location, CBC quickly became my favorite patio to unwind after work and enjoy come cold cocktails and late-night bites. The space is basically divided into 4 seating areas: one inside and then an area on each of the three sides facing the streets. The crowd is pretty eclectic, with a variety of ages and styles representing. There are tables with and without umbrellas, as well as a few Adirondack chairs. They have misters and fans to keep you cool in the summertime and ample bike parking. There is a parking lot behind, as well as street parking available. The late night menu offers kolaches, brisket tacos (on flour tortillas), a house-made pretzel, or a PB & J with milk. The tacos and the pretzel are my preferences of the options, but I like the dinner brisket tacos better (they come on corn tortillas). Other regular menu food options consist of mainly sandwiches and hot dogs (tasty toppings and franks from Rudolph's in Deep Ellum). Snacks are available from the regular menu as well, including house made pickles that you can buy to take home and Bar Trash, which is a terrible-for-you-but-oh-so-tasty-when-drinking mixture consisting of cheetos, cheeez-its, popcorn, peanuts and pretzels, tossed in a spicy seasoning and warmed in the oven. Drinking is what I do most here, though... The Moscow Mule (you pick your vodka), the Panther, the Pony Up, the craft and local beers and ciders on tap... all are great options. Some cheaper options grace the menu as well for those less-discerning drinkers. Great patio, great drink list, great staff, great food, great location... It's the perfect recipe. read more

Honestly this is a great place but the staff is bipolar and needs training. It's irritating when they advertise brisket burgers and quesadillas and then don't have brisket. Bro put up a sign or wipe it off the board. The bartenders can't make up their minds on whether they are gonna be passive aggressive d*cks shrouded behind a pleasant disposition or if they're just gonna be rude. The dude with the tattoos is probably the worst. He doesn't like to be laughed at and can't take a joke. Luckily I barely see him in there. The other dude with the hat, Earl, he's nice but also irritating. The lady with the leg is the best they got. She's cool. I go in almost every week but they still treat regulars the same, meh. This place been here a year and I never heard of it until my friends wife told us, so we checked it out. I like the set up its super laid back, nice mature crowd and a real comfy and inviting feeling. They have nice outside seating as well. I tried the Panther and the Moscow Mule. The Panther was good with a nice balance. The Moscow was a bit lemony prolly because of the ginger in it. Service was friendly. Didn't try the food, so will definitely check it out again and explore the food and other drink options. I recommend you try because I will be back( in the terminator voice) lol. read more

Cool little place to grab a beer. We tried the dips (tomatillo salsa, tomato salsa, pimento dip) and liked all of them a lot. Also tried the HUGE "Bully" sandwich, which comes with brisket, cole slaw and cheddar with a side of chips. The bun was warm, slightly crispy on the outside and held up nicely to the filling. The brisket was pretty tender but a little bland, but there is also a pretty good BBQ sauce on the side, which makes up for it. Overall a good experience. read more

The food is absolutely delicious, and they have GREAT specials every day of the week. They have an extraordinary selection of local DFW and other craft beer. I was lucky enough to get a SD Stone beer when I was there. They have a great HH and the beers were $3-4. The staff was very cool. Having a cool bartender is simply an added bonus when going out. All-in-all, this place gets 5 stars for atmosphere, quality of food, variety of beer choices, customer service, and outstanding HH/daily special prices. We will be back! Multiple times. read more

The Texas weather finally held up for long enough last night that we could try out a new restaurant with patio seating. I wish it hadn't been this place. When we walked in it wasn't overly crowded because it was still early. We weren't sure if we sat ourselves or what the deal was so we stood around. Looking confused. People passed us who I thought might be waitresses (turns out they were) and didn't even acknowledge us. We finally went outside and sat down. More waitresses walked past us, including the one who ended up serving us, but no one said anything for at least 10 minutes. It gave me time to look around at our surroundings and I absolutely loved the set up of the place. The patio is beautiful on a nice sunny day and I like that the bar is open in the back so you can be indoors while still feeling fresh air. Our waitress, who is hands down the reason we had a bad experience, finally came over to greet us. She seemed incredibly disinterested in having to interact with us, but more on that in a minute. Our food was delicious. I got the jive turkey sandwich, which was missing the jalapeños from the menu but that was probably for the best. The aioli was really good and the sandwich was a big portion. My boyfriend got the old vern hot dog, topped with cheese and brisket, which was also great. Our waitress came by to take our empty trays and glasses. There was literally nothing in front of us. She then went a stood by the opening to the inside of the restaurant. She took a towel and wiped her face. She whispered to one of the other waitresses. She came out and cleaned a table that hadn't been occupied since we had been there. I could see her the whole time. We were sitting there with a completely empty table for 15 minutes and she never once went to the printing system (which is outside) to print our check. Waitresses passed us and once again didn't say anything. I finally got up and walked over the her to ask if we could have our check. She printed it right away, and then went back to cleaning a patio table for a few minutes before she even brought it over. The food was tasty, but not worth the drive to get such terrible service. CBC is pretty badass. I come here before volleyball games at the Sandbar and get the $8 kobe beef burger. It's a great piece of meat and you can't beat the price. They have a good atmosphere and a friendly staff. Big TV for the games and great outdoor seating. Great spot in Deep Ellum. read more

CBC was one of the bars I stopped by while visiting Deep Ellum. The area was pleasantly crowded, so I decided to give it a go. Upon arrival we were greeted by a person working there right away. We sat down and looked at the drink menus. Everything was reasonably priced. I got a Moscow mule, as always, and my friend got a beer. Our drinks came our quicky despite the crowd. The drinks were good. The mule wasn't too strong nor light. The drink was just right. There was water available at the drink stations. There's a cooler with a bunch of cups. The Beer Mecca of Deep Ellum, CBC is! The place has a great feel, an amazing patio and some great selections of draft beers on Tap. The only downfall to CBC is that they don't open up sooner for lunch. Burger Tuesday's is truly when you want to visit. Kelsey hooked us up and made some great recommendations of burger toppers. They don't make these burgers any other day of the week, which makes them especially awesome when they do and the attention to detail on cooking temperature is outstanding. The burger gives Rodeo Goat a run for their money, and I would put the quality of burger, and bun ratio against them any day of the week, as long as that day is Tuesday. Decided to give the Tuesday for their Wagyu beef burger day after a friend had recommended it to me. Certainly not disappointed. A very healthy portion that includes jalepenos, bacon, and American cheddar cheese. The jalepenos are very mild if you are worried about spiciness. I added an egg and some avocado and made it a double. I'm taking off one star because the avocado wasn't fully ripe and my burger came well done and I was not asked how I'd like it cooked; I'm guessing the burgers all come the same way. The wait staff is very nice and efficient. The patio is very spacious. I would highly recommend this space for groups and it's outdoor seating. My meal total was $10 which is a fantastic price . Found this gem 5 minutes from my apartment on a Saturday afternoon and I was pleasantly surprised. They have a nice patio area which is great when it's nice out. Of course I had to order a beer and the infamous mac n cheese dog. They also had a weekend brunch special with a buy one get one mimosa carafe and what's a brunch without mimosas? I had no idea how LARGE these carafes were going to be. Split between my friend and I, we both definitely drank a little too much. Good thing it's one of the few things I'm good at doing! This was my first time at the CBC. I was there to meet a group of people for a meeting. When I first walked in, the inside was not that big, but the patio area was large. It was very hot outside but the misters kept you cool while you enjoyed yourself on the patio. Beer was cold and they had a lot of selections. Now onto the service....the service was awful! I ordered a cocktail...and...well...never got it. I ordered an appetizer and....well....never got that either. How do I know the beer was cold? I had a sip of the ladies' beer I was sitting next to. They received their appetizers and at that moment I was glad mine never came. But I guess it's not known as the "Great Food Company." If you want a place to hang out in the neighborhood, it is good for that. But in that group, I know people traveled from Fort Worth, McKinney, Desoto, etc and the ones I spoke with were not happy that they traveled so far for so little. CBC has become our Monday night hangout spot for our weekly Cards Against Humanity tradition! (grab a beer and come join us!) The staff is friendly, it's within walking distance of our loft and we can bring our dogs along, too! The first time I went one of the owners greeted me and remembered me three days later. He accused me of doing something with their paper towel machine that was broken when I entered the bathroom. Great place and nice staff with the exception of the little man. He seems to have a bee in his bonnet. If you want a calm experience look elsewhere. Unless you don't need to pee. But if you must use the restroom, be clear of the little guy because he will likely make you stop using the restroom to confront you about something you haven't done. read more

I may have discovered a new "tater cellar" by accident. I was planning on going to Doublewide to have a beer and watch some March Madness roundball with a buddy but they were closed and CBC was open. We decided to give it a shot, and I have been coming to CBC regularly ever since. There is a nice set up to this place. An open seating area and a covered porch flank the interior bar. The interior of the bar has a brick/ spotty-plaster and exposed beam look that is legitimate...not like the fake look of a bar in Uptown. Between the bartender and the servers, you're always well-covered. There is a full bar with a good selection of local brews but also, to my delight, a good selection of American swill including Coors Original. I've had the opportunity to try the hot dogs at CBC, and they are exceptional. Quality wiener, great bun, and some very interesting topping options. My favorite is the "Old Vern" which has brisket, cheddar, onions and bbq sauce, and I also liked the "Senor" which has bacon, fresco cheese and avocado. They also have a wagyu meatball hero that is very good The staff here is fantastic. Super friendly, laid back but always spot on when another round is needed. The regulars were a good mix of people, not like your typical DE crowd. The place seems very laid back...it didn't have the pseudo-edginess of most Deep Ellum places. read more

Great little bar at the end of the Deep Ellum strip. Mostly local brew but they have a full bar. Foods great love the hot dogs my recommendation the Mac n Cheese dog. I mean come on Bacon Mac n Cheese on a foot long hotdog. They have an ok late night menu but I would just try to come early it's nothing to crazy over like PB n J. I hope great things for these guys! First, really great finish-out on re-furbing this little abandoned building I've walked past many times while imagining things it could be. The inside is open and airy with the big garage doors that can be opened in tolerable weather, and I'm surprised at how big the outside patio ended up being--lots of picnic tables and doesn't seem crowded together. Top tier! I'm not a beer guy, but inside Rocko made me a couple of great b&c's. Menu had good stuff on it--because I was initially drawn here by the Observer's (or whoever's) online pic of an enormous awesome looking meatball sub, I ordered that right away. My friend got the chips & dip. Food seems a tad pricey, but it tastes great--chips came with 3 excellent dips (both rojo and verde, plus a cream cheese with candied jalapeños we couldn't get enough of) and the meatball sub was made with wagyu beef. It didn't look quite as huge as the picture that brought me here, but it did look as good--and it really was delicious! Good bread, plenty of meatballs, and extra cup of marinara to dip. Wish it was $8 instead of $12, but I know these guys gotta make a living. Overall, a fun place offering an alternative scene for Deep Ellum between Sons and Doublewide. Chicks'll dig it and dudes will surely appreciate all the beeruh's on tap. I had to categorize this as a "cocktail bar" because Yelp didn't have an option for what it really is: a beer bar. Love this place. I recently discovered this gem after my bf has been telling me about it for a bit. I went on sundays and bought buy one get one free mimosa carafes for 16 bucks. These are not full of orange juice and strong. I got totally buzzed and spent 3 hours enjoying my time on the awesome patio with friends. It has indoor seating, a garage door that opens to the patio if you do not like sun and a patio with fans/water to cool you down. It has interesting beers on draft and in bottles. However, it also has pretty well made cocktails. I am one to be a bit anti uptown but still like nice beers and fruity cocktails from time to time. This place is a perfect mix of nice with that Deep Ellum/expo vibe that is often missing from the bs of Dallas. read more
