Lee Harvey's is a staple in south dallas. It's about as divey of a dive bar as you get. I personally will take a dive bar over a cocktail lounge any day. If you're that kinda dirt bag too, then this is the real thing. The place is falling apart and that's exactly how it should be. There's a lot of places that try to capture that aesthetic but you don't get that with money, you get it with age and dedicated clientele, which is all the proof you need it's a good place. The food is also surprisingly good for a place like this. It's a kinda build your own burger with all the toppings on the side but that's what makes it feel like home. If you're fancy, skip this. They have street parking and a couple of lots to park at. I came to meet a couple of friends after works . I opted for the fish and chips. The fries were great, they put some kind of seasoning on them that I ate more fries than I normally would. The service was good, Aubrey was very helpful on helping me select a drink. We had another grand time at Lee Harvey's yesterday, lunching and drinking and chatting with the nearby bar stool inhabitants. I tried the fish and chips, which was tasty and well prepared but only had two medium sized fillets, a bit on the skimpy portion size. Kat the bartender is there every weekday for lunch and afternoons, and she is awesome. Yesterday, she changed the white boy 70s rock Spotify station to Townes Van Zandt, and the whole afternoon was elevated as a result. read more

Drove up from Laredo on a Tuesday to get a bowl of soup. Parked my rig outside and proceeded in. Very impressive draft microbrew selection with special surprise draft options changing weekly. The barkeep said to call for updates if that's your thing. I don't drink that shit so I ordered up a corona with a lime, ain't no bitch in my blood. I felt like mixing things up a bit and ordered a shot. Told the very kind bartender I'd like something light and sweet, like banana schnapps, and she recommended a shot called Mortal Kombat, great choice, very refreshing. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and it's pet friendly! Mixed drinks are loaded just right. Food is well worth it. Everything is very flavorful and made to order. Sauces are a a great compliment to the food and don't overpower it. Would recommend getting an Uber or Lyft in order to just sit back and enjoy the evening and ride back responsibly cuz the place welcomes you to unwind. Ok.. so we have been in the area for concerts in the last few months, and going to Lee Harvey's has been one of the top places to visit. It's small inside, unassuming, great prices, and a huge patio! We have also opted to eat dinner there more than once because they have a really tasty menu that is very reasonably priced. Have wanted to check this out for quite some time. Took my sexy woman out for drinks and tunes on Saturday night. The neighborhood is a little sketchy and pretty much only street parking. The building looks like it should be condemned and the restrooms were gross. There is a fairly large outdoor area and a couple of small bars inside. We both had a classic burger and it was fairly average. There was a Cars cover band at 930 and they were fire!!! Overall pretty good people watching and the dallas skyline in the background. If dirty dive bars are your thing this is it!!! read more

I don't know what to make of this place. Did this used to be a good place to go to? Did the owners die and random strangers now run the bar off and on? Was this a nice place that is now derelict on purpose or by happenstance? Also, was it serendipity that now feet away are new apartment complexes where couples of various genders or non-genders now visit Lee Harvey's with their various toy dog breeds? Was what once was a dive bar now a hipster hangout purely by accident? Do people visiting even know who Lee Harvey was? We went here cause we had our dog with us. The place is an absolute dump, but I think what was once neglected is now done so on purpose. The food was excellent. Sandwiches and beers hit the spot. Rustic isn't the word for it. Your grandfather's shed might be more appropriate. Grizzled blue collar workers and couples with dogs to be seen here. I got a kick out of the guy in a sport coat doing selfies with his gal in a dress inside. They were laughing at the state of the place and I was laughing at them. Weird place. I love this place. It's so chill. The people who go here are far from the consultant JCrew type from Dallas and it's very refreshing. Beer is cheap! My go to is the fish and chips if I'm hungry. Very dog friendly, it started raining and they didn't care that we brought a dog in. read more

I have had a blast every time I've gone here. Super cool inside and outside. I legitimately think they have my favorite burger in Dallas. On my most recent visit I went with their burger of the month. It was a "caprese salad burger" with fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato, basil, and a balsamic glaze. It was phenomenal. Only downsides are the location and the heat in the summer. Nonetheless I have never had a bad time at Lee Harvey's. GET A BURGER. We tried to go here at 7:30pm on a Saturday because the reviews for the food looked Great, and we had kind of a large group that the patio could have easily accommodated. However, we walk up to the gate, and the guy tells us there's a $10 cover/donation for the band. LOL the band was not good y'all. Felt really early for a cover, and the guy was not letting us simply not "donate" in order to give the business money for their food. Really disappointed!!!! read more

I like the steak here. Opt for side spring salad with balsamic vinaigrette and order a side of french fries. The salad really seals the deal - feta cheese, apple/pear, nutty awesomeness to compliment a juicy slab of steak. We went to this joint after church. We go to First Baptist Dallas downtown. The service was good. The guy who took our order was very friendly and accommodating. My wife and I had cheeseburgers and fries. The meat was cooked medium just like I asked and the fries were browned to perfection....yum! The only thing I would change about the burger was that the pickles were sweet and not dill. Sweet is for dessert in my book! Other than that a great experience and we will be back! read more

Rang in 2024 with some locals at this place. I had a very fun time. The locals are friendly and inviting to strangers. Great vibes, better than standard bar food! We had the special with butternut squash soup topped with fried brussels sprouts and feta or goat cheese and a rye bread grilled cheese with havarti and prosciutto! My hub had a burger with half fries and onion rings, yummy bread and butter pickles, thick patty,and jalapeños. I had some craft beers and the hub had some American standards like tall boy PBRs. Best dive bar in Dallas! Ok, so it might not be a pristine uptown nightclub, but that's what gives Lee Harvey's it's charm! First off, the food is great and is what I would call "cookout food," like burgers, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, etc. The live bands are always amazing and usually are rock or pop orientated. This is a dive bar, but if you're in the area, the hamburgers here are awesome! Onion rings are great and the best tasting pickles come with the burger. I was still hungry after eating the burger, I hadn't eaten all day, I ordered their steak street tacos and they were awesome tasting. It's been a minute since I've updated my LH review. In the past couple of months I've had the perfect days/nights here. Our own Kaia V won friend of the day a couple of weeks ago (check out their FB page and you could win too). It was on a Friday where I got the day off early from work so we were at Lee Harvey's around 3:30pm. Only a few people were there. The weather outside was PERFECT! We sat outside and had the perfect time with perfect friends and perfect drinks! Last week we went for $1 taco night. You're seriously a winner with $1 tacos. The fish with the aoli sauce, the beef with the onions are just delicious and they are only a friggin $1. A DOLLAR. I sat at the bar this time since it was chilly outside (I'm a wimp) and some good friends joined me. I got to meet Timm the bartender, which I have known him forever it seems, and think I've met him before when he did a short run at Elbow Room. We all had a good time chatting and drinking and eating and hearing Timm and Kaz tell stories of some of the regulars. We eventually went outside when the fire pits were going and continued to have the best time ever. Of the 10+ years I've been going to LH I can't think of a bad time. In fact many of my greatest memories of being out and about involve this place. I'm dreaming of their perfect patio right now. read more
