A post-hang divey jaunt, thats been around for a minute, there for all occasions. The owner visits often, dogs in tow. Daughter bartends. Mom's illustration on the wall. It's a real family affair. There's a pool table and juke box in the back. We convene after shows, Omm included, performances, screenings and just for a nice night cap in general. They screen IDs at the door and change to a limited menu -after 10pm. Known for their onion rings, there isn't a bad item on the menu. Food ranges from nachos, to burgers, grilled cheese to corn dogs (if after 10p). I've had all sorts of drinks here too- including Malört. See my photos as suggestions. Went again more recently for the jalapeño corn dog. What I didn't know when I walked in and took a seat in a booth on the back wall was there was no table service at that hour. Bartender happened to walk by and asked if I had ordered at the bar. No, I did t know I needed to do that. He took my order for a Guinness and a corn dog, and delivered it a while later. I noticed an older man with a woman in the booth next to me. Something about him seemed familiar. When he got up and I saw his face I recognized him as "The Old Gray Wolf" a Dallas radio personality. During his afternoon drive time show, he had a segment where he described a lounge we were entering, The Sunset Lounge, and I always imagined this place as that lounge. They have a pool table and decent outside seating but the bartender dudes are so far up their own ass every single time I come and it's gotten to a point where I will not come back anymore. I feel treated like a child and micromanaged for every little thing. (Having my vape in my hand and being asked not to vape inside which I never have and sit outside to do so, setting my drink on the pool table to grab a pool stick for 5 seconds and getting scolded) Really sucks because it's 3 mins from my apartment and a convenient local spot. Truly the nicest and cleanest dive bar you can enter in DFW. They arent wrong when they say elevated dive bar on the outside. Walking in, I felt like I was transported 30 years back into time. Low lighting, lots of decor, all bathed in wood. I ordered a BLT sandwich with onion rings. The BLT came with plenty of bacon that was crispy but felt like it was oven baked? There was no chew to it, but it was just the right amount of crackling texture. They give you a generous amount of bacon, so its certainly feels worth it. The lettuce and tomatoes, and mayo were all tasty and refreshing. The bread was toasted just right to have a nice texture, have support, but wasnt overdone. The onion rings were textbook standard, but they hit the spot if youre wanting onion rings. I didnt order any drinks because Im a man of novelty and dont want to drink whats tried and true, but I imagine they do a good job, since everyone had a drink in their hand. For the most part, people were drinking bud light or coors out of bottles. While I cant see myself racing back over here, they execute the standards quite well. If Im in the area and crave traditional bar food, I would come back here. read more

The food is really good. My friends and I used to come often just for the burgers but lately the service has been awful regardless if it's busy or not. The waitress only came once for our orders and then for the check. We had to grab our own napkins and go to the bar to refill our drinks. The staff themselves can be a bit rude and doesn't really seem like they care about their customers unless you're a regular. After 3 disappointing times of terrible service, it's not worth the hassle for the burger. read more

What a nice lil' dimly lit, neighborhood dive bar. I don't know how long this place has been around, but from the looks inside, it's been here a "minute." LOL! I adore places with "character & atmosphere." This place has both. We were hungry, so decided to eat here. We had cream cheese stuffed jalapeños, Philly cheesesteak, and a cheeseburger. The food was pretty good, considering that this is a real deal neighborhood bar. Of course, we also had wine & beer. There were lots of obvious locals sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender and waitress. Both the bartender and waitress were really friendly. There's a small patio in front. Last time I was there, some very ignorant people sat at the bar and talked smack about Houston. Well, I'm from Houston and so are many people who live in Dallas. An attack on the city I'm from is obviously an attack on me/the rest of the people who live there. Those people never learned their manners. I don't make it to the Landing much at all, but have been a handful of times over the past 10 or so years. I enjoy this dive bar! It feels old; it's also dark and cozy. I love the juke box here and the fact that they haven't gone digital, and have some local bands in the mix. Now, it's true that my favorite bar is my beloved Doublewide, for without which the makers of Boone's Farm would be bankrupt, but it's always nice to go someplace with a food menu to back it up. I LOVE cheese. Does it tear my stomach up? You bet your nasal passages. I make exceptions for LL's cheeseburger, air quality be damned. Plus, where else can you get a chicken fried brontosaurus anything? One of the best things about LL is that absolutely anyone can feel like this is their hangout. Two halloweens ago me and a friend hit it up. The bartender gave us free drinks because he loved our costumes. My friend is Jewish and went as Blossom, and anyone knowing me can tell you I was rocking tacky ass hats way before Six did, so yeah...we totally rocked the Blossom vibe. Patrons took pics with us while I tried to find me a Joey Lawrence hook up. Ended up making out with nachos and a Makers Mark, so that was equally hot I guess. I came here for another Burger Wednesday with some friends. I loved how it was called an upscale dive bar, it was a pretty sweet place. The decor was on point and it looked like there were a lot of regulars at the place. I ordered the burger which came with fries. The burger was fantastic, the bun was crispy and the meat was cooked perfectly. The burger as a whole tasted fresh and was a joy to eat.
