I live at Mosaic and can say this restaurant is the most enjoyable part of this building. Chris is always super welcoming and passes that attitude down to his employees. All the people leaving negative comments are definitely unpleasant/ignorant people who probably just didn't get the response they wanted since Chris tends to carry himself in a mature, yet stern manner. News flash, some people are actually willing to stick up for themselves when you act like an idiot in their place of business! When things get busy, he's in there working with his employees, which is admirable. The prices/portions are fair, and the food always hits the spot. The man is simply out here to run a business. You give him respect, and he shows you the same courtesy. I have far too many examples of good deeds he has shown me. I went in the morning around 9am and ordered one breakfast taco, bacon egg and cheese. There was only one girl working, it was taking her forever to cook the bacon because the griddle hadn't been turned on. The hours state 7am to 11 am for breakfast, not sure why the griddle hadn't been turned on. It took forever to get one taco. She apologized. I visited Primo Tacos and Hot Dogs on 12-30-2023 at 2 a.m. with my boyfriend to get some tacos. When we walked in there were only four people in the restaurant that were seated and already had their food. Seeing as there was no line we ordered four tacos and were quietly waiting in the back of the restaurant for our food to be ready. After 30 minutes of not getting our food and more people coming in and ordering, my boyfriend asked the chef how long he thinks the tacos will take. The chef nicely responded that it would be around 30-35 minutes so my boyfriend came and told me that. At this point it is around 2:30 a.m. and Primo closes at 3 in the morning. Seeing as the four tacos were not worth an hour wait, i asked the chef to confirm that the four tacos would be another half hour to which he said yes and it was because they got "busy". I told him i totally understand and that it was no problem and kindly asked if there was any way for us to get a refund. At this point I notice that they were cooking the meals of the other customers who came after us instead of ours. The chef was very helpful and said that the owner can give us a refund. Upon hearing this, the owner named Chris visibly got mad and started yelling at me telling me to "get out of my store" over and over again. At first, I thought he was just joking with me so i remained standing by the kiosk waiting for the refund so i could leave. At this point, the owner started making his way to where I was standing and raising his voice more, and started threatening me saying that if i don't leave he is going to call the cops on me for trespassing and started cussing at me. He then pulled out his phone and started describing to someone what me and my boyfriend looked like and what clothes we were wearing. Not wanting to cause a scene or get in trouble, I made my way back to where my boyfriend was sitting and told him we need to leave and explained to him that for some reason the owner out of nowhere started yelling and threatening me. I have never had such a bad experience anywhere else in Dallas and am very upset at what happened at Primo Tacos and Hot Dogs. I used to enjoy coming here due to how close it is, the hours, and the food. I used to even recommend it to my friends. Not anymore. I then came to find out that the owner's bizarre reaction and threats may be due to my race as was made obvious from the owner's social media presence and beliefs.
