My kids got the strawberry marshmallow with marshmallow topping and I got the cookie creme. My kids loved what they got. It was generous kids scoop. They devoured their ice cream. I thought mine was good too. The inside of the store isn't super big but it exactly what I expect for an ice cream shop. There is a couple tables inside and outside. Without a doubt the best Cold Stone location around, possibly even in the entire Bay Area. I've been coming to this location religiously since roughly 2011 or 2012. It's the only Cold Stone I like to give my business to. Although there is one slightly closer to me in Pleasant Hill, that one always seems to have roach problems, and for that reason, I'll never step foot in there. This location on the other hand has high standards, and it shows. Occasionally when I'm out of state and there's a Cold Stone in the area, the first thing I do is check the reviews and health score, largely because of the infamous Pleasant Hill location. Otherwise, I only go to this one, or to a different location strictly on the day of a grand opening, as everything's brand new and clean. I've yet to have a single bad experience here, which speaks volume, and I've had several ice cream cakes, cupcakes, etc. over the years--not to mention, tons and tons of ice cream! Always delicious and worth it. By far my favorite ice cream chain. This location also gives you very generous amounts of ice cream at times for what you pay. Highly recommend their sorbet flavors, but you can't go wrong with any of their flavors in general. There's something for everyone. Sometimes it gets crazy busy in here (which is good), while other times there's nobody, or very few. Just depends on the time of day and day of the week. Weather plays a huge role too. The owners and employees are very friendly and always go above and beyond. I hope this location will be around for many more years to come. I can't stress enough how amazing this Cold Stone location is. If you haven't tried it after all these years, then you're truly missing out. It's a no-brainer. What's the big difference between this shop and any other ice cream shop? I came to get some ice cream for a friend and was totally disappointed. When they first opened, they would mix the ice cream on the cold slab and ask you if you wanted anything mixed in or any toppings added. I ordered Mint Chip and watched the lady scoop the mint ice cream out of a container and place it in a to go cup, then she sprinkled a small amount of chocolate chips on top, placed a plastic lid on top and placed it in a plastic bag and charged me $8.50. Why would anyone buy it here when you can get better customer service and the same thing for a better price at the San Ramon Marketplace store. I questioned why there was a price difference for the same exact thing and the lady at the Danville store said and I quote,"they can charge whatever they want because they are a franchise ." Very disappointing experience for which I will never return. I cannot believe anyone wastes their time going in there. Just go to Safeway or Lucky's and buy a container of ice cream. After patiently waiting our turn, the nice lady behind the counter directed us to place our order with the man standing beside her. We greeted him and received no response. From there, the interaction only got worse. Our order was simple, yet he shockingly slammed my boyfriend's ice cream onto the counter. There was no explanation, no acknowledgment, no courtesy, and no warmth at all. Even with that treatment, we remained polite throughout. We even thanked him AFTER PAYING, and were ignored by him. He did not thank us at all or acknowledge our business. The behavior was noticeable enough that his coworker (or co-owner) went out of her way to thank us as we were leaving, which spoke volumes. I'm not sure if he was having a terrible day or if he's just a terrible person. Either way, I hope he finds a different way to occupy his time. I am pretty tired of the owners of this Cold Stone! In the past I've seen them ask kids (not the parents) if they want a cone which costs more money...right? Shouldn't be that big of a deal but it's annoying. Today our nanny took the kids here and the owner apparently scooped too much ice cream for the medium size that was ordered. She said to our nanny, "I'm going to put this in a larger bowl". Innocent enough until she charged my nanny for the large size. It was a nice Saturday afternoon and I was taking a stroll near the great impasta when I saw the exquisite sign of cold stone. My mouth immediately was watering and my taste buds were tingling. I took out my purple sequence Wallet from justice with my initials on it and saw I had 6 one dollar bills and 37 cents left. I knew what I had to do. I walked in and saw the watermelon sorbet. It look absolutely scrumptious. I got it in a waffle cone with some golden Oreos on top. I paid and left to go sit outside and indulge. That first bite feeling was not as I expected. The sorbet had a taste of sour vinegar and the cone was old and stale. I would have given this review a 0 stars but The Oreos actually tasted pretty good. The service was really good and they made it well. They also knew what they were doing. I didn't check out the cake case, but I thought I glanced and saw it packed which means..... ICE CREAM CUPCAKES! Must have these. I remember about 10+ years ago when Coldstone first introduced these. They were delectable, and they are a must for anyone that has never had them. This location is tucked away around a bunch of specialty places. One other thing: sign up for their club. They send you BOGO coupons on your birthday, and every so often just for the hell of it. Their ice cream is so rich, that it's probably one of my favorites by far that's consistent no matter what part of the country I'm in. Small parking lots, old looking dark wood buildings which all look exact same. We came on spring break where seems like everyone was out of town so I 'll take it. I had $30 worth of gift cards. Family four, I only used about half of $30 worth. The employee was kind enough to give write the remaining balance on the card with a black sharpie along the receipt, this helps quickly determine how much balance is left on the gift card. I am an ice cream junkie and so are my two boys, however the san ramon marketplace one is closer but way more crowded than this one. I am willing to drive farther away to avoid crowds and waiting. I would give this location zero stars if I could. I have been to this location so many times over the years, trying to give them another chance, but I am absolutely fed up with the Korean woman. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. she over charges me. This afternoon I brought 3 kiddos in for treats, and she automatically charged each kid for 2 additional toppings. This was incorrect! When I asked for my receipt she folded it up four times before handing it to me. When I questioned her about all of the additional add-ons, she got very flustered and "could not remember" what everyone had just ordered. Unfortunately this was not a one time occurrence.
