We are going with Old Towne Danville Bakery as our baker for our wedding cake later this year. As soon as I walked in, it smelled SO good that I practically wanted to order one of everything they had. Karen, the owner, took the time to walk me through the sampler box of the different wedding cake flavors, even though it started to get busy in the store she was very kind to make it a personal experience. There were 12 different flavors in the sampler ranging from standard red velvet or vanilla cake, to some fancier ones such as poppy seed cake with lemon curd. Our favorite was the vanilla cake with apricot preserve and we will almost certainly be having that as one of our layers. I am very excited to continue working with them as we design our cake and next time I go in I will definitely be grabbing one of th delicious looking cannoli! read more

Our dream wedding cake was made thanks to the amazing bakers at Old Towne Danville Bakery! We had the convenience of picking up a sample box with many different flavors at their bakery and picked out our three favorite flavors of marble, chocolate and vanilla with some sweet fillings. We filled out an easy questionnaire about what kind of cake we were looking for and I was able to upload our inspiration photos. Karen called a week before the wedding to confirm the details and her kind and delightful demeanor literally revived me. The cake couldn't have been made any better. We got the most precious, carefully detailed fairytale inspired cake ever and I can not thank all the incredibly talented people who helped make our cake. Karen and her team are so kind! They were the recommended vendors for our wedding and we hired them to do a dessert bar for us. Desserts were fantastic and got wiped by our guests. The cake tasting box is so generous and we had such great memories tasting cake flavors. Our dessert bar came with a complimentary small wedding cake and an anniversary cake a year later! Only gripe would be the writing can be a bit neater but that's it! read more

This review is LONG overdue! Karen and Marci worked with us to create our amazing wedding cake in March, and were so lovely to work with! I was super overwhelmed handling other wedding details, and every conversation with them made me feel so comfortable. I talked to Karen a week beforehand to confirm all cake details, and she was SO warm and had the best "We got this! Don't even worry" attitude - I can't even describe how relieved she made me feel. They were able to make our whole cake gluten-free due to my own allergy. I have had celiac for almost 20 years, and still can't even bake anything remotely edible after countless attempts. The fact that they made this cake gluten free and we all RAVED about it is 1) a miracle in itself and 2) makes me actively very jealous that I can't try their normal baked goods! I didn't even really eat dinner at my own wedding, but you bet I had two pieces of cake. We are super grateful, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding cake! read more

Karen was a pleasure to work with. Communication was clear and responses were prompt. There was a good selection of cake flavors in the sample box to choose from, which we thought was very helpful for catering to the different preferences of our guests. We ended up choosing the vanilla cake with apricot preserve for the tiered wedding cake, and the marble cake with fudge for the sheet cake. Both flavors were a hit. The delivery and set up also went without a hitch as Karen made sure to be in contact with the event coordinator and decorator. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality of the products and service from Old Towne Danville Bakery & Cafe. I highly recommend them for any specialty cakes. read more

Long time cake ordered, first time review writing for Danville bakery. This is by far the best bakery in town! Not only do their cakes taste amazing they decorate them so beautifully! I've only been more and more amazed at what they can do each time we order from here. This is also coming from someone who doesn't really like cake or to spend money on it but I now look for a reason to order a cake from Danville bakery. My family ordered my sister's graduation cake from St Mary's and Karen and her team did a great job. The cake was delicious and the design was very nice how they made the school logo. I do think the execution could've been a little bit cleaner because the congratulations part looked a little squished. We ordered the marble cake with fudge filling and it was very dense. We love Danville Bakery for all celebrations! They go above and beyond with service and decorating. We requested Minecraft theme cake and cupcakes for our 5 year old birthday party and couldn't be happier with how they turned out. There's something about a theme cake that's on point that makes the day that much more special. They were also incredibly gracious accommodating us when our kiddo got sick and had to reschedule the party at the last minute. Rare to see a business be so flexible and understanding. The process was extremely easy from picking up the cake samples to communication about what we wanted at our wedding. We had gotten one single layer heart shaped cake, as well as a dessert bar. I am so incredibly grateful for Old Towne Danville Bakery & Cafe for their wonderful and yummy cake! I was able to order online thru the instagram website and they called me to confirm and the price is even better! I got 8" on the bottom tier and 6" for the top tier and it came out to under $90! You can't beat that price especially for how delicious it was! (Got the vanilla buttercream for both tiers and it was a hit at my daughters birthday party) Since it was 2-tiers, it comes with a stand and if you return it to them you get a free pastry :) Thank you again and looking forward to ordering their cakes for more events in the future! Karen and her team are incredible! Old Town Danville Bakery is the place to go for your sweet treats. I recently got married and they were in charge of our wedding cake. My husband and I had stopped by here the first time to pick up our cake try-out box and it was everything - dare I say it was probably the best part of our wedding planning process. With all the combos of cake and filling flavors, it was actually tough for us to narrow down what we wanted our cake to be and we were happy we were actually able to get different flavors for different tiers! Karen had even called us when it was getting closer to our wedding date to confirm the guest count & suggested making it a 3-tier cake vs our original idea of 2 due to the party size. We were hesitant, but it ended up working out for the best because the cake was gorgeous and THEY DELIVERED. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how good the cake was and because we had different flavors, some guests even took it upon themselves to try all 3 flavors that we had! My only regret is that this bakery isn't closer to me so I can stop by from time to time, but I know if I'm ever in Danville again, this place is on the TO GO list! read more

We love their pecan bars and lemon bars. Since they are closed Sunday and Monday, the shop often doesn't have these until later in the week. I've learned to call first to be sure they are available. I've purchased bakery items to give as gifts and everyone has always raved about the items. Service is personable and very helpful. They make you feel appreciated. They can get busy, so you may have to wait, or leave a message and have them call you back. They have a nice outdoor area with a few tables where you can sit and enjoy your purchase. This is an independently owned business that is well worth supporting. read more

It has been too long since we reached out to Karen and her team to do a cake for us (since we moved out of the area). We first met Karen in 2019 when she did our wedding cake which was a hit. She has such cake expertise and had great attention to detail with the decorating. This remains the same today 7 years later when we asked her to create a piano theme cake for our child's 1st birthday. We also ordered a smash cake. They both turned out to look so elegant!! A long awaited review!! Chances are you're looking into a WW property and old Danville bakery is the vendor to pick for your big day. We initially met Karen at the extravaganza our venue had. Once we decided to move forward, Karen corresponded through phone and email and we got to try a few slices prior to picking our flavors through the cake tasting box. They were so great! I recommended bringing a few others so you can all try and make your selections! She answered all our questions, was SO friendly and helpful during the initial planning process. I can say with full confidence karen was on schedule and helped execute all the vibes we wanted on our day. I will note that the staff at our venue didn't serve cake to all our guests, so make sure to have that outlined to each place setting regardless if someone is in the chair or not. We ended up taking 2 out of 3 tiers of cake home which was not ideal. Again, nothing to do with Danville but worth noting to make sure your guests get to eat her delicious cake! We just celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary and Karen was just as sweet as she was when we met previously. First time in Danville and I just had to find a random bakery to go to! I was super happy to see all their different types of cookies and loaf cakes. I found it a little stuffy inside, but that didn't take away from how delicious the baked goods we got were. I ordered three white chocolate lemon cookies, three salted caramel pretzel cookies, and a brown butter peach loaf cake. My fiancé and I devoured these in a few days because of how delicious they were. However, they don't have prices inside the bakery so we had to ask the lady behind the counter for more information but she was so so kind and helpful. She also gave us a tip that we should ask for what's on the rack behind her the next time we go for a surprise. I'll be back the next time I'm in Danville to stock up on more baked goods. read more

The owner is super nice and doesn't rush your interaction. The shop is cute and quaint. She truly makes you feel like a valuable customer. I met with her in January to pick up a tasting box and I watched her greet customers by name, I saw her give an anniversary cake to a couple who was still giddy and grateful to see her a year later, and catch up with clients coming in to express how much of a hit her desserts were at an event. They wasted my time and now I won't have my cake in time. Their website has a faq specifically stating "we offer delivery services with a service charge." I finally reach them and a cheerful lady says "we don't deliver" even after I say their webpage says they deliver. I could have ordered from another place rather than spending a week trying to reach them during their limited hours. read more

Best bakery in the Bay Area hands down! Karen and her team made our wedding cake, best vendor at the whole wedding. Cake was 100% gluten free and super delicious. None of the guests knew it was gluten free unless told. Filling options were spectacular and we had a hard time choosing! Ultimately selected raspberry and cream cheese and we were very happy with the cake inside and out. There was plenty cake left and folks were more than happy to take it home. We'll be back every year for a treat to celebrate our anniversary (and more honestly). Please patron Old Towne Bakery you will not regret it. read more

Mobile has been under construction for a number of months, but Alex and his team have been open serving their customers! Been going here for years, Karen is incredibly sweet and knows exactly what you want or need. She executes every request perfectly. From cookies, cupcakes, to specialty cakes- it looks great and tastes amazing. Even when I fail to submit my request in timely, she is always willing to make accommodations. My aunt who lives in the east bay got us a blueberry lemon loaf cake here before and it was delicious. We come here when we visit my Grandma and they have really good baked items at reasonable prices. They also had day old pastries in November and we went there and we were able to get a bag for either $4 or $6, I forgot, but it was inexpensive and came with 4 pastries. The bear claws are good quality and they don't skimp on the filling like many other bakeries do. Support this local bakery! It's a must visit when in Danville. Today they had the softest gingerbread cookies. We got 2 cookies in a bag that was tied with a bow. If I had known about these sooner, I would have bought them for my coworkers as a holiday gift! read more

Old Towne Danville Bakery is my "go to" bakery. I am not from Danville but will drive the 30-40 minutes to them for their delicious desserts. Most recently I needed desserts for a Celebration of Life gathering in Petaluma. We were on a strict budget for food. Karen (owner) worked with me and my budget to ensure we had a great selection of sweet treats and nothing one would go without. She made mini cannoli's, butter spritz cookies, chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodle cookies, lemon bars & mini brownie bites. Let me say just how much our guests were raving about the variety and amazing taste of all the deserts. The mini cannoli's were gone in minutes! There were more than enough desserts to keep everyone on a sugar high all day! Ordered the Princess cake for my husband's birthday. I've never had a princess cake before so I don't have a comparison, but this one was delicious. It is a sweet cake, but even as someone who is not a fan of super sweet things this cake was yummy. Still tasted just as good the next day. Ordering it online was super easy. We used Danville bakery in April 2024 for our wedding. We got the dessert bar and a wedding cake. Everything went well and we loved all the desserts. We had our top layer of our cake for our 1 year anniversary celebration (technically 14 months later) and it was the best cake! We couldn't believe how moist the cake was after being in the freezer for over a year. We had family over and ate the entire cake. It did take some effort (several emails and voice mails). A couple of weeks before the wedding, I wanted to know where/when the flowers from the florist should get delivered so that she can put them on the cake. When I didn't hear back from Negar, I contacted my florist and she responded immediately that I don't need to worry. Negar delivers the cake to the venue, and the flowers are added there. Phew! So my only negative comment is that communications is not great, but persevere because the cake will be worth it! On the day of the wedding, seeing that beautiful cake on the table, it was just what we had imagined. We got great advice from Negar that we should order only enough cake for about 75% of your guests, and sure enough, that was plenty. Not only was the cake beautiful, but it tasted just as good. It was so moist, and you can really tastes the strawberry flavor in the filling. It was just as we remembered from the tasting. We had so many compliments on the cake. So don't give up if you can't reach Negar. She does everything herself, and is a totally sweet person to work with. The cake will be worth it.

The wonderful owner of Old Town Danville Bakery. With my wedding a year in the making, I developed wonderful relationships with Wedgewoods vendors.....and Karen is wonderful! The cake that I had chosen was going to be much larger for 100 people. I ended up doing a small intimate wedding in my backyard for 30 people. With the gorgeous cake I chose and only now 30 people I feared the 4 tiered cake I chose would now be 1 layer. Nope! Karen created the same cake, 3 tiers, just more compact. OMG......everyone raved about how much they loved the cake! I asked Karen to make the cake for 50 people because us girls would want plenty of left overs! LOL! I had enough to send some home with guests and plenty for us girls the next few days. Delicious along with how BEAUTIFUL it was!!! I also had put in an order for these cheese filled croissants that Karen makes for the morning when I picked up my cake. Ohhhh man! Try these croissants! Awesome! You'll have to call to find out what different cheeses you can order inside. She also makes them with ham and other things. Karen made our wedding cake (through Wedgewood weddings) . It was not only gorgeous but ~delicious~. I wasn't sure if I even wanted a wedding cake, because I've found that many cakes I've had are dry or lacking in flavor because the baker focused on the aesthetic and not the taste. This was NOT the case with Karen! Cake tasting was so fun at the bakery, and she made sure we got the exact cake we wanted. We even got to put our bride and groom pikachus as cake toppers! read more

Lilian created a beautiful and tasty cake for my birthday, she cared about what I wanted and put effort into making it perfect. Her signature Lemon Glazed Cake was also delicious and looked amazing! It did take some effort (several emails and voice mails). A couple of weeks before the wedding, I wanted to know where/when the flowers from the florist should get delivered so that she can put them on the cake. When I didn't hear back from Negar, I contacted my florist and she responded immediately that I don't need to worry. Negar delivers the cake to the venue, and the flowers are added there. Phew! So my only negative comment is that communications is not great, but persevere because the cake will be worth it! On the day of the wedding, seeing that beautiful cake on the table, it was just what we had imagined. We got great advice from Negar that we should order only enough cake for about 75% of your guests, and sure enough, that was plenty. Not only was the cake beautiful, but it tasted just as good. It was so moist, and you can really tastes the strawberry flavor in the filling. It was just as we remembered from the tasting. We had so many compliments on the cake. So don't give up if you can't reach Negar. She does everything herself, and is a totally sweet person to work with. The cake will be worth it.

Easy, convenient, portable and very yummy. Picking up cupcakes is the easiest thing to do. Show up at the shop, pick your cupcakes or pick up a ready-made box and go. Available in both regular size and mini cupcake sizes. They are a hit every time.
