I often end up staying through the afternoon because it is such a lovely place to spend time. Maison Benoît offers a top-quality experience, both for the food and for the feeling of being in a little corner of France.

I was a little bit disappointed as they did not seem to have a large quantity or variety of baked goods. They only sell focaccia bread on the weekends, they said. Some of the baked goods we ended up getting since we were already there were from the display I guess it seemed like on weekdays they don't tend to bake a large quantity. It makes sense to me, however a little bit disappointed as I figured going to the mothership would yield me a greater variety. But it sounds like if you want variety and freshness it's best to go on a weekend, or go to the farmers market where they're at. Service was quick and friendly. There was one bigger baking in the back, and one cashier. The place was pretty quiet as it was a weekday and no one else was there. But also appeared clean and bright and well air-conditioned on this hot day. I do not recommend going to this location on a weekday. I would be interested to come back on a weekend to see what it's like. Either way Walnut Creek farmers market is a must go if you want to check out their variety.

They were sweet but not too sweet and had a great chewy texture that held up well in their journey from SF to NYC. Overall, the customer service is prompt and the goodies are clearly made with care. I appreciate that shipping is available nationwide and that the delivery cost is incorporated into the menu price so it is easy to mentally calculate my total bill. Glancing at the menu, you can tell that After By Tori is pricier than your average bulk box of cookies at a grocery store, but you get the high quality that you pay for :-) They are open and receptive to feedback on their products and packaging as well. On social media, you are gifted with the additional treat of behind-the-scenes photos and videos as orders are being fulfilled and new recipes are being explored. There are cake artists and theres THE CAKE ARTIST. Miss Louise Bakes takes cake art to another level. I've seen her cakes for baby showers, birthday parties, weddings, and random occasions. They are beautiful! Very detailed, unique, fun to look at, and even more fun to eat. That is the consensus. The best part is that Miss Louise Bakes can literally do ANYTHING! Her cakes are spectacular! Had my special 30th Birthday ordered through Miss Louise Bakes with a special golf design...and it came out perfect to a tee! (no pun intended) .. Their detailing is elaborate and you can tell someone took their time to make them. Usually, I prefer my cakes on the sweeter side and after eating my golf cake, not only did I realized that it met my barometer of sweetness, but was also light and not too heavy like other richened cakes. Remarkable baker who truly works hard to satisfy your needs. She sent me several sample ideas for designs when I told her I wanted to make a cake for my godson's Baptism. She invited me to sample different cakes and frosting so I would know exactly how it would taste. Even when I went in for a tasting she had made mini designs on her cake samples. She truly is an artist when it comes to cakes. I'm already planning on having her make another cake for my next event. Honestly, I cant believe everything was edible! Cake was very moist. It did take some effort (several emails and voice mails). A couple of weeks before the wedding, I wanted to know where/when the flowers from the florist should get delivered so that she can put them on the cake. When I didn't hear back from Negar, I contacted my florist and she responded immediately that I don't need to worry. Negar delivers the cake to the venue, and the flowers are added there. Phew! So my only negative comment is that communications is not great, but persevere because the cake will be worth it! On the day of the wedding, seeing that beautiful cake on the table, it was just what we had imagined. We got great advice from Negar that we should order only enough cake for about 75% of your guests, and sure enough, that was plenty. Not only was the cake beautiful, but it tasted just as good. It was so moist, and you can really tastes the strawberry flavor in the filling. It was just as we remembered from the tasting. We had so many compliments on the cake. So don't give up if you can't reach Negar. She does everything herself, and is a totally sweet person to work with. The cake will be worth it.
