The cone was stale, like it had been sitting out for a couple of days, despite our visit before noon on the holiday. The ice cream was rich, but lacked flavor. Seating is limited. There is more space leading back to the rest rooms around the corner than to sit down inside. 1 star. Won't order again. Ordered a $27 6 inch ice cream cake. When I got it, I didn't inspect it in the store because I didn't think I'd need to. It was transported home carefully, only 7 minutes from store and was secured in a tote. When I got inside and took the lid off, the cake has large chunks missing out of the bottom edge of it. This wasn't from pieces separating from travel - they were just missing. Not the quality I'd expect for almost $30. My order was also for Thursday at 2, and they called and left a voicemail on Wednesday stating that they made it early "because they might be closed tomorrow" and it was ready for pickup 24 hours early. I don't have anywhere to store it (no freezer space for full cake) so hopefully it's cold enough outside for it to keep until I need it tomorrow. Edit - 3 stars for attempting to resolve a situation. Reached out to company to express my annoyance on the situation. Was given a $15.95 credit. Still not sure if I will order again. read more

The staff was friendly. The ice cream was flavorless. We couldn't tell the difference between the coffee ice cream and mint. The chocolate covered waffle bowl tasted like wax. The worst part - the entire place was FILTHY! The windows, tables, floors, plastic dividers, even th walls were covered in grime - I doubt this place has ever been cleaned. The service at this location is horrible. It is the second time I've been a customer at this location and received horrible service. We entered the store 10 min before closing and no one greeted us nor paid us attention until 9:30 PM. At 9:31 PM one employee looked at me and said we can mix anything for you. I told him we were here before closing and would like to get serviced. We asked for founders favorite and he proceeded to get my order and take my ice cream mix to the back. We ordered the cupcakes for my daughter's birthday and they were a huge disappointment. The ice cream is not great. The super tiny pieces of cake are a joke. The icing on the top was flavorless. I would not recommend getting these. They are expensive for such low quality. I think Cold Stone could definitely do better however I wouldn't purchase again to find out. read more

Since the ones in Lancaster closed about 10 years ago, I have had no way of getting this amazing Ice Cream at all. That was until about 4 years ago when I discovered that Colonial Park has a location. Why did I delay for so long to get ice cream here? A little bit of laziness and a little fear of the price, but no, the price hasn't really gone up. Anyways, I went in, ordered the Cheesecake Fantasy which was made with Cheesecake flavored Ice Cream, blueberries and strawberries. I ordered it in the Gotta Have It size as I love Cheesecake anything. It cost me less than $6 for the ice cream and I was so happy I could get this again! Why did the locations in Lancaster close? I've been to other locations that don't keep these things stocked. Not to mention, they have better customer service than others I've visited. Just went here on a Saturday night. Was served by a girl with curly hair. She did not make my ice cream properly and didn't offer a solution. Ice cream was melted when I got it in a cup. I asked her to put it in the freezer or something because I wasn't going to accept a melted cup of ice cream. When I got it back there was no lid on it and it looked like a lot of it fell off. Cup was not a proper serving. The candy inside was full bars and not crushed up. The other cup we got was made by another girl and it was perfectly good! This appears to be slightly smaller than the last location. There is no line formation area, instead it is a wide open space. During the summer, I can see how this may become chaotic. There are not many seats available and not well laid out. Some seats are cramped along the side of the employee area. Again, I do not feel the move was the best move. There needs to be more organization here. The toppings and ice-cream that are available are well stocked. The employees are very nice and pleasant. Saturday we decide to treat my 14 year old son to ice cream on his birthday. We had a few free coupons so we asked if we could use them all at one time and the girl at the counter said yes. It was only for a small sample cup which was OK with us because it was cold outside anyhow. Long story short, we were supposed to get a scoop of ice cream and an added 'mix-in'. The girl at the counter never mixed the toppings. She didn't even put the butter-finger topping on my sons ice cream, she handed him a small butter-finger bar (little square bite size bar). I thought the whole idea behind 'cold stone' was that you could get the ice cream mixed with other things on the 'cold stone' for a unique taste. My parents traveled 60 miles to spend the day with my son and they were not impressed whatsoever with Cold Stone Creamery because of the girls attitude toward us. Maybe she didn't put in the effort because our ice cream was free and didn't make her shop any money. In my opinion she should have been nicer to us than normal in hopes of return business. I've spoken to other folks about the poor attitude using the 'cold stone mixins' and they said they experienced a similar situation however their ice cream was not a free sample. Do I think I'll return again? Not in the near future. read more

My first complaint is the attitude of your one staff members. She spent the entire time I was there complaining. Mainly about how she "works every night" with a store full of customers...real professional. If you don't want to work, then quit your job. Easy as that! Second. The man in front of me had a buy 1 get one free coupon. He handed it to the miserable worker and she gave him the dirtiest look and asked "what is this??" ... Seriously? I recognized the coupon, it appeared to be from a school fundraiser book. Kind of funny I can tell what it is yet this "overworked" worker can't. Plus... Shouldn't you ask your coworker this and not rudely ask your paying customer!? I'm shocked the man didn't complain...but the store was packed and I'm sure he just wanted to get out at that point. My girls, however, were right on top of things and made a scrumptous peanut butter chocolate special, to which i scarffed down not once, but three times during my vacation in Harrisburg. They had everything on their menu available now, new equipment, new friendly staff which is trained now, good and fast . Nothing to complain any more ... good to see that something can change positively within a couple of month!!! Update Jan 14th: Decided to go there cause we haven't been to ColdStones forever. Unfortunately same experience then last year, associate with attitude. And of course the motto "we are out of" something. Group of four people in front of us and I just heard the associate saying " we are out of this"... "of we r out of this too..." It was our turn, I got what I wanted butt my wife's wish to get her caramel apple ice cream wasn't satisfied because (guess why???!!!) they where out of the filling!!! Absolut ridiculous ... Bottom line... good ice cream in case something is available , it definitely doesn't work during the summer time and during the winter time it's the same...satisfying if u r able to ignore the mood of the employee and not want to jump over the counter to yell at the associate for his/her attitude. read more

I've given 3 stars for: 1) the store ran out of brownies. The ice cream I ordered had brownies as ingredient. The girl behind the counter asked if she could substitute with chocolate cake. I had to agree,but the cake disintegrated during the mixing. I'd have preferred brownies. 2) half way through the ice cream, the table we sat on appeared a small cockroach. Not a visitor I'd expect in a food joint. 3) I was not offered a receipt. When I asked for it, I was told they could give a hand written on a plain paper! I'd like to give 4 stars for both the ice creams we tried. Both new on the menu. I don't see those on the website and I don't remember the names. One was vanilla base and the other had chocolate base. Mix ins were caramel, salted pretzels, almonds. This is the only Coldstone in this area, reason enough for them to try to do better. read more

I am Very appreciative of the solution she came up with to make up for the messed up order and the commitment she made to contact me. 1/20/17 I ordered over the phone a cake for my husbands 30th birthday party (a big deal right). I ordered a large cake with funny wording on it for his special day. Well, I picked it up on the way to the party, and they bring me out a small cake with a simple purple happy birthday on it. The current employee at the time said they were suppose to call and tell me the wording wouldn't fit. (That's why I ordered a large). It's not her fault, She didn't take my order, but I am very sad and offended that they ruined a very special thing for my husband. I should have not even paid for the cake and walked out empty handed but i didn't and I learned my lesson. I'll find somewhere else to order next time. read more

I have been going to this Cold Stone since they opened and now it is completely different. I was there 2 weekends ago and this store has definitely gone down. 1) The store was dirty,floors wasn't swept, tables was dirty and yes this was before 1 pm. 2) How can you offer Frappes and Milkshakes and then the machine is broken!!..really. 3)The workers never know what goes into anything. 4) Never a manager on duty or enough workers. The place is filthy, the staff is slow. The seating is terrible, at least the could put a few tables outside to sit in the summer. It has no atmosphere, you can't go and enjoy an ice cream with your family because there is literally hardly a place to sit. I really like this place. This is really the best ice cream place in Harrisburg. We get tons of choices to choose from. The staff is quite friendly and they sing songs when I tip them. Love this place. I go to this location 3-4 times a month. My kids love it too. Ice cream is a bit pricey but worth it since they have a variety of ice cream flavors and tons of mix ins to choose from. Staff are very friendly and greet me every time i go in. I noticed that the workers were NOT wearing gloves but continued to watch their cleaning practices before I ordered anything and nothing happened.
