If I want ice cream everyday on vacation, I WILL have ice cream everyday on vacation! Yes, Cold Stone is a chain, but it was in the same parking lot as McMenamins and we stopped by here after having dinner there. We got there about 40 minutes before closing and I was expecting them to turn us away, but they were very welcoming and kind when we walked in. Surprisingly, they had lots of ice cream flavors still available, with one of them being filled all the way up to the tub brim. I think the last time that I actually stepped into a Cold Stone was when I was a kid, at least 20 or so years ago. I was also surprised to see how clean and well kept the entire interior was. I ordered a birthday cake remix in a waffle cone and my boyfriend ordered a strawberry in a small cup. The birthday cake remix had cake batter ice cream, rainbow sprinkles, and chocolate cake chunks. My boyfriend's ice cream came with strawberry chunks. He was given a lid to cover it up to prevent it from melting all over the place, though it was like 55 degrees outside. The birthday cake remix was really good! Though I was full from dinner, I somehow made room in my stomach for this. My boyfriend had like half of his ice cream before putting it in the freezer to have the next day. If I ever came back to Cold Stone, I would definitely have the birthday cake remix again. After eating at the nearby fish and chips restaurant we wanted ice cream for dessert. Luckily Cold Stone was right there. We almost left without ice cream because of the long line; however, the staff was very efficient and got to us quickly. My wife ordered her normal mocha fudge. As I was about to order, I noticed a small sticker promoting a Halloween Special. I ordered the Trick or Treat Special made with Boo Batter Ice Cream. That required a trip to the freezer to get the ice cream. (Boo Batter is Cake Batter with dark food coloring.) My wife laughed at me the whole time that I ate the Trick or Treat mix because it dyed my tongue very dark green and I enjoyed every mouthful. It's ice cream right? No complaints. We haven't been to a Cold Stone in a long time. We stopped in at the Lincoln City location and had a treat. The store was clean and orderly. The two workers were friendly and efficient. I wasn't sure which size to get so I went with the middle size......I couldn't finish it. I chose their German Chocolate mix. Pecans, carmel, coconut, and brownie with chocolate ice cream. It's was very good but too much for me. We both got the medium and with tip we were out for $20. That's cheap in these days of getting fleeced at every turn. Anyway I'm still waiting to see how my lactose issue handles this ice cream situationGood times! read more

We were waiting in line for over an hour and I continuously saw employees going to the back being on their phone, talking to each other, and one employee started counting money in her wallet ! There was at least six -seven employees working. I had pulled to the front of the store and went inside and saw a packed store with only ONE employee working the ice cream bar. All the others were in the back. When I told the employee what happened and how long we had been waiting he said "that's how it is" I responded we have been waiting in line before everyone else and no one has even gave us an update on our order" and he asked me if I was in the drive through" I responded "yes" he then told me " I would have to get back in line and wait again" i responded "I already payed for my order" he said "that is just how it is and I will have to wait again" we waited till 9:48 and we ended up getting a refund because our order was still not ready and we got there at the drive through with three cars infringe of us at 8:20 !! I'm upset about the lack of customer service and the fact that the employees were not working instead they were gossiping and on their phones. I have personal worked in fast food before and understand that things get busy and last thing anyone wants is a "Karen" but when no one is working and employee wants to be ignorant and rude it's a whole different thing. read more

We went to the Cold Stone ice cream store drive -up in North Lincoln city this week and what a bad experience we had ! This place does NOT have a order terminal with a speaker to place your order in advance , so guess what , you have to wait until you get to the window to place your order which makes you wait and wait and wait ! Then , you get a person with an attitude and that person tells you " we are out of this and out of that " when we finally got our order it was $35.00 for 5 small cups of lousy over-priced and melted ice cream ! I came on July 22 at 7:50 pm and there was two men there I just came to have some dessert with my boyfriend and was having a great day but LEFT THAT RESTAURANT CRYING!! I just wanted some ice cream and he didn't understand what I wanted because I had asked for a certain cone and he gave me something I didn't want so I had told him that I was sorry that I had miscommunicated but he never said it's alright or that he was sorry, he just CHUCKED THE ICE CREAM IN THE TRASH SO HARD and I told him exactly what I wanted and he made it without saying anything else and just made it and moved onto the next person. We were really excited to have Coldstone on our spring break. We showed up about 17 minutes before closing. There was a line. My husband, nephew and niece were behind one group. My sister and niece's two friends followed the couple behind us. One more group followed that. We ordered our ice cream. It tasted great, but by the time my sister's order was placed, it was nearly 8:00. They received their ice cream and we began to eat. The servers then announced,"We are closed." She informed us that we needed to leave. We had just gotten our ice cream and it was about 8:04. My sister asked her if we could stay and finish the ice cream to which they said, "No." They kicked 12 of us out right when we'd all set down to eat. They said they needed to mop and clean up.
