Saturday Afternoon and Wifey and I had done a bit of shopping and had already had lunch, but I was in the mood for something sweet. As luck would have it, this Cold Stone location was quite handily on the way home. We haven't been to a Cold Stone in years. We generally like to eat a local places, but we were already in the parking lot. We tried to eat at this location several/many years ago but as we walked in we were told that they were closing early. Odd, because the door was wide open and all the signage was still on, but no matter. There were a few people in front of us, but the line wasn't unreasonably long. Wile looking at the menu I immediately decided on the Coffee Lovers Only, but there are So Many Options. I think I counted more than 20 flavors of ice cream, then over a dozen add-ins...then different kinds of cones and bowls. I'm sure someone with better math skills than me could figure out how many possible combinations there are, but I wasn't interested in that, just in getting my ice cream. The gentleman behind the counter took our orders (he was the only person working) and went about Cold Stoning it. Maybe it's just my memory, but it seems that this phase used to be more involved and they used to take more time to make sure all your ingredients well blended. What I was rather taken back by was the price. My wife and I both got Like It sizes (ok, Small or in regular ice cream shop parlance, a single scoop). They were $7.29 EACH. When did ice cream become a premium food? I also noticed that the Like It size was significantly smaller than it used to be. #ThingsCustomersNotice About ten minutes after we sat down another employee showed up and started helping behind the counter. In total we spent about 30 minutes inside and at no point did anyone come out to check the trash or the public facing area. Our ice cream was tasty and accurate. The store was clean and tidy when we walked in. We sat and ate our bowls and chatted with the other party that was in line before us. I used to love coming here for ice cream, but lately anytime we stop by there is a long line. Another thing to mention would be the high price for ice cream. I just don't think the high price is worth it anymore. We paid $6 for a small with 1 mix-in and no cone. For that price we could get ice cream from Kroger that would taste better. read more

It was crazy busy when we went. The two workers widdled down the line in a very timely manner. The ice cream was good. Service was slow and lady working wasn't super friendly. It was pretty busy for a mid day visit. First thing, my kids all wanted waffle cones. They did have any waffle cones or waffles bowls. My daughter ordered the cotton candy Ice cream and she said it was the worst she ever had. The tables were not cleaned off and had dried ice cream left all over them. I would first like to thank the young ladies who were working extremely hard behind the counter. This business needs help. We there last Sunday night for almost 30 minutes, with a line of guests. Why did it take so long? Because the two and only employees said they were instructed to make Door Dash orders first. So paying customers are standing there waiting, while other people's orders who aren't there, are being made. Unacceptable!!! Also the traffic light to get out of the parking lot is a nightmare! I suggest contacting the city. One traffic light is shared but two separate shopping centers, rarely changes and has no turn arrow. I will not be back for this reason alone. I wanted to get ice cream with my sister and we came to this cold stone location. it was not busy they were helping a guest. But they did not greet us at all and there were 4 workers behind the counter and none of them acknowledged us for about five minutes. Anyways we asked for a small scoop in a REGULAR WAFFLE CONE. They ask 3 more times which CONE and we say no thanks to the more expensive chocolate dipped one... then they still put it in a waffle bowl which is much smaller than the cone. They skimped on it which I definitely needed for this spring break bod.. but it still cost almost $9 each and not what I paid for. I love Ice cream and this place nails it every time! You may have to wait a bit, but its worth it! The line was long as usual, but it was much longer behind us ! I bet it was like a 30 minute wait to get that fabulous ice cream! We waited about 20 or so minutes. My concern, and maybe I am getting older, the employees that were working seemed awful young. I noticed they were there alone. I also noticed when I made my way to the cash register I couldnt help but to notice a pile of money laying on a table behind them in the next room. I took a picture to show you that money was sitting out for everyone to see. This is a dangerous thing in todays time. People will rob a place for a little bit of money. The employees working would not know what to do if something bad were to happen. My wife told the workers to hide the money or at least cover it up so people wont see it. Other than that, those employees were very nice! I was very surprised at just how nice and hard working those employees were! We been seeing the TikTok videos and got inspired to order a cake for a party. I was able to order the cake a week on the website. Super easy to make a custom cake with option they have. Setting the time and date and pick up location was a breeze. So drive the to the hurstbourne location took longer than I expected on the pick up day, so I was a bit late. But they didn't see worried when I got there. I was able to walk in, say hello, told them I did an online order and my name and BAM! My cake is ready to go and I just walked out. I prepaid online the day I ordered my cake. I brought a cooler with me so the cake wouldn't melt before I got to Elizabethtown. The cake was a hit! It was exactly what we ordered! I heard they had vegan ice cream so I popped in to see how it would taste. When I stopped in, they only had chocolate ice cream available and vegan form. It was good. You could taste the chocolate. The place is a little expensive, but not out of range compared to other chain ice cream businesses. This location is small and the line can get long fairly quickly, especially if people are still trying to maintain social distance. After hitting the nearby pizza joint and a quick visit to the bookstore, my family stopped by for ice cream. Our first time. At Cold Stone you can make your own ice cream or you can choose a combination they have already created that tastes delicious together. We kept it simple and chose our ice cream with one topping. My son got a kid's cup with the confetti ice cream and sprinkles on top. I opted for the french vanilla with cookie dough and my husband selected the peanut butter ice cream with chocolate chips. No complaints from my son although he's a big ice cream lover in general. My husband wasn't thrilled with his and thought the peanut butter ice cream was a bit strange and not what he expected. Plus he realized that choosing a topping with chocolate wasn't very flavorful because the chill of the ice cream only makes it very hard. I thought mine was okay. It was a great scoop of cookie dough bits and those were delicious. However I would steer away from the french vanilla ice cream next time. It almost had a butter flavor and once that thought was in my head it wasn't nearly as good to eat. Also, fair warning that the consistency of the ice cream is fairly soft. Texture wise that's different than the ice cream that I tend to love. If you have someone in the crowd that isn't a huge fan of ice cream like we do, they also offer caramel apples with several different toppings. Prices will range from 5 to $8 each. We also spotted caramels, dipped marshmallows with toppings, pecan clusters, and a couple of other delicious-looking chocolate options. I think I have been to Cold Stone Creamery two times in my entire life. It's just not the first place I think of when I want something sweet. We came to this location recently since my boyfriend had a gift card, and enjoyed the treats that we got. What I really like about Cold Stone Creamery is that it is more than just a scoop of ice cream; there are all kinds of combinations, toppings (one added in is free btw) It looks like they are partnered with another company also, that serves candy apples, bakery items, etc. The ice cream is pretty good, plus they have a lot of flavors that you don't typically see. The two girls behind the counter were so rude and disrespectful not to mention greasy and gross you definitely won't have an appetite for ice cream by the time you wait 45 mins. I placed a custom order for a birthday cake 2 weeks before I need it. 4 hours before I was scheduled to pick up my cake I received a call saying that the cake maker was not working & I was not going to be able to pick up my cake. This store charged me for my cake & refused to refund my money. After contacting the manager/store owner several times with no response I had to get my credit card company involved to get my refund. We were there at the time it opened at noon so I can't comment on cleanliness throughout the day however it was a cute and clean ice cream/treat shop. Upon entering it smelled of freshly baked waffle cones nommmmm! There are cases of other goodies so if you aren't in the mood for ice cream (how's that possible?) you could try various other room temp sweets. My partner and I got the Like It size each which was more than enough for us. This place is incredibly slow and poorly run organization. The entire operation is left to one or two high school kids to handle the volume of customers and online orders. There is never an adult present around or anybody that looks some form of a manager or owner. The workers look not interested and don't want to be there every single time. We have been twice to this location and both experiences were extremely poor. The employees had terrible customer service. They didn't wipe down the prep service between ice creams, weren't wearing gloves, made an ice cream put it aside and then said they lost it (another Employee gave it to another customer), and filled one cup only halfway and gave it to us. We asked why it wasn't filled and they said "we ran out of that flavor". Didn't bother to say they ran out or offer a new flavor just gave us a half filled cup. I'm convinced Cold Stone has the best ice cream in town as far as quality is concerned. It's made fresh in the store, from what I understand. It doesn't come from prepackaged pints. If you want a pint, they scoop it out for you and package it up. "Scooping" is done with metal spatulas which is pretty incredible to watch. They cut and fold the mixings in which can be anything from Oreos to gummy bears. They also sell ice cream cakes and cupcakes and a selection of house made chocolates -- which appears to be a new offering. I personally love their coffee ice cream but the best ice cream they have by far (in my opinion) is the banana ice cream. It doesn't taste like fake banana flavoring; this stuff tastes like real banana and it's absolutely fabulous. My favorite mix? Banana and Oreo. Get it in a milkshake and you'll have the best milkshake you've ever tasted, I guarantee. read more
