Life has changed. Life is different. I miss my favorite spots in Nulu. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to do something to support my favorite businesses, especially the ones in Nulu. Enter collaborations with some of my favorite businesses in the area. The one that caught my eye was a joint venture with Revelry, Nouvelle, and Sweets by Millie. Their special for this pandemic was a Wino & Dino gift set. You get a special bottle of wine from Nouvelle, a Dino succulent from Revelry, and 6 cupcakes from Sweets by Millie. This is my favorite thing from the pandemic right now. The sparkling bottle of rose from Nouvelle was elegant and beautiful. The dinosaur succulent is fun, whimsical and will continue to remind me of this sense of solace for as long as I can keep the plant alive. Finally, the cupcakes. Oh my goodness. These were out of this world amazing. 2 vanilla, 2 strawberry and 2 chocolate. If you want absolute perfection, these cupcakes are it. Thank you to Nouvelle, Revelry, and Sweets by Millie for making this time a little sweeter and being willing to collaborate. Being from out of town, I love to use local bakeries to bring sweet treats to my clients. Sweets by Millies came up and I decided to order some Valentine's Day cookies for my customers (and for me!!). Ordering was a little difficult via the online ordering system. My order wouldn't go through and I had to enter a shipping address even though the place is pick up only. I ended up trying to call to place the order, but it went to voicemail and the voicemail said she preferred to be contacted by email. I ended up emailing her and getting a response right away. This was a little offsetting but I was really excited about the design and thought of handing these cookies out. Pick up was easy after parking on the street. I was greeted immediately and my cookies were waiting for my arrival. I had previously picked up Valentine's Day goodie bags because I planned to split them up between customers and was pleasantly surprised that they were individually wrapped. (Side note: cookies are not available for individual sale, it must be ordered in advance.) Overall, the decoration on the cookies was extraordinary but it all comes down to taste. These were good sugar cookies but nothing I would go out of my way to get again. I'm a fan of Panera's lemon shortbread cookies and in my opinion, those are better than Sweets by Millie. read more

This place makes some unreal cakes. I was lucky enough to have one of her beautiful cakes at my wedding shower. Not only was the cake a literal work of art, it was absolutely delicious. The bottom was strawberry (real strawberry) with key lime cream cheese icing, and the top tier was funfetti with buttercream. This was the second cake our family had ordered from Sweets by Millie and both were amazing. I will absolutely order from her in the future and encourage you to do the same if you want a stunning and unique cake that also tastes amazing. She also has cookies available, which I haven't tried but looked super cute in someone else's order at the bakery. Do not pass up her flavored cream cheese icings, you will regret it. read more

I have ordered cookies for numerous events from this spot, and I have sent friends and colleagues to this shop for cake and cookie needs. Husband surprised me with a cake of my bestselling book, for my book launch! It was shaped like the book and the cover looked identical. I have never seen a cooler cake in my life. This lady really knows her cakes! I first tried her baked goods at a Yelp event and really enjoyed them. My boyfriend sneaked her card when I wasn't watching and started what had to be the most elaborate birthday cake plan ever. The cake went perfectly with my party's National Sundae Day theme. It was absolutely beautiful and every bit of it was edible. At first I was concerned about all the fondant on the cake... until I found out the fondant was actually buttercream! Her edges on the buttercream were so smooth and rounded, they looked like fondant. Even the little ice cream cones around the side of the cake were full of silky, rich buttercream. The cake itself is great too. The banana cake is all-natural and tastes like banana bread in cake form. The chocolate was super chocolaty and moist. While I don't know how much the cake cost, my boyfriend said it was very reasonable, especially considering it included delivery. I definitely suggest you hire this chica to make you delicious baked goods! read more

Overall I would recommend SBM. I got a cake made a few months back and it was beautiful! The details were really nice and worth the money. On the flip side this cake did not taste good. It was dry and was not a hit at the party. Their cupcakes and cookies look delicious and beautiful. I will go that route next time. read more

I can't even begin to describe the wonderful cake Sweets by Millie made for my friend's son's birthday. My friend wanted a Spider-Man themed cake and Maggie was able to create one just the way my friend described on the phone and over emails, complete with a starry sky and skyline. And the flavors in the cake were amazing. We'd asked for alternate layers of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry with both butter cream and cream cheese icing and it was heavenly! The butter cream icing is the bomb! The cupcakes and custom cookies were amazing too. It was a breeze to order and pick up. Everyone at the party loved the cake and were inquiring about its origin. Everything I have seen from Sweets by Millie is beautiful and creative. I have sampled some of their goodies at various tastings throughout the city. The store is close to my home and I have to admit I was a little disappointed that the cases are empty. You cannot walk in and buy their products. Sweets by Millie is an order ahead bakery. I understand their point. They probably cannot stock their custom products. The shop was busy when I visited. I saw one of the most beautiful, work-of-art cakes I have ever seen in my life being picked up when I was in the store. It would be great if they had even a limited selection of product available for neighbors and people who work nearby. I would definitely place a custom order for a special occasion but would love to sample more items on a regular basis. read more
