Love a locally owned ice cream parlor. Lots of cone options to choose from. Wide variety of ice cream choices. There is something for everyone here. We got a cake cone, a scoop in a cup, and a milkshake! All were awesome. Tried a variety of different ice creams as well. Anyone with small kids know, you get to try them all whether you were planning to share or not. On both entrances of the store they have outdoor furniture, which is perfect for enjoying ice cream on a warm summer day. Service is to be expected with summer high school workers. They do their best, but have some grace as they can sometimes get overwhelmed. Strong recommendation for a before or even after dinner snack! Grab an outdoor couch and take a time out to enjoy some ice cream!

While I don't have as much of a sweet tooth as I used to, I will always make certain to make time for some ice cream when the opportunity presents itself and on this evening that very thing happened. While I'm not all that familiar with the Westpoint Village area of Louisville, I just so happened to be in the area while dropping my wife off at a massage place down the road and after dropping her off that is when The Comfy Cow came into view. As I am one that loves and truly enjoys every bit of flavor that a scoop of ice cream can provide, I decided to stop by and see just what The Comfy Cow has to offer. Upon entering, I notice quite a lot of tables to choose from as well as a small bartop with barstools which has a chalk wall in front of it with a greeting as well as letting patrons know to wear a mask as well as letting you know that due to the pandemic, they are not able to provide samples at this time (as of this review at least). As I made my way past ths section I saw the main ordering area which, to my surprise, only displayed pies and also some hand held treats, but I came here for ice cream. As I gazed upon the rather adequate menu of ice cream pies, half-baked sundaes, and flavors, one thing that was rather disappointing was that although The Comfy Cow does have quite the showcase of different flavors with names that really stick out and capture that southern feel such as " Simply Southern" or "Chatty Cathy" the lack of any sort of description as to what these flavors entail as well as not being able to actually see all of these flavors in front of me was a bit, strange for an ice cream shop. I decided to trust the employee and asked what flavor they recommended and I was told that the "Bourbon Ball" is by far the most popular menu item. Well, being as that I just so happen to love and appreciate the taste of bourbon and I do happen to be in the bourbon capital of the US, I decided to do as the Romans do and take the employees recommendation. When it comes to scoops you can either choose from a regular, large or a kiddie so I decided to go with a regular and you can also choose to have a waffle cone, waffle bowl, either of those dipped and even a dipped sugar cone and if you just want to simply enjoy the ice cream you can also just eat from a cup. I went with the waffle bowl and the Bourbon Ball ice cream immediately gave me that smooth bourbon flavor mixed in with a bourbon ball candy that was very decadent and not too rich at all. The ice cream is creamy but not as creamy as I would expect. However, the ice cream was indeed very tasty and I can now know why it is their most popular. The Comfy Cow is a great place for some delicious ice cream with a lot of sweets to choose from. I will say that it might be hard to decide if it is your first time since you won't know exactly what the components of some of the flavors are until you ask at the counter which may cause long wait times if there is a line. Even so The Comfy Cow is indeed a rather relaxing place to enjoy some delicious southern ice cream.

LOVEEEEEE ITTTTTT!! Save my every cheating day!! I highly recommend ice cream pies rather than ice cream ~

One of the best parts of this Comfy Cow is its location inside Westport Village. It can be a part of such a fun night out. You go grab dinner at a Westport Village restaurant. You perhaps do some shopping. And then you get ice cream at Comfy Cow. That sounds like an amazing day or night to me. And once you get there, you'll find a small shop with seating inside and out and a bevy of delicious ice cream flavors. I tried a spoonful of the Chocolate PB Cup first. Mixing chocolate with peanut butter -- always an amazing combo. But in the end, I went with Polar Bear Freeze, white chocolate ice cream with Oreos and chocolate chips. A portion of proceeds goes to the Louisville Zoo -- another plus. This ice cream was as sweet as you'd imagine. If you like chocolate and cookies and cream ice creams, you'll like this flavor. Overall, though, it seems like Comfy Cow ice cream doesn't have as much cream as other ice cream, like Graeter's. But it's still delicious. And Comfy Cow just makes it so much fun. All of their locations have lots to look at and enjoy. Be sure to take everything in here.

Local ice cream.. yum!! 2 small scoops came to $6 and change. They have many seasonal flavors.. so in October they had a "trick or treat" ice cream and "pumpkin nut" ice cream. I loved the pumpkin nut, it had crunchy hazelnuts and streams of toffee through out. I tried the cookie dough ice cream which had heaping chunks of cookie dough through out. Very friendly service. Lots of indoor seating. They also serve pies, sundaes, milkshakes, and ice cream cookie sandwiches.

Yum yum yum. The smell when you first walk in is phenomenal followed by the delicious ice cream, win win. I ordered the flight, for a little under $5 you can try THREE ice creams! It's a great deal and a fabulous way to try multiple flavors (especially if you're indecisive like me). I went with the praline pecan, bourbon, and vegan cookie crunch. The clear standout was the bourbon, it's rare that you find a bourbon ice cream that actually tastes like bourbon. I could eat a whole pint happily. The vegan cookie crunch was the runner up, did not taste like a vegan ice cream, had tons of flavor and was super smooth. There were lots of chunks of cookie which made it even better, would get again. Bringing up the "rear" was the still fabulous praline pecan, chunks of pecan, smooth, creamy, and delicious. I really enjoyed all three flavors and am excited to go back and try the next three!

Massive and delicious icecream pies. I highly recommend. I can't ever finish it in one sitting but all the more reason to get it, right?

There isn't a big menu visible and the girl behind the counter wasn't helpful at all. We realized there was a small paper menu available. I got a hot fudge sundae. The fudge was not hot and there was caramel on it (not requested by me). It costs $9 and was pretty small. You can definitely tell the ice cream is home made, but not in a good way unfortunately. This place is super cute so I hope they get better employees and step up their ice cream game.

Those definitely brought back some happy childhood memories. The inside definitely looked like an old school bakery/ice cream shop. They have baked goods and milkshakes. As I'm browsing, the cake slices are probably bigger than my head, and there were of course other options. I got a red velvet cupcake that was bigger than your average cupcake. I forget how much I paid but pricing was reasonable for the size. I sat at one of the tables and ate the whole thing. I typically can't eat all of something so sweet but, somehow managed to eat that. The cupcake was fluffy and the right kind of soft. Not over baked or under baked. Service was decent. Employee behind the counter just basically took my order and didn't make any recommendations or anything, other than that no complaints. Will I come back here? Absolutely. When? Not sure, if you have a sweet tooth and you're at Haucks, The Post, or any other places nearby, definitely come here!!!
