I stopped in here randomly on a trip to Marco Island. I needed to fix my hankering for something sweet. Why not Cold Stone? I walked in- no one was there. Not even an employee. Weird. But I waited. I waited a bit more and then finally someone came out to wait on me. Now, this kid had to be no more than 16. I'm giving him credit because honestly he looked 12. But what I will say is this kid busted his butt in making sure we got what we wanted. He was very nice; constantly thanking us and saying, "you're welcome". In an overall drab location, he definitely was a highlight. While there may be some child labor law issues going on here, I definitely would go back solely to have this kid wait on me. This place was over crowded and lines out the door. 2-3 workers. We stood in line for over 30 min OUTSIDE. The line never moved. They were serving the online orders only. The servers were beyond rude when Ppl asked what's the wait and why no one was helping the customers in line and the kid with EARBUDS in his ears gave an attitude and told him he had to wait. We were served by an incredibly surely teenager and our choices were met with a combination of derision and why bother: my wife had two scoops (one of two different types) and I had two scoops of chocolate. We just went to the location in Marco Island. There was nobody in the shop, so we can't blame the inadequacy on being overwhelmed. We ordered the cookie mintster. As we began to eat it, we noticed that nothing was mixed in( as this is the signature appeal, it was disappointing) and it was the wrong ice cream all together. I went back to tell them and ask them to remake it and make sure that the ingredients were mixed. The girl that made the ice cream said ," no, I didn't make it wrong, with a bit of a nasty tone. Sure, it's cool that you can mix in different toppings and whatnot, but for the price, meh. The Esplanade (where its located) is a nice area on the water so thats a bonus. I can see why this Coldstone has poor reviews. When I got there the door was locked at 1215 pm. I ordered a cake and it was wrong. I reported it to the owner (who at first said the owner was not there) and she argued with me about the cake. I asked if she had notes on my order? No- they threw them out. She yelled at me and insulted me. Owner was out of control and has no customer service skills at all. None. Plus she lied when she said owner wasn't there and it turned she then said she was owner! Blaming your mistake or error on the customer does not solve anything. It makes things worse. Nothing was resolved and I am pending corporate call back regarding this. Saddened that I even have to go out of my way and right this but something needs to be said. I was very patient with my family and waited over 20 minutes to be served ( I am aware they are understaffed and gave them the benefit of the doubt during these challenging times.) After waiting for a long period of time, we were not served until five minutes past their closing time, given there was still a line behind us. Because of this, we were treated extremely poorly and a shorter lady said "what else do you want" with an attitude towards my family. It was not just her but all of the employees acted like the customers were a nuisance being there when in reality we are supporting their business and paychecks. When my friend and I used to work at an ice cream shop, we would serve our customers with a smile even past closing and no matter the circumstance, the customer is always right and should be the business top priority. When I thought it couldn't get any worse, the workers started serving the customers behind us before they even finished our order. The worker serving my family asked us to move down with an attitude disrespectfully and acted as if this was the last place she wanted to be. All of the employees need a big wake up call since there were two serving and two more in the back that might of been trying to close when they still had a line to serve. ridiculous!
