Let me start off by saying I love their bagels. Usually a decent selection and I come here every time I'm in town. They have bottomless coffee which is cool (until you ask for a refill or top-off and are met with attitude from the staff). The only issue I have with this place is their staff, specifically, the larger gal who seems to be the manager. She usually appears to be under the influence of some drugs. One day she forgot to get/make ice and had to go on an "ice run". She was seen vaping who knows what behind the counter in plain view of the customers on multiple occasions. First time on Marco Island, and we were looking for donuts. More importantly, we were looking for donuts that didn't include a 15 mile or more drive to Naples. That's not really an option here in Marco, and when we spotted a bagel place, we decided we would go for it! The shop is in a little strip center, and does have some table seating, but not a lot. Staff were super friendly, and there were lots of different choices, including some that you don't normally see in a bagel store, like rye, and black Russian. (pumpernickel with sesame seeds). We got a half dozen, and I was looking for cream cheese. They do have your typical size cream cheese containers, but they also have a smaller version which was nice because it was the perfect size for just me and a couple bagels. They normally sell a variety of coffees, but the coffee maker was broken so all they could offer that day was your typical drip or iced coffee. We took our bagels to go, and enjoyed them at home. I will say that we did enjoy them - my boyfriend said the blueberry bagel was filled with actual blueberries, (which you don't often find) so he was thrilled. However, if you were looking for a real, New York style bagel- you know, the kind that are boiled, these aren't that. They were good for what they were, but I was looking for that more rubbery, tough exterior, which they don't have. But all in all, we did enjoy them, and I will give them kudos for that! read more

Looking for a breakfast spot, we arrived at a place called Empire Bagel Factory. The selection of different bagel sandwiches was pretty good, but which to choose from? Steak and Egg With Sesame Seed Bagel for the kids, Bacon Egg and Cheese on an Everything Bagel for my wife, and a Lox Deluxe on an Asiago Bagel for me. Everyone loved their sandwiches! The bagel sandwiches were great! The customer service was terrible and I'm shocked the woman at the counter is allowed to work with people. We placed an online order and came in to pick it up and the woman was so rude stating she did not have that order. After going in the back and screaming at the employee who missed our order so everyone could hear, came out to say they only had two bagels that we ordered to pick new ones. It lacked flavor and did not have that chew or texture you expect from a good quality bagel. The egg was flavorless, rubbery and the cheese is not very good either . I have been ordering from the shop since they arrived on Marco. The bagels are fantastic, they are always two people short from it operating like you would expect. My option is limit, the drinks and extras to a minimum as the two person operation cannot handle the volume or accuracy. If I order as a pickup it is a mystery if it is correct and if I order at the counter it is equally a mystery. Today was a counter order with them first apologizing for the wait, then watched multiple people returning saying their order was not correct. We got our order with another apology for the wait. I did get the mystery order as mine was supposed to be everything with sausage ,egg and cheese. It was close, bacon egg and cheese on everything, the other 4 bagels with butter or cream cheese were correct. I believe the staff try's and are just overwhelmed. read more

If you're staying at a resort on Marco Island (or a local), and you want a delicious bagel sandwich, then head to this location. I ordered a bacon delight on a wheat everything bagel (a nice option). After a few minutes, the sandwich came out and it was toasted, and when you bit into it, there was no fighting the bagel. This is great for a sandwich! The bacon was crispy, the tomatoes and onions were fresh, and the cream cheese held everything together. They have other sandwiches and such, and a small dining area. I walked in about 10 minutes before closing and everything was prepared nicely. I felt I had to rush though as they were "tearing down" the counter. I didn't realize they closed at 1p as the map had the wrong hours. No late lunch here! read more

After you've lived in New Jersey and New York City most of your life, bagels have a certain quality that is really hard to find out side of the tri-state area. But Empire Bagel Factory has awesome bagels...including salt bagels, which are my favorite. And for us Jersey girls, they also have pork roll (aka Taylor ham in my world) so they can make the perfect egg, pork roll and cheese breakfast sandwich. The new location is in a small plaza, so parking can get tight during busy hours and definitely in season. And while they do have four tables inside and two smaller tables outside, it's very difficult to get one of them. read more
