I have been visiting this location multiple times this month and never was asked to produce a receipt marked paid. I realize times are extremely hard with the rising prices. This behavior is not acceptable nor becoming in this community. I order and pay from Starbucks every morning in the app. Not at one time have an employee stood there to ask for a receipt or order number. At Michaels you order and pay online. Arrive to the store pick up your paid merchandise with no hassle. However at Cold Stone on Miramar Parkway the male employee demanded the receipt and order number. I guess ordering and paying online defeats the logic behind the convenience. The employee refused me a refund by showing me the order was ready with my name, order number and PAID. If all if you are of COLOR do not visit this location. Putting aside how the manner in which they prepare your order with dirty rages and dipping the ice cream scoops in hot water is actually contaminating your order. This Cold Stone was recently sold. I was told by someone working there that the new owners are no longer providing gloves to employees and warn them not to use too much water cleaning things because the water bill is too high. Everything is sticky and gross and roaches apparently are having a party there. The normally happy young people working there also had the hourly pay cut 3 bucks an hour by the new owners and are no longer allowed to keep tips we give them. They go into a pool that is shared by all the employees to make up for the 3 dollar an hour paycut. In my humble opinion as a former Manager for a large company, I would not buy anything from people that abuse young people financially like that. There is one in Weston that is much cleaner and treats the kids better. They will get my dollars instead of these guys. Again this is a personal opinion based upon what was observed and communicated to me. For the money they charge for ice cream they can afford to supply gloves for cleanliness and let the employees use water as needed to clean the place better. Yesterday was the ultimate cheat day! I indulged in one of my favorite treats, Oreo Cookies icecream. I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had Cold Stone Creamery. My daughter and I were on our way back from an appointment and feeling a bit annoyed with the people we deal with, we wanted some comfort food. Icecream is a comfort food, yes? All you foodie's would know what I'm talking about. When we walked in we were greeted by the two young men on duty who made us feel welcomed. I ordered the Oreo Overload I'm a cup waffle cone. After seeing the size of my daughter's 'love it' strawberry blonde in a waffle cone, I ordered the 'like it' size which is equivalent to a small. They also offer a 'gotta have it' size which is the largest size. Cute names for such a delicious, mouthwatering treat. My waffle cone took about five minutes to prepare which wasn't long at all. This Cold Stone is very clean and well maintained. It is immaculate! I do feel like they have less flavors compared to other Cold Stones. I like how fresh the brownie was that I added to my sundae. It really topped off the sundae nicely. The whipped cream is some of the best I've ever had. And I have had a lot! LOL I recommend this Cold Stone to anyone who wants a sweet treat during a hectic week or weekend. Also, it took me a few minutes to find this store because their sign is in white lettering and I believe other Cold Stones are in red lettering. First let me start by explaining that the person who forced me to make this a 3 stars review was actually pleasant in the beginning. The store closes at 10 PM, it was 9:58 pm when a customer ( or should I say would-be customer ) came in holding her cell phone up with the time showing 9:58 PM,..you could tell she was desperate for ice cream. (I've been there) ... Alexis the employee told the customer that they were closed. There were maybe seven more people waiting to be served. The girl held up her phone and said "no it's 9:58 PM" but the employee said "yeah but we're closed." At that point the customer had already approached the register asking for the employees name which is how I obtained Alexia's name. I chimed in by saying the customer was already inside the store and that the door sign states the shop closes at 10 PM and that the customer should be waited on. Someone on the line said "yeah but they're already backed up" ..frankly I don't think that's neither here nor there. The door was not locked therefore the shop was NOT closed. I totally appreciate the job that these young adults do but at the end of the day it's the reputation of the franchise these worker are supposed to protect. It would have taken 5 more minutes to make one more ice cream cone or cup. I guess my point is that customer service needs to be followed through, the employees need to be retrained the good old fashion way which is remembering that the customer is always right ..unless of course your life is in danger. I cannot count how many birthday cakes I have bought over the years for my little sister and dad who are both obsessed. As a fellow American, I found it necessary to eat ice cream on the 3rd Sunday in July and to "Cold Stone" aka Cold Stone Creamery I went. Cold Stone Creamery, a franchised and popular chain of ice cream shops which I frequent when I am actually craving ice cream (which is rare). What sets this location apart from the rest is the friendly staff and management. I do have to knock off a star for this particular location because finding this place is a total mission. I circled around the area multiple times before even finding the place while almost giving up all together actually. There is a huge grand palm tree blocking the signage in the shopping center and then to top it off, the exterior address is being blocked by a concrete pillar when driving by at a drivers eye level from the parking lot. Luckily, the shopping center addresses were in a logical numeric order, so eventually, I finally found the place. After finding this location, I immediately noticed how small and drab the inside of this location is. There is not enough seating and the interior space plan is just cramped. Nonetheless, I need to order my ice cream and celebrate this month in true patriotic fashion. I was almost tempted to try something new because they actually let you SAMPLE WITHOUT A GUILT TRIP (which I love), but then I was quickly reminded as to why I go to Cold Stone over the other ice cream shops, for Cold Stone Creamery's signature "Banana" ice cream with a "mix in" of an actual fresh fruit banana. I like to say that my favorite ice cream is "banana, b-a-n-a-n-a-s"! If you haven't had it, it's delicious! I have been loving this combo for years! It's like a banana milkshake intensified!! Cold Stone's ice cream texture has the perfect balance of ice and cream, almost like a very smooth gelato consistency, and there isn't any artificial flavoring taste which I love. Some people complain that Cold Stone is a bit "pricy" for ice cream, but I am a firm believer that what you pay for is what you get, and Cold Stone does not skimp on quality in comparison to its competitors. SO YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY...Cold Stone has a plan, and it does not involve taking your beloved nuts away... I've always loved how cold stone mixes your ice cream on marble slab, but now that we are in a full blown "allergy era" (::cough cough:: Starbucks that did away with Almond milk), I was wondering how a large American franchise like Cold Stone was going to combat this new "allergic rage" since a vast majority of people love nuts in their ice cream. Well "nuts" are here to stay in Cold Stone land. If you have an allergy, they will still make you something delicious and fresh and allergen free. I actually have a severe coffee allergy and after learning that there is actual coffee in the coffee ice cream, they insisted on remaking my ice cream in a special container to prevent possibly contamination (talk about customer service!!!). I was truly blown away by their reaction. The employees at this location are wonderful, but the franchisee of this location needs to step it up to have the physical components of this store match the excellent employee quality this location has. The girls that are in charge I personally trained and not to toot my own horn but I did a damn good job in preparing these young ladies. I've been going to Cold Stone since I can remember. The ice cream is amazing and the way it is prepared is fascinating. I get the same thing every time: Coffee flavor with rainbow sprinkles and kit Kat. I try to branch off and try new things, but I just love that mix. The birthday cake mix is one my boyfriend gets and is also delicious. The lines are usually long after 8 pm, but they go by quickly. I also like that you can take the ice creams to go. The variety of sizes are great and you can also buy a tub of your mix to take home. They're a bit pricey, but for the effort the workers put in to making the ice cream, it's definitely worth it. read more
