I went to the store located in Rosemont, IL around 8:15 PM. The store was fairly busy, but by the time we got to order it had died down. I ordered a small shake & a medium ice cream. The first girl who assured me was a red/orange head that looked like she didn't know what shake I was talking about as I directly pointed to the photo displayed which was the P&B Chocolate Cookie Duo. 2 minutes later she asked me again what shake did I want and proceeded to tell her the same shake and pointing to the photo displayed which again. As she was making our shake another girl approached me, don't remember her name but started with an M, asking if we needed anything else and told her I wanted a medium Oreo pretzel perfection. After she made my ice cream I thought she would help check us out instead put my ice cream in the freezer as we waited for our shake to be done being made. We waited around I kid you not 15 minutes to be helped checked out. All of their workers decided to help on the line making ice cream or hid in the back or helped delivery drivers instead of being on the register. Once we got our shake another worker helped, Yuly, and asked if the shake was the only thing we had and I stated we also had a medium ice cream. We paid, took our shake, and started assisting the next party behind us instead of giving me my ice cream so I waited an additional 5 minutes. No apologies were said from any of the workers as if the only thing they cared about was making the orders getting rid of the line but how are you going to get rid of a line if no one is literally on register checking guests out? There are a team of 6-8 of your girls and you're telling me to run a smooth rush is all of you helping on the line?? Waiting to be checked out for 15 minutes is totally unacceptable. I hope they realize that this is not how this situation should be handled. I work at fast food myself and when I have a team I make sure someone is available at each station. I came specifically for the plant based Silk almondmilk ice cream and it did not disappoint. I got their signature order which came with the Silk chocolate almond milk ice cream, bananas, peanut butter, and almonds. I swapped Oreos in place of almonds and truly enjoyed every bite! I love cold stone but this place has horrible management. There's 2 supervisors that are on their cell phone constantly. They look angry and annoyed, even that I'm wanting to order. Cold Stone is very good! I normally dont have a sweet tooth for ice cream, but when I do, their Apple a la Cold Stone signature creation is so good! My boyfriend loves the Peanut Butter Cup one and the Cake Batter Batter Batter signature creation. I love getting my ice cream in a cup just because it doesnt melt all over me, but when I'm really feeling a sweet tooth, I'll get the waffle cone cup! Delicious. I've never had a problem with the service here, and there are normally young adults working here, but all seem to be very nice and helpful. This place is pretty expensive, especially for someone who doesn't really care for ice cream, but the prices are pretty worth it because they add many different toppings into it. For a Like It sig. creation in a waffle cup and a Love It in a waffle cone, our total was $14. Again, not bad, but not the cheapest either. I've had the cupcakes from here which are amazing because they are frozen chocolate molten cups with cake and ice cream inside topped off with icing. I AM A FAT LACTOSE INTOLERANT WALRUS. Does this stop me from doing exactly what my stomach hates me to do? HELL NO! Bloat and diarrhea discomfort is worth the ice cream! Body problems aside. Being a walrus it is difficult for me to get around easily. Luckily with modern technology I am able to get what these youngings call "delivery". I did that exactly. My walrus breath is rancid so i always go with a mint milkshake. My walrus son got a cheese cake icecream milkshake. I requested some special demands: absolutely no mushrooms (honestly you can NEVER assume your food will not come mushroom free. Walruses dont eat that shit.) I also decided maybe ill be a spontaneous walrus B and ask them to really make my walrus son's milkshake cool. I asked them to fill it to the top and stuff because this kidrus is walsome! And they did. And i am happy. I wish they sent me 4 straws because being a walrus it is difficult to take straw paper off and i always crack them at the bottom which makes suckling the straw difficult especially with my enlarged walrus jowls. We came in for a weeknight treat. The places was busy, but the well staffed crew did a great job of handling questions, choices, and quality ice cream! The service size was huge (though we did order "Gotta' have it!", and the price was reasonable. I'm still eating mine 3 days later, just a little at a time, and savoring the rich chocolate and raspberry flavors. I had a problem, self created, and the staff did a great job of treating me like a valued customer! Nice place for an ice cream stop. Seating space is roomier here unlike a couple of other more crowded Cold Stone's we have been in. They took our 2-for-1 coupon with no issues and we had a couple of Love It sized servings at $4.39 each normally. The dark chocolate-strawberry combo I had was delectable but the sweet cream-mango combo was too similar in taste per the wife. It was interesting to watch the steady stream of customers that came in here over 15 minutes or so, like clockwork. One order would get wrapped up, and another pair or foursome would walk in, like it was regulated outside or somethun'. They do good business at this location. read more

I ordered a cake for my sons birthday. The ice cream he chose was classic cookie dough ice cream with m&m. He eats some of the cake and figured maybe I didn't get a piece with cookie dough. Well that was because it didn't have any. Apparently the classic cookie dough ice cream is just a powder flavoring not actual cookie dough pieces which make no sense at all. This is the perfect place to stop while you're running errands on a hot summer day. Recently, I stocked up on cleaning supplies at Target, had the calluses ground off my feet at Lee Nails, and was about to drive over to Home Depot when I realized that it felt like Death Valley and there was no way I was getting back in my scorched car yet. Luckily, right by the Target is Cold Stone. The sorbet here is really good. Some places give you a watery Italian ice or use "sherbert" and "sorbet" interchangeably. This is bad news if you a) like delicious things or b) are lactose intolerant. Cold Stone knows what sorbet is, what it should taste like, and how it should be priced (the same as ice cream, not more just because you can put it on a low-fat menu). There's also a great selection of mix-ins to choose from, whether you ultimately select ice cream, sorbet, or a stack of dipped waffle cones. There are only two drawbacks here. One is that it gets a little crowded, and the staff isn't always that on top of cleaning tables, so it can be hard to move around and hard to find a clean spot to sit if you want to eat on the premises. The other is that like most ice cream shops, it is primarily staffed by teenagers who are sometimes more interested in chatting with each other than in paying attention to whether there is somebody waiting during a slow spell. Most of the time, the service here is fine--I get served right away, my order is processed expediently, and there aren't any problems. Every so often, though, there's a really egregious incident that just makes me want to pull out my hair. Bottom line: come here if you like sorbet, high-quality mix-ins, or need some refreshment while running errands. (On a side note, I'd like to add that reviewers from Tennessee, where up to 20% of residents are illiterate, shouldn't take shots at people who live around O'Hare. One of my neighbors has donated art to the Art Institute of Chicago, another is an organic chemist, and another is an attorney with a PhD. I stopped in here today because i felt like something sweet. Ive been to other shops in this franchise. This one is no different than the others. When you go inside this location is really clean and has tons of oictures of their product around. I placed my order. I decided to get the mint mint chocolate chocolate chip in a plain waffle cone. Basically mint icecream smashed together with a brownie and topped with fudge. The girl at the counter was very friendly. Surprisingly though, i was the only customer there, it was completely empty (it usually makes me nervous when a shop is empty). What else can i say, the icecream was smooth and sweet, and the brownie was chocolaty and chunky. The only real complaint i have is with their prices. My cone today was just under $7. There are many other icecream joints in this area that serve equivilant product (in some cases better) at much cheaper prices. The two stars is because all staff where same disposable gloves through multiple transactions as well as rearranging things, scratching etc etc etc . That is disgusting and defeats the purpose of wearing gloves at all. I hope they don't think they are saving money doing this . In my honest opinion there is no ice cream on earth that comes anywhere close to my fave Coldstone creation (cake batter ice cream with cookie dough). I always get the Love it size which lasts me about 3 days. Its not cheap though and thats the only downfall of Coldstone. If this review were solely on the ice cream I would find a way to give it six stars. However at this particular location there always seems to be a line waiting but only one employee........this has been the case on multiple occasions. I love coldstone and the nearest location to me is Evanston IL, and the service is so bad there I hate going here. So after school since I was close to highway I ended up making that 30 mins drive to Rosemont location. The staff is super friendly and welcomed me promptly and with such warmth I felt very welcomed. The location hours are 12-10pm for weekdays and I entered at 12:05 pm and they were all ready to go unless like the Evanston location (read my review to know about Evanston location). The lady talked to me very nicely gave me a full cup of ice cream (I always get 3/4 cup only). She also gave me a discount when she found out I came from far. I would rather drive 30-40 mins extra than go to the 14 mins away location. read more

Nothing wrong with the ice cream, but beware - they do not honor the Entertainment Coupon for 1 free with similar purchase. We called up first, ordered 6 items, mentioned we had 3 buy 1 get 1 free coupons and the girl said it was fine. we go there to pick up our ice cream and pay and find out they don't in fact honor these as it's written on the coupon. They only give 1.00 off per coupon. The bill should have been about 17.00, but instead was like 31.00. We talked to the owner afterwards and she didn't seem to care about us or backing up the coupon that the other franchises have always backed. She probably just wants to get the free publicity without paying for it. She's losing all of my business ! read more

Generally I love Cold Stone ice cream. I ordered a cake for my daughters birthday- expensive. When I picked up the cake the order was incorrect and the writing small. The owner of the store did not apologize for the mistake instead stated that she had never had a complaint on a birthday cake before. Would an apology for my unhappiness have been that hard. Imagine my shock when the same woman called me the next day "to make amends" still stating she has never had a complaint before. Let me first say Cold Stone Creamery is my absolute, hands down, FAVORITE ICE CREAM!!!! But this location SUCKS!!!! Big Time! I wasn't going to write a bad review but every time I think about this I want to throw up. My husband and I had been to this location a couple of times without any problems until I called on the telephone to order two quarts of one of their mixes. The person on the phone tried to talk me out of it and into waiting until I got there to order my ice cream of which I didn't want to do since I don't live close and I wanted it ready when I arrived so I could pick it up and go. This should have been my first indication that something may not be right... The first quart was great, I think. But upon opening and starting to eat the second quart, I found a hair in it. Yuck #1. Then further down (yuck #2) I found yet another hair about 6 to 7 inches long... that did it! I will NEVER go back to this place. I want to throw up just thinking about this. And, I do know that the women that work there have long hair and don't wear hair nets. Shame on them!!!! The ice cream is expensive and I expected more from them than this!!!! They need more oversight in that shop! I am appalled because this is a health issue! read more
