There is a reason most of these locations are no longer around. We were there 2 days ago and for 1 scoop of ice cream and a few toppings the total came to $8 which I already thought was a bit much. Then today we went back and ordered the same exact order that was $8 2 days ago and they wanted to charge us $11. It's a problem being an ice cream snob. Especially when you haven't had any good product in months and are craving it more due to mild December temps on the east coast. We could have gone to a Mom n Pop shop but opted for CSC due to proximity. I haven't been at one in years and was not expecting to be blown away, but thought I would enjoy it way more than I did. Others must have had the same hankering because this place was jamming at 8:30 pm on a Friday night. We looked longingly at the case while waiting for our turn to order. The deep dark color of their dark chocolate caught my eye, as did the salted caramel. This combo usually does not fail to satisfy me with its contrasting flavor profiles. But on first taste I almost succumbed to a diabetic seizure. Both flavors were sweetened to the point of distracting from the treat. I couldn't enjoy the chocolate that may have been rich and deep, or even taste caramel amongst all the sucrose. I left somewhat disappointed but with the knowledge that all ice cream is not created equal. I know the chain won't be saddened by my experience, I imagine many folks like their offerings. My husband and I went there this past weekend (the last weekend in April), trying to support a local business. We had to wait for 40 min for the ice cream---which is ok, it was a Sat. night; however, the app wasn't working and neither was the website so we couldn't place the order. We had to call twice to place a phone order--I tried calling but the female answering the phone did not want to take the order, was clearly frustrated/irritated, and suggested I place it online (which couldn't be done). This was my first time at a cold stone and I was really excited. My husband was trying to cheer me up as my father is in the hospital. We drive from 45 minutes away. The first thing that hits me when we get in the store is the smell. It smells like "ice cream and ass" as my husband so tastefully put it. It smelled like almost soured milk. The bathroom smelled even worse. I asked for a small cup with a scoop of vanilla lite, a scoop of strawberry, and a scoop of banana. The teenager at the counter looked at me like he was lost with a glaze over his eyes that made me wonder if I was speaking English. And then he repeated my order back to me, so he said he would help me up at the counter and walked away from me as I had my credit card out. He then handed me a cup filled with liquid that used to be ice cream with pieces of strawberries and bananas that were struggling to stay afloat at the top. It immediately started to leak over the sides all over my hand. There was a slew of people that were also waiting. One teenager sneezed as he was making an order and didn't cover his mouth, spraying his germs everywhere, which the rest of his coworkers apparently thought was hilarious. One girl was rubbing her temples, her face red, looking like she was about to cry as she rang up another customer. We finally got out of there, seemingly just in time as the smell in the shop had started to worsen somehow. She was rolling her eyes, couldn't remember our order, etc. she was too hyper focused on the fact that I was on the phone which I put down as she was taking our order. Once it came to check out she gave me a nasty attitude while rolling her eyes and asking me to sign the receipt. I looked at her confused since she didn't even swipe my card yet. Ice cream was great, service was not...Unsure why employees can have 6 inch nails while scooping peoples ice cream and are wearing no gloves. When the girl working was mixing my ingredients into my ice cream she held it up to another worker and said something along the lines of "this smells like starbucks smell it" and brought my ice cream into the coworkers face for her to smell. Was quite weird to see, and honestly I didn't want my ice cream anymore after that. Also a worker asked if I was being served, which I wasn't, my sister had placed her order but not me, so my sister said yes and I said I didn't order yet and the young guy responded oh they'll get your order then. Cold stone always has good ice cream. That is not disputable. But the problem with my recent visit was the service. Also, I just feel like there are SO many people working, which is great. But everyone is young (love that this business employees young people) and it is evident that they haven't been trained in customer service. If I make a request, or say something, and the worker can't hear me, the proper response isn't "what?!". That is rude and dismissive. There is NOTHING wrong with coming closer and saying "excuse me?" Or "Pardon me I didn't quite hear you." I can't be convinced that these young people DONT KNOW that this is basic manners so I can only assume that using "what?!" As a response is just a general disregard and blatant rudeness for the customer. That's not okay. Finally, this is not a huge issue but if there are 7 people working with no line, there's no reason why the counters, tables, and even hand sanitizer container should not be clean. Wiping things down takes 30 seconds. If attention isn't paid to detail on something as easy to clean as a hand sanitizer bottle, I'd be concerned about what else isn't being cleaned properly. With that being said, I have to point out again that the ice cream is good, and we love that this location employs so many young people. But...... the experience isn't always positive unfortunately. If you visit this location do yourself a favor and park in the back lot. The Starbucks next door always has a line 8 miles long preventing cold stone customers from getting in and out.... read more

A great choice if you have a hankering for something sweet, but if you want to know the real reason this place deserves 5 stars, the answer is the staff, specifically a single staff member named Jenny. Jenny provided above average customer service on my visit, making sure my ice cream was made right, asking me if it came out alright, even giving some generously sized Reese's cups in my peanut butter ice cream, all while doing it with a warm smile. Jenny deserves the best that establishment has to offer, dare I say she should even manage it in hopes that the entire staff can perform as optimally as she did. Jenny is someone you don't see often in the serving world, someone who not only provides the top notch customer service an establishment can provide, but one who does it with such a light of distinguishable courtesy, charm and grace that you can't help but love both the product handed to you and the experience you had while in the establishment. We were craving coldstone when were driving home from the shore, so after looking on my gps this was the closest one along our route. It was a Sunday night and super crowded here, lots of families eating ice cream outside. There was a line to order but it moved fast. I got the sweet cream ice cream with graham cracker mixed in. It was delicious. Their ice cream is consistently good no matter the coldstone location.They also have a lot of good signature flavors with preselected toppings. The ice cream is thick and creamy and toppings are mixed in over a "cold stone". I don't know how some people can call it overrated and overpriced. The prices seem to be in line with your typical ice cream place. And, I've never had ice cream like it. I will always stop at coldstone if there's one in the area. Four yelps! read more

The first time I went to Cold Stone it was in Florida and I will say it's a pretty constant creamery. When I arrived at this one the line was out the door, 1 hour prior to there closing time of 10pm on Saturdays. Now if you are looking for old fashion ice cream you will not find it here. They have a unique type of that Italian Cream you are familiar with, but there spin is they mix fresh fruit, cookies, or pretty much anything you want in with it on a cold stone in front of you (hence the name). I had a Apple pie with real apples, graham crackers cinnamon, and French Vanilla ice cream this trip. Not bad, but I like the strawberry shortcake the best. Treat yourself it's worth it. read more

We go to Cold Stone at least once a week. My 5 year old daughter loves it. The staff is very friendly and the line moves pretty quickly. The only complaint is that once it gets busy (which it always usually is as soon as the weather warms up), there's a mass of people kind of standing around after the orders are placed. It gets congested. It would be nice if there were people to make your ice cream and then separate people to ring you up. I think people would get out of te door faster if the jobs were separated. Amazing customer service to walk one through specializing the most amazing ice cream cake ever. This has been the best decorated birthday cake for my son that I have purchased in the last 6 years. All of the guests raved about the cake and loved that there were actual cake layers between the ice cream layers. Chocolate cake with birthday cake ice cream, Oreo and Reece's peanut butter cup mix ins topped by a Lego super hero design that I didn't need to bring in myself. I wish I was able to give this place a 0. The service was absolutely horrible. We came to order at curbside pick up. About 10 minutes went by and we realized that the sign said to call when you are there. We called and the girl that answered asked if we were going to go inside. We responded that we were at curbside pickup and would expect it to be brought to us - to avoid the crowd inside. After another 10 minutes we call the number again. They say that they will be bringing it out. They bring it out and we ask if the icecream is melted, they responded that it was in the freezer. We open the icecream and they are all melted. One order seemed to be melted then tried to be refrozen. Upon another 10 minutes we receive the new order. Another icecream was completely melted. The orders seemed to have not been changed and they had just given us back the originals. Another one of us went back into the store and told them they needed a new icecream.
