I feel cheated and robbed from cold Stone creamery by the store manager, Anna. The first week of January 2026 I went to discuss and possibly order a cake for a birthday on Jan 31. I wanted an image put on top of the cake. There was no way to tell how this image would look on the cake because the store isn't equipped with the kind of technology that can drop and drag a photo so that you can see what it would look like on the square cake. I was very apprehensive Anna Constantly told me to trust her trust her trust her. I kept telling her that I need for her to understand what I want, it seemed to me that she was yessing me to death. And I kind of felt rushed and pressured into placing the order. And reluctantly, I did place the order but 24 hours later I changed my mind and I realized that she had no clue as to what I wanted. I didn't feel confident that she was going to make the cake the way that I wanted it and I know that I'm in my timeframe to cancel since there was three weeks to go before I needed the cake. Upon arriving to the store to cancel the cake, I was taken by surprise by Anna and her other colleagues that they did not know how to process a refund you would think you simply hand your debit card over and they reverse the transaction, but this was much too complicated for anyone inside of cold Stone creamery to even comprehend how it was done. My refund of $111.14 had to go to the corporate office, I asked Anna to give me a receipt, some sort of trust and faith that we mutually understood one another that my $111.14 refund was indeed coming back to me. She offered me no receipt she offered me no confidence whatsoever Ave other than her word alone that I will be getting a refund she told me to trust her. So 3 weeks later today is January 23, 2026. I still have not received my refund. When I called the store any one of the employees tell me that they are not educated or understand understand the refund process. So therefore I'm still waiting for my refund of $111.14 which I believe I am never going to receive. I feel cheated. I feel robbed. I will never trust this ice cream shop ever again. I am very disappointed in this whole entire process. I have never experienced something like this before and I think other people should also be warned when you shop in cold Stone creamery. They may or may not understand what you want and when you decide, you don't want the product because you don't feel confident that they could actually make what you want I think they get insulted and they try to give you a hard time to prevent you from taking your money back. I am going to fight with these people every single day until I get my money back. read more

WARNING: Stay away from this place. Food: it's okay, not great. Service: Terribly unprofessional. I waited 10 minutes for a service worker to talk to me as I stood at the pickup area for my app order promised 10 minutes earlier. I sat down for a minute, stood back up and waited some more, and not one of the three fake-alpha Gen-Z workers dared to even look at me in the eye as they serviced other customers that had walked in after me. Despite a very long line, the employees kept the line moving. However, I guess in attempt to move quicker the worker who helped me was not the friendliest (to put in nicely). Once I got my ice cream I sat down and realized I needed napkins, and despite waiting for the worker to finish with his current customer I again received a bit of an attitude. The ice cream was really good, and the place was clean, which is what is most important to me. But it being busy isn't as excuse to be rude. read more

Not coming back here. First time, I ordered the 48oz tub and the unsmiling employee didn't even fill it to the top. Didn't worry about. Gave them a nice tip anyway. Its the pandemic. Trying to be supportive. Next time I come in, no gloves on the employee....wow.... And again tub not filled to the top. The other Coldstone that use to be on the Northshore, packed it over the top. This was my first time at this ice cream parlor in Statenisland and shame on me. The icecream was absolutely delightful. What have I been waiting for. Well when u r watching your weight ice cream is not at the top of your list. The place was clean and the customer service was good. The workers were attentive and took my friend and I right away. It's so cool to watch them make any type of mixture of icecream you request. They put it on a cold granite stone table and mix away. I ordered an oreo overload which consisted of chocolate chips, oreo pieces and chocolate fudge and my friend ordered banana and butter pecan icecream mixed. This time I wanted to order a PJ mask theme cAke, but they didn't have as much options in the catalogue at the store as the last time. Good ice cream with bad service. Lines can be very long on busy days. Sometimes this is due to not having enough staff. In any case, customer service was not friendly during my visit. Staff allowed someone buying a cake to cut in front of me in line even though I was just buying a single ice cream scoop. With the time taken to add a message on the cake, I ended up waiting 3-4 minutes for the person who was allowed to cut me in line whereas my order literally took a minute to make. This is place is named for its technique of mashing ice cream so to speak. There are a variety of flavors and toppings that you can choose from. The staff takes your desired amount of ice cream (small, medium, large) and puts it on a "cold stone" and then adds the toppings and then mixes & blends everything together. The prices range depending if you want a "cold stone creation" or your own creation & on what size you want. This business is being run horribly. 1. This joint is a sacrilege to ice cream. Ice cream is supposed to make people happy. I loooove ice cream and if it paid enough, I would like nothing more than to serve ice cream to people. But, this Cold Stone location sucks the joy out of ice cream. 2. The owners are clearly trying to keep every single margin for themselves. Back before the reward system was based on phone numbers, the store required you to have your BOGO coupons printed. Now, the phone number based system is broken. It isn't hard to figure out that you hate giving away some ice cream for free. If this is the case, be smarter about it and just put a sign up at the front door saying that you don't accept coupons so that folks don't walk in at all. ;) This will also save you from making your employees vulnerable to pissing customers off. Some people really don't like being told no and will spew hateful, ignorant things at kids who are probably being treated like that by their bosses also. 3. The employees are miserable. How horribly are you treating them that they can't even fake a smile for customers? I would bet that these kids aren't being given any breaks during their shifts. Someone should call the labor department. I hope all of the employees quit together without notice. I bet the management team would have a new appreciation for their employees then. read more

I love cold stone and the ice cream is so good I mean hey it's cold stone. Reading the other reviews I agree; the guys behind the desk don't seem happy to be there. The guy that helped me was nice I'll give him that. But as i was waiting another guy was helping a family. This one girl ordered a ice cream and he asked if she wanted anything in it and she said no. After, she said she wanted something in it. He seemed VERY annoyed. I can understand why he was annoyed, but come on it's work people are annoying. Then he was helping the sister or whoever and she just wanted a scoop of ice cream, and he asked anything in it and she said no. Then he turns around and goes are you sure you don't want anything in it? I started laughing because wow he has the nerve ! Didn't crack one smile. Just wanted to share. I ordered a shake first and he just brushed me off and asked my boyfriend what he wanted.. just assuming I didn't have more things to order for other people. I don't like that. I get it if you have your own strategy to completing an order but ask me if there is anything else before you tell me you would make a shake last and move on to the next person. Rude. I used to like this place a lot better years ago. On two of my recent visits, I had unpleasant experiences. They got our order all wrong and the place is not kept tidy at all. Th tables are scratched and dirty & the bathroom is kept untidy as well. The signature flavors are good, but make sure you are clear about what you order. I was given the wrong size and the wrong flavor as well. The workers do not pay attention and it can get very chaotic. I think i'll avoid this place for a while. read more

I don't have any other Cold Stone Creamery locales to compare it too but I am a fan. Their prices are up there but the ice cream is very rich and well worth a treat once in a while. I have gone in and even when the line is out the door it never too long of await. I prefer Carvel ice cream cakes to their cakes but if you are just going in for a scoop the Cold Stone brand is much better and a few more dollars too but worth it. read more

We spent $64 on a special order birthday cake for my daughter. The cake was supposed to be chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream. So after we sang "happy birthday", with a house filled with family, we cut the cake only to discover it was yellow cake with pistachio,not chocolate. The cake was cut and served to family regardless. The next day we called Cold Stone on Richmond ave. to inform them of their mistake. Im an ex-employee and I felt the need to address a lot of issues or concerns that are present here as I occassionally also get ice cream here anyway. The jobs relatively crummy, the owner Ann and her sister(and partner Louie) basically hover over you as you work while they're in the store. We do not have breaks despite work hours generally being 6-7 hours entitling us to breaks. They expect you to do 3-4 things at the same time to get the most out of your wages. Theres always a line at night because we can only work so fast while some customers want 3-4 things. They do tend to try to squeeze out as much profit as possible mostly because ice cream itself is more of a seasonal thing and we employees do not enjoy charging people 75-80 cents per extra topping. I agree that we should be wearing gloves and when i worked there I made the habit to wear gloves but if you use gloves excessively while the boss or her sister is in the store they do tell you to stop using them because they're "expensive". And keep in mind this job is 99% manual labor, if it seems that the employees give off the vibe that you're an inconvenience, I apologize but the job is grueling. They're most likely tired, even I've been guilty of it. And if the price goes up or it feels very expensive, the bosses make it go up like 10 or 15 cents a year to keep up with the wage increase.
