I haven't been to a circus since I was 8. This one comes to town once a year for 2 days 2 shows a day. The seat prices were $19, $22 and $25 and they had free kids and $5 off coupons all over town. I suggest getting the mid price tickets because some of the action is blocked at times. They had a lion show, Trapeze artists, and a bunch of other stuff. For the price I think it was a great family time. Ever since my wife read water for elephants she has been dying to go to the circus and she really enjoyed it. Bottled water $3, Popcorn, cotton candy, and fried dough $5. During the 20-30 minute intermission they had elephant, and camel rides as well as live horse carousel, not sure of the price. We saw the one in Mobile, AL. It was entertaining at times for my husband and I, but not worth what we paid. My 5 year old and 2 year old enjoyed it. Felt bad for all the animals they had - they were obviously unhappy and treated rough. read more

This circus is an embarrassment to the town I live in, so disappointed at the condition in which these animals are kept. They are hit and guarded because they are exotic animals who can and have been a danger to the public. People are crazy to still go to the circus these days. Water for elephants, really ? Your wife actually wanted to go to the circus after seeing that movie? I must have seen a different version. It's dangerous to the public, cruel to the animals and a poor excuse for showmanship... Why bother? Take the money for the tickets and send it to WFF. I'm no activist just a concerned tax paying marshfield resident who wishes their town would wake up and rid the circus from its abundant schedule of our beautiful fairgrounds. read more

I attended the show in Lakewood nj. This circus USE TO BE amazing. I have gone year after year, today's show was a disappointment! The tiger lady act was the generic tigers on stand , come down line up roll over (get hit two-three times for not listening) go back to pedestal. Then one tiger comes down and the rest jump over. Tigers are sent back to cages where they pace and one is left behind to sit on a rotating disco ball pedestal.yay! Did I mention 2 tigers went after each other and she had to hit them to stop! (No I don't belong to any "animal rights group." She was in a bad mood today when she walked off away from the ring her eyes were rolling she seemed annoyed. Then came clowns after EACH act. They have 4 clowns. Another lack of an act is a little girl who is about 5/6 years old. She comes out w a clown "to play".. They come out with beach balls and throw it to one another a few times, until finally a BABY elephant comes out and it is trained to put a nerf ball in a basket and kick beach balls into the audience a few times. (All this while mommy elephant is used to stand by the entrance so she can see her baby at all times. She is NOT used in the act) . Who can forget the house dogs act.. They run up a ramp and jump over and land on a no more than 3 inches in width mat. That was so entertaining!( I'm kidding ).. There is a "Colombian" team who plays a song that is so muffled you can't make it out.(it's in Spanish anyway so unless you know it wouldn't make a difference).. The act was generic people walking across a wire with one person on their shoulders. There is also an act one man who does a bunch of hand stands. I can go on w the acts but I'm sure you get it. This circus use to have THREE rings going at one time with performers in each. You couldn't figure out where to look cause it was just so amazing!.. Today they have TWO rings and only one act happening at a time. Seems like they don't have enough performers. The ones they have are doing more than one performance. Costumes are very cheap looking. I remember circus performers would take pride in their appearance this is not the case here. Light up wands are very expensive $15.00!... The "ring master" wow! Was NOT narrative at all. Would introduce acts and that was it. Creepy when he would say, "are you having fun boys and girls.".. Which you didn't see him cause he only came out to talk to a clown during an act. If you are going to spend money to take your kids to a circus spend the couple of extra dollars and go to ringling brothers circus. (No i don't work for them either).. This cole brother circus has a list of complaints and violations that can all be found on the Internet. (Had I only known sooner. ) The owner must know this circus is terrible when he has a person sitting in booth that has clip boards for "customer surveys"! I have NEVER seen that. What a beautiful sight, to see a real honest to gosh circus big top. The circus begins with the American flag and tigers presented in a very artistic manner by a young lady who dances amongst the tigers who obviously adore their "mom". On to traditional acts such as the flying trapeze and an aerial "ballet" that had a dozen or more aloft in a wide variety of acts including a lady over the center ring hanging by her hair! Variety and balancing acts (also aloft) abound. The elephants got the biggest ovation and they are right there closer to you than you can get anywhere else. What wonderful ambassadors for their dwindling wild cousins. Makes you appreciate them and realize what a treasure they are here on earth. Educational, as well as entertaining, the Cole Bros. Circus elephants all got baths this morning with many people looking on. It happens every day here. The vet check ups and inspections are done more frequently than are my own (human) doctor and dental checkups! Wish I had their health care plan! During intermission you can ride an elephant by the way. On to the clowns and the whirling motorcycles in the steel globe which seems impossible. On to the concluding human cannonball! Have you ever seen a man shot from a cannon? The lady sitting next to me thought it MUST be an illusion, but upon seeing it for the very first time declared: "OHMYGAWD that is for REAL"! She made my day. Cole Bros. is a fine circus, reasonably priced, and for the two hours of the show, you're a kid again. I highly reccomend it. read more

I wish that I would have Googled Cole Brothers Circus before I decided to take my niece. That way I would have seen all the numerous offenses of Animal Abuse. Please don't make the mistake that I did. The Cole Brothers Circus is HORRIBLE. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY & TIME TAKING YOUR FAMILY TO ONE OF THEIR SHOWS. If you would like to take your kids to see some animals, please do yourself a favor & take them to a Zoo. I wish that I did. My niece was so upset by the animal abuse witnessed that she cried the whole way home & was sad until we put her to bed that night. It upsets me to think that something I had intended to be fun turned out to upset my niece so much. That is why I chose to write this review. In addition to the abuse, the staff was rude. Maybe they are so used to being abusive to animals that they forget how to act with humans. The shows are so corny & boring that I had to keep reminding my niece to watch. She will sit down & watch Horton Hears a Who, for example, from start to finish, by the way. The last thing is the pricing. EVERYTHING was wayyyy too overpriced. Please keep in mind that this is coming from a Disney Annual Pass holder...& Disney isn't cheap. The cheap, Chinese/Taiwanese, bought-in-bulk toys are priced even higher than I have seen at Disney! At least I'm getting the atmosphere & experience at Disney. What is Cole Brothers reason? To price gouge? At least the Disney toys are of better quality. I watched 4 different families go back for exchanges because the light-up toys kept failing. While my experience has been a terrible one, I am hoping that you will heed my warnings and take your child someplace else when you are looking for entertainment. OMG worst circus I have ever been to. I took my 3 year old son and they were horrible. The workers were sooooo rude and the animals looks so sad and unkept my son had nightmares after the circus and kept asking why the animals were so sad and why the clowns looked so scary and mean. If you are a caring parent do your kids a favor and do not go to this circus!! read more
